In before Pokemon fans complain about the games selling well spelling doom for the entirety of the series.. along with how people who bought the games are corporate shills.
@Galaxy2IsTheGOAT I can't see a new 3D Mario come out next year if the new Donkey Kong is produced by the 3D Mario team. Maybe Nintendo's been sitting on DK Bananza for years at this point, but I seriously doubt that.
This dev really should do his research. The price of the game is 80 USD. The rumor is that GTA 6 is going to be 100 USD- and if that's true, I highly doubt the game is actually going to be worth that price.
I'll definitely be taking less of a risk on game series I've never played before. Unless Nintendo offers a sale of the games, I'm probably just going to be sticking to series I know I enjoy.
@CaptainRPG Except Black and White also carries a bit of nostalgia. Not as much as Gen 1, but enough for a scalper to make a lot off of- especially given the rare cards being introduced in this set.
@Spider-Kev Switch version looks graphically worse than the rest of the versions, and the game looked like it was extremely laggy. They haven't revealed a Switch 2 version of the game yet- but I feel like it'll need one.
It's insane that this is a paid "game." It's an over-glorified system manual that won't be played by people after their first run. This is basically Nintendo charging for a tech-demo.
What's funny is that Astro's Playroom was a pack-in tech-demo for the PS5, and that demo felt like it could've been a game easily worth 10 dollars. Insane that Nintendo thinks they can really charge that much for this sort of software when it barely constitutes as a "game."
I'm not really interested in this game. Level 5 confirmed that they're using Generative Ai for the crowds in this one, and it just looks like a ton of reused content that got higher resolution art due to Ai upscaling.
I feel like Fantasy Life i might be the last Level 5 game I ever buy honestly. It seems like the only one untouched by the stain of Gen Ai.
Given that these two no longer work at the company and the company has changed tactics ever since these two left, I highly doubt they're accurate in anything they're saying. Sure- the Nintendo of old wouldn't charge 80 dollars for a game and then extra for DLC- but the Nintendo of current probably would. Game upgrades being a thing that Nintendo charged for was thought to be impossible last gen. Online being something we had to pay for was thought impossible before the switch came out.
I'm not sold on Mario Kart World being "Genre Defining" or even "series redefining." It just looks like normal Mario Kart but with an Open World tacked onto it. I don't think it'll be a bad game by any means, but I'm not expecting it to be worth the 80 dollars they're asking for. They would seriously need to wow me with the direct for me to see what Nintendo is seeing in it.
As for DK, I genuinely do think that it's something which can only really be done on Switch 2- or at least next gen hardware. Sure, the graphics aren't insane or anything, but for it to run as well as it does and look as good as it looks with the amount of destructive objects is insane to me. It's been impressing me way more than Mario Kart World, and is probably my main reason in wanting to buy a Switch 2. Now if only Nintendo would open pre-orders and not increase the price of the console due to a certain individual who looks like he slathers himself in bags of cheeto dust.
I hope that if we can carry over our save to Switch 2, they end up making a more classic Animal Crossing for the people who were disenfranchised with the series after New Horizons. It probably will never happen- but I genuinely hope they make something that feels more akin to New Leaf rather than the mistake that was NH.
@Jam777 10-20 is a pretty massive dealbreaker to me. I'm way less likely to take a chance on a game I'm unfamiliar with if it's priced at 80 USD. I would also purchase far fewer games due to that price increase.
@BaldB3lper78 Those are just predictions. Predictions can and have been wrong in the past. Given how USD is weakening and families/individuals are struggling to pay bills or even survive- I genuinely can't see it selling well. Even if the prices are catching up to inflation. Wages haven't caught up.
@Jam777 The Wii and Switch were also reasonably priced. I know a ton of casual gamers who were excited for the switch 2 that aren't getting the system now due to the price of the games. I imagine the massive casual following with families aren't going to buy in.
@Jam777 Majority of the Switch games I buy are first party titles. Mainly because I don't own a Switch for third party. I have a PC where I can get those games for cheaper, along with being on more powerful hardware. While I don't buy every first party game, 80 dollars per game is still a huge blow to my wallet.
@BaldB3lper78 They listened back with the Nintendo 3DS. The console undersold because of the expensive price-tag combined with having hardly any games with launch. Nintendo reduced the price 6 months after it wasn't selling well. This could be the same situation, even with Mario Kart. The price is too high for casuals to feel comfortable buying into the console.
@BFahey3 Even if you get the bundle- if 80 dollars is the standard price for the individual game in the future, people are going to be buying less games. Especially given that the value of the American dollar is weakening and wages haven't yet caught up to it.
@Old-Red It isn't all physical copies. The first party games are still on the cartridge. The key cartridges are basically no different from the download cartridges that existed on Switch 1, and are utilized by third parties. One of the few games utilizing it so far is Bravely Default (which is stupid given that the game is a literal port of a 3DS title, so it should still be on the cartridge).
I hate that there's a lack of the Mii Maker on the home menu. Especially when Tomodachi Life is getting a sequel. You'd think they would want to return to how Miis used to be, but I guess not.
I also hate that it's implied that the Eshop will probably be browser based again. More slow loading times and a lack of music.
@Ham-n-jam I've heard that the 13th chapter has a heavier story focus than the rest of the game, so I hope it'll end up being better in that regard. However- I also really like that the main story intentionally isn't the focus of the game itself. Rather the planet and people you meet are the focus of the game's "narrative." The Affinity Quests and Side Quests basically act as if they're episodes of a TV show that help build the larger picture of the world you're supposed to survive, and the people you meet along the way.
@PikaPhantom Honestly, if they end up doing that- I might actually watch the film. Getting actors who aren't as well known, and who actually look the part age-wise would be great for what Nintendo is going for with this film.
I also wonder what angle they're going to try with it. If they're aiming for something more dark like Twilight Princess- or if it'll be a brighter film. My thinking if it's live action, it'll probably have to be a bit more gritty? Although maybe not.
Why do I get a weird feeling that Link is going to be either Timothee Chalamet or Tom Holland? Why am I getting a bad feeling that these films are just going to be horrible?
@Dee123 That is true. My thinking is that Nintendo is either going to release their stock in waves, or make sure that stores are stocked with enough. I don't really trust the words of one company over the other- but I'm trying not to get my hopes up either.
@Joker1234 No clue. Never pre-ordered a games console before. The last one I got was a PS5, and I bought it from a scalper back before Final Fantasy XVI released.
@Joker1234 Here's to hoping. I kinda hope that most of the stock went to Nintendo's online shops. Either that, or my store in my town is going to have a better chance if I ask in person.
@PikaPhantom Ahh. I still doubt they'll let you put Mega pokemon in HOME though. Given it's a temporary form and held items aren't allowed in HOME. Chances are that they'll just have mega stones in Champions that you'll be able to buy and equip or something.
@PikaPhantom Ahh. I don't see the image that Centro sent. I only see gifs of Pokemon and him making bold claims about them getting Mega Evolutions.
I was hoping this info wasn't true as well, since if it is- that means there's going to be so many more temporary forms that won't make it into the next generation, or even be able to be carried into HOME. Mega Evolution is such a lame gimmick in comparison to Regional variants and actual cross-gen evolutions. Sorta kills my hype a bit knowing that we're probably only going to be getting new Megas.
None of these sources are remotely accurate though? Pyoro has no relevant info because his claim to fame was pulling stuff from the back-end of the Eshop. Centro only regurgitates information that other people spout. Khu lost his credibility a while ago, and the Teraleaker (someone who actually played a version of Z-A) said that Centro and Khu are liars effectively.
@JR150 Yeah, exactly. Square especially with Gears, where they only bring the game out so they can keep squatting on the rights to it. They only release small things like easter-eggs or "merch."
@BrazillianCara I don't see why people do consider Saga and Gears as apart of Blade. While Saga has some ties, and the games share similar concepts- Saga and Gears can't be canon due to Monolith not owning the IP rights to them.

Generation 5 is next to get a remake according to the pattern we've been getting remakes in.
Gen 1 remakes in Gen 3
Gen 2 remakes in Gen 4
Gen 3 Remakes in Gen 6
Gen 4 Remakes in Gen 8
so this would mean
Gen 5 remakes in Gen 10.
I also didn't vote on the second poll, since there wasn't an option that fits what I feel like would happen. I do think there will be another game announced in the Presents, but it won't be a spin-off or a remake. It will most likely be Generation 10 of Pokemon. People will say I'm crazy for thinking this way, given that Z-A is slated to release this year- but given how the TCG works and how we know every set up until June (excluding Mega Brave and Mega Symphonia), then that positions Z-A's launch around the summer.
If Z-A is launching around the summer, then that means that November is wide open for some reason. Either because Gamefreak has something releasing in November, or Nintendo has the Switch 2 releasing in November.
I'm more inclined to think that Gamefreak is most likely going to be releasing Gen 10 in November, given that apparently the TCG cards are apparently only tournament legal for three years after their initial launch. This would slate Pokemon Scarlet and Violet's early sets as no longer being viable if they wait until 2026 to release Generation 10 of Pokemon. This means either Z-A's set is going to count as a pseudo-generation, and there'll be more after Mega Brave and Mega Symphonia- or that Gen 10 is releasing in November, just in time for them to launch the next TCG. It would make sense as well, given that the pattern for a new generation of Pokemon has always been around every three years since the release of the current generation.
@Oracles_fanboi The issue here is that Mario and Luigi games usually assign Luigi to the B button for his actions. This is something that a lot of people complained about Brothership not doing.
@N00BiSH You'd think after how many people were upset over that, the devs would've reconfigured the combat slightly to make it work. I guess they think it's fine that Luigi's actions in battle are tied to A.
@quinnyboy58 A good amount of indie devs will still value human made works. Generative Ai has no place in game dev, and a good chunk of people understand that it removes actual human touches from these games.
@tseliot Probably so. Even then though, I would rather play fewer games and support studios that actually hire human beings that produce art than support studios that employ soulless machines in order to produce "art."
Ai has no place in art. It is the cheapening of it, and therefore I don't want to support games that utilize it, nor studios that take part in that. If I buy Fantasy Life i- it will be the last game I buy from Level 5 (given that it seems clean from the taint that is Ai).
I want the artistic sphere to actually be for functioning human artists. For myself to have a job in the future, and for my peers to be able to find work that isn't just cleaning up or aiding a soulless machine in the production of slop.
@Solid_Python And on top of this, Level 5 is making their games with Generative Ai. I don't know if this game was tainted by it, but Holy Horror Mansion, Decapolice, and Iazuma have been.
