Re: Rumour: More Switch 2 Accessories Have Supposedly Surfaced Online

VoidofLight

@LavenderShroud @Keman The form factor of the console is real, just not the image here. The image here is a 3D printed version of the new joycon, given the absence of letters on the button faces.

There was a leak from a Chinese factory a couple of months ago that had a full 3D model which showcased the schematics of the console. That is a real leak as far as any of us are concerned, given that the shell for the console was made out of industrial materials that an average person wouldn't have lying around anywhere.

I'm someone who doesn't ordinarily believe leaks, but given how real the original image was, and how so many of these reputable manufacturers are literally creating accessories for this console- the leaks are pretty much real- regardless if Nintendo is confirming it or not.

@Nickinator The six finger thing was me jumping the gun since I heard it from a youtuber I was watching. After I looked back though, it doesn't look to be the case. However the video itself still could be generated by Ai given how weird the cuts are, and how SORA Ai is now open to public use.

Even if the video itself isn't Ai, the rest of it is. The whole steam page along with the photos on their website.

@yohn777 I pointed out multiple ways that it's Ai though. If you look at the site you'll see a ton of images of clothing that are illogical in design and have that strange glossy sheen that Ai is known for. Same with the images of cats. The literal description for the game on steam reads as a prompt in terms of how incoherent it is. They even have quotes from people who aren't involved in the game, with said quotes not even reading like a human actually said them. Hell, one of the quotes is from the Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood composer- who of which is said to be "working on the game," when in actuality they aren't.

Re: Catly Developer Says Game Does Not Use Generative AI, Blockchain Tech, Or NFTs

@TopazLink There is proper evidence though. If you actually look at the trailer for the game, it's clear that it's Ai. The human character has six fingers on one hand. The "gameplay" portion of the trailer literally showcases Ai imagery. The description is written by Ai, and if you look into the background of the company making the game- they're known for making crypto and NFT games with Generative Ai as a scam. I don't think it gets any more evident than that.

@Olmectron Given that this company is known to be into both Ai and Crypto/NFTs, it's 100% Ai generated writing. The description isn't just "lazy writing," given that even people with lazy writing would string sentences together in a more cohesive way than this.

@babybilly It still requires me to upload to an external site I'm pretty sure. If you want proof though, go to the superauthently developer page. There's a banner image that is outright just an Ai cat. The fur gives off a pretty off-putting feel.

On top of that, the description of the game is extremely nonsensical and repetitive in the steam listing of the game.

"Step into an enchanting dream where humans and cats forge the ultimate bond. Collect stories and chase memories through the eyes of both human and cat. Embark on playful escapades, craft cozy havens, explore vibrant landscapes, plant, laugh, race, decorate, create, steer robots, dress up, mingle, cuddle, groom. Heartwarming delights await in a tale of breathtakingly beautiful cats."

Also a ton of the images at 0:46 of the cats have that same fake and glossy look that Ai art tends to have.

Re: Surprise Leak Reveals Lenovo Is Releasing Another Switch-Like Gaming Handheld

@Bolt_Strike The casual fanbase is the majority who buys into Nintendo's consoles. Adults who don't play many games. Children who's families got them the system for Christmas or Birthdays. I know tons of people who only play on Switch because it's a simple console for them to get into, and it offers family friendly games that they enjoy. Some buy it for the portability that it offers. There's a good reason why the Steamdeck hasn't outpaced the Switch, or why none of these other handheld computers outpaced the Switch. They're novelty items that are made to play PC games- and most of the people who own them already own a gaming PC. It's usually used as a way to play a PC game in bed, or on the go for when people can't just sit at the computer and play those games. Doesn't help that these devices tend to have terrible battery life (worse than the Switch).

Now if Sony or Microsoft got into the space and made their own handhelds that can compete on both price and battery life, then I'd be worried for the Switch 2 just being a more powerful Switch- but they haven't yet. There's rumors about it, but even then there's no telling how long a handheld PS5-like console would last in terms of it's battery.

Re: Random: Now Pokémon Is Getting Its Own 'TCG' Rip-Off On The Switch eShop

@RupeeClock I don't think any of the big three are filtering this garbage out honestly. Not only is this an issue on the Nintendo end of things, but there's an Ai Generated rip-off of Monster Hunter called "Monster Hunters" on PS5. It isn't out yet, but even the description for the game is pretty much just a plagiarized version of the one for Monster Hunter Wilds listing- only changed slightly by what you can clearly tell is just CHATGTP.

It never fails to amaze me on how low Ai has brought people. Now it's easier than before to churn out slop rip-off games using Ai generated art and assets. They're not good games on their own, but they don't have to be. All they have to do is confuse people into thinking the game is what they're looking for by having a similar title and similar art.

Re: Random: Now Pokémon Is Getting Its Own 'TCG' Rip-Off On The Switch eShop

This game is really successful on Steam from what I can remember, and it worries me given that it's a ton of Ai slop. The art they use is Ai, down to the promo image seen in this post. The idea is cool, but it would be neater if the game was actually paying artists to make the art- and if they made card games based off of more than just Pokemon. Stuff like Yu-Gi-Oh or Magic the Gathering. I guess though that it would take creativity for them to do something like that, let alone create their own unique card game. Might as well just ape off of stuff that already exists whilst making it "legally distinct" but using Ai.

Funnily enough in the US, using Ai art means that you can't actually copyright your "work." This means you can technically steal Ai pieces and use them for your own gain if a company attempts to use it in their own games. I don't know why anyone would want to do that, given that it's slop- but it's something you can do if you wish.

Edit: Wait no, this game is actually a rip-off of another game apparently. This game is called "TCG Card Shop Master," while the other game is called "TCG Card Shop Simulator." So it's not even just an uninspired game. It's a rip-off of an uninspired game!

Re: The Legend Of Zelda: Echoes Of Wisdom Has Been Added To The Official Timeline

VoidofLight

@Not_Soos This is why I can’t see it as a “what if,” given there’d be so many branches off of every game. It’s more than likely Link in Ocarina was originally meant to fall in battle against Ganondorf, but the triforce wish in Link Between Worlds changed the outcome- creating two different futures while the forgotten downfall timeline kept marching on.

Re: The Legend Of Zelda: Echoes Of Wisdom Has Been Added To The Official Timeline

@jake1421 The prevalent theory of the downfall timeline’s existence is that it’s a forgotten timeline. The original timeline that naturally happened, where the Hero in Ocarina ended up being slain at Ganondorf’s hands, prompting the sealing war. That Link to the Past Link’s wish on the triforce to undo Ganon’s evil basically had an effect that rewrote history and created the version of Ocarina that we actually played, where Link won in the end.
