Re: Atlus Lead Explains Why Persona Protagonists Are High School Males

VoidofLight

@larryisaman The big issue would be the anime cutscenes. Given that the budget for Persona games aren't all that high, and how expensive it would be to have a version of those cutscenes that take into account a female protagonist- they tend to avoid it. The only reason why P3P has a female protagonist is due to the lack of cutscenes in the game. It's all just text and visual novel elements basically.

Re: Catly Developer Says Game Does Not Use Generative AI, Blockchain Tech, Or NFTs

@TheSaneInsanity The gameplay itself is something I'm not sure on being Ai or not. There's some instances that throw me off (the eyes at the end of the trailer and how they kinda glitch similarly to how Ai artifacting tends to look), but the main thing I'm seeing is that the promotional art is 100% Ai generated. The icons for the clothes, the designs of those clothes, and the images on the steam page and website are flat out Ai. That sorta gives me enough of a reason to not like the idea of this game's existence, even if the gameplay was handled by humans.

Even with this gameplay trailer, a few things feel extremely off to me. The lynx at the end of the trailer and how it's eye deforms a bit with the lighting for one. The music also just feels weird, especially for compositions of a guy who is known for bombastic orchestral pieces.

The icons for clothing in the trailer still look Ai generated. So even if the game itself isn't Ai- if this is even real gameplay (which I'm suspect of), they're still using Ai for the promotional art of the game and for the description of it.

Re: Those Switch 2 Leaks "Might Be Legit" According To A New Report

VoidofLight

@NintenGuy I mean the switch already has a share button on it, so I don't see a need to make a new secondary share button for livestreaming. Especially given that the console is a handheld device. Most people aren't going to be constantly connected to the internet and I doubt it'll see much use.

Also those gimmicks were probably my favorite things about the 3DS. I miss when Nintendo consoles had side functions that weren't just for playing games. When they would do something new with their consoles instead of just constantly making the same system but more powerful. If I want something like that, then I would go buy a PC.

Re: Those Switch 2 Leaks "Might Be Legit" According To New Report

@NintenGuy I didn't mean specs themselves. I meant internal features like your streetpasses or miiverse. What that weird second screenshot button does and the like.

Stuff that only an official reveal can really showcase.

Also given that the source is a redditor, I doubt any of what they're saying is true at all.

Re: Rumour: More Switch 2 Accessories Have Supposedly Surfaced Online

VoidofLight

@Serpenterror You do realize that multiple companies make accessories for these consoles, right? And not all of them are Nintendo first party like the pro-controller.

The steering wheel you posted isn't the official one that Nintendo made. The Nintendo official steering wheels look exactly like the one shown in this rumor, albeit a slight bit smaller due to how the Switch 1's joycons are smaller than the Switch 2's.

@LavenderShroud @Keman The form factor of the console is real, just not the image here. The image here is a 3D printed version of the new joycon, given the absence of letters on the button faces.

There was a leak from a Chinese factory a couple of months ago that had a full 3D model which showcased the schematics of the console. That is a real leak as far as any of us are concerned, given that the shell for the console was made out of industrial materials that an average person wouldn't have lying around anywhere.

I'm someone who doesn't ordinarily believe leaks, but given how real the original image was, and how so many of these reputable manufacturers are literally creating accessories for this console- the leaks are pretty much real- regardless if Nintendo is confirming it or not.

@Nickinator The six finger thing was me jumping the gun since I heard it from a youtuber I was watching. After I looked back though, it doesn't look to be the case. However the video itself still could be generated by Ai given how weird the cuts are, and how SORA Ai is now open to public use.

Even if the video itself isn't Ai, the rest of it is. The whole steam page along with the photos on their website.

Re: Catly Developer Says Game Does Not Use Generative AI, Blockchain Tech, Or NFTs

@yohn777 I pointed out multiple ways that it's Ai though. If you look at the site you'll see a ton of images of clothing that are illogical in design and have that strange glossy sheen that Ai is known for. Same with the images of cats. The literal description for the game on steam reads as a prompt in terms of how incoherent it is. They even have quotes from people who aren't involved in the game, with said quotes not even reading like a human actually said them. Hell, one of the quotes is from the Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood composer- who of which is said to be "working on the game," when in actuality they aren't.

Re: Catly Developer Says Game Does Not Use Generative AI, Blockchain Tech, Or NFTs

@TopazLink There is proper evidence though. If you actually look at the trailer for the game, it's clear that it's Ai. The human character has six fingers on one hand. The "gameplay" portion of the trailer literally showcases Ai imagery. The description is written by Ai, and if you look into the background of the company making the game- they're known for making crypto and NFT games with Generative Ai as a scam. I don't think it gets any more evident than that.

@Olmectron Given that this company is known to be into both Ai and Crypto/NFTs, it's 100% Ai generated writing. The description isn't just "lazy writing," given that even people with lazy writing would string sentences together in a more cohesive way than this.

Re: Catly Developer Says Game Does Not Use Generative AI, Blockchain Tech, Or NFTs

@babybilly It still requires me to upload to an external site I'm pretty sure. If you want proof though, go to the superauthently developer page. There's a banner image that is outright just an Ai cat. The fur gives off a pretty off-putting feel.

On top of that, the description of the game is extremely nonsensical and repetitive in the steam listing of the game.

"Step into an enchanting dream where humans and cats forge the ultimate bond. Collect stories and chase memories through the eyes of both human and cat. Embark on playful escapades, craft cozy havens, explore vibrant landscapes, plant, laugh, race, decorate, create, steer robots, dress up, mingle, cuddle, groom. Heartwarming delights await in a tale of breathtakingly beautiful cats."

Also a ton of the images at 0:46 of the cats have that same fake and glossy look that Ai art tends to have.

Re: Surprise Leak Reveals Lenovo Is Releasing Another Switch-Like Gaming Handheld

VoidofLight

@Bolt_Strike The casual fanbase is the majority who buys into Nintendo's consoles. Adults who don't play many games. Children who's families got them the system for Christmas or Birthdays. I know tons of people who only play on Switch because it's a simple console for them to get into, and it offers family friendly games that they enjoy. Some buy it for the portability that it offers. There's a good reason why the Steamdeck hasn't outpaced the Switch, or why none of these other handheld computers outpaced the Switch. They're novelty items that are made to play PC games- and most of the people who own them already own a gaming PC. It's usually used as a way to play a PC game in bed, or on the go for when people can't just sit at the computer and play those games. Doesn't help that these devices tend to have terrible battery life (worse than the Switch).

Now if Sony or Microsoft got into the space and made their own handhelds that can compete on both price and battery life, then I'd be worried for the Switch 2 just being a more powerful Switch- but they haven't yet. There's rumors about it, but even then there's no telling how long a handheld PS5-like console would last in terms of it's battery.
