@Jacket_p I'm not saying there's only one team working at the FBI. I'm saying what they're doing here is a distraction to the public so they forget about what's going on right now.
@Metazoxan Exactly. The undoing of the original story is the reason why I dropped the sequel halfway through. I just couldn't enjoy it when it ignored everything the original ended with.
I don't want to defend a corporation because the corporation isn't really anyone's friends- but I also feel like people are blowing this out of proportion. No, Nintendo doesn't hate second-hand games. They're not banning people for buying games that were resold. They banned this guy because they specifically purchased a game that had been copied, with the ID being used on two separate consoles.
People are also saying that the guy in the post got banned for buying pre-owned, but I guarantee you that the person who has the copied copy of the game also got banned if this guy did. Given how they track these copies with the ID, they most likely don't know who copied what- so they just opt to ban both of the system using the copies.
This most likely won't happen if you buy a game pre-owned. Unless the person who is selling the game copied the game on their end, you'll never run into this.
Iiii have no confidence this game is going to be better than the sequel. NirVaNa Initiative was so boring and poorly written that I just couldn’t enjoy it as much as I did with the original game. I ended up dropping the game about halfway through the second protagonist’s route. I wasn’t a fan of them retconning lots of Date’s character development because of them wanting to avoid spoiling the first game- and seeing as they’re keeping to that here, I probably won’t enjoy this game either.
@HeadPirate Will they sell the three separately, or will I have to rebuy the first game with the bundle? Since I've been wanting to play these on Switch instead of PC- due to how weird it feels on PC when I can't tab out of the game on my monitor.
Also, after seeing the trailer it amazes me that this is even being delayed in the first place. It's just ports of two really bad games that run poorly.
@Sambuc @Erigen That's because the actual Harvest Moon games are Story of Seasons. The games that released in this series after 2013 is just a copycat because the people who owned the rights to the series refused to let the devs actually have them.
This is why I really dislike Zelda Notes. It was made without taking the functions of the actual game in-mind, so it gets easy to cheese the game or break it.
I don't mind the asset reuse, but Echoes of Wisdom is probably my least favorite 2D Zelda due to just how the gameplay is. Not a fan of the inability to use a sword. Especially late into the game.
I also don't like the dungeon design and think it's incredibly weak for a 2D Zelda.
@Fiergala You'll probably enjoy XIV more if you get beyond A Realm Reborn. It starts pretty slow but gets pretty solid up until the end of Endwalker. The story patches after Endwalker and Dawntrail are where things really fall apart imo.
@Devann They aren't missing the point. They're trying to turn the narrative because they don't like the idea of people having fan-run servers or the fact that they'll have to let people play singleplayer games that they bought without the ability to strip them away from people's libraries due to the DRM they use.
@Jade37 I disagree. I didn't care about any of the characters in the narrative until Ishikawa took up the mantle for the expansions. Maehiro is laughably bad at writing characters- especially female characters. The treatment of women in XVI makes me despise XVI heavily. How Yasayle was written in Heavensward was also sad to watch- and basically showed how Maehiro would later view writing women in XVI's narrative. Jill could've been so much more than a damsel in distress. Benedikta was literally only motivation for the male characters to fight one another.
@Jade37 @Fiergala XIV has good writing. I say this as someone who genuinely hated XVI’s writing. Maehiro is laughably bad at character writing- especially when it comes down to female character writing. XIV is pretty bad until Shadowbringers imo, and then gets bad again at Dawntrail. Heavensward was the worst expansion I’ve played with an extremely generic plot and the characters barely resonating with me until Ishikawa took over around the end of Stormblood.
They still didn't fix the shadow render distance issues in handheld mode. What's with Nintendo charging for a game upgrade that doesn't actually fix the visual issues?
It's sad that a ton of people who are career artists in these comments use Ai to "save on time," rather than actually getting by without it. Interesting how people who are "artists" use what will effectively replace them in the future.
Ai is genuinely just a tool for capitalists. People who wish to make art for the sake of making money, and not for the sake of actually loving the craft. Those who love the craft do not use Ai. I want to be a comic artist. I am learning art through a university. Majority of the people I go to class with heavily dislike Ai, or think Ai is a scourge. They refuse to use it because it is ultimately cheating themselves out of the experience of creating. My professors want us to learn how to actually do things the proper way, and refuse to let us use Generative Ai functions on software like photoshop because of it. Because they know and understand that most of the artistic expression from human art stems from actually doing the work yourself- and not having some automated machine that's destroying our world do it.
@axelhander Actually it isn't untrue. Ai is automation, or at least most people who use it utilize it as a form of automation. People are using it to generate whole youtube videos so they no longer have to make content themselves. They're using it to generate thumbnails so they no longer need to learn how to edit pictures or use photoshop. They're using it instead of picking up a pencil or learning the principles of design.
These are skills that people aren't learning for themselves. When using Ai, you aren't learning how to do any of these crafts. Majority of the people who use Ai to generate "art" don't even see what's wrong with said Ai generated "art" in the first place. They can't point out the anatomical issues present within the piece. They won't be able to point out why the piece guides the eye off of the page instead of keeping it onto the page.
I've seen countless people use ChatGPT to analyze or break down novels for them because they saw reading as a "chore" or "busywork." The Ai is summarizing the story and it's themes while telling the user how to feel- rather than letting the user actually process the narrative for themselves or breaking down how the story was told/constructed. Without allowing them to break down the literary devices used or the symbolism that the author of the piece intentionally put within said piece in order to get their messages across.
With Ai, literary analysis is dead. With Ai, foundations of an art form are lost. With Ai, you never need to think again- because thinking is only going to be seen by most of the people championing it as a "hindrance," or "busy-work."
Ai is a tool. A tool for capitalists to use in order to automate processes and crafts that were inherently human. Before with the advent of Ai, they were saying how it would take jobs and free people up to work on their crafts. To hone their skills and create art. Now? We're living in a world where Ai is going straight for culture itself. Where it's coming straight for creative work and leaving creatives out of a job. Mainly because people who are uninformed like tech bros or CEOs- or even your common person don't understand the ins and outs of art forms or the work that even remotely goes into making good art in the first place. All of this is just the death march of capitalist society. Ai being a "tool" is propaganda pushed by CEOs of mega corporations like Hino, who wish to ultimately replace human workers with automation.
Ai is a promise that you no longer have to be creative. That you no longer have to learn skills. That you can take the easy way out without doing any of the work, or having to truly create anything. It is being used as a method for people to no longer have to think for themselves (ChatGPT), and a method for corporations to eventually no longer have to hire human workers. It will be the death of human culture- and this is the path that people will go down to justify or try to normalize it.
Also- level 5 says this, but they actually are using it in final products. The crowds in inazuma eleven are all ai generated. Promo art for their mech game is ai generated. Decapolice is going to have ai generated side quests. Holy Horror Mansion seems to use a massive amount of ai generation for names, character designs, and even the concept trailer.
Honestly, I feel like the people waiting for it to be finished before jumping in are doing themselves a disservice. While the game is unfinished, it is made for an episodic release and waiting for each part to come out. The community aspect is something I genuinely couldn’t imagine not being apart of the over-all experience. Waiting for each chapter while speculating about what will happen next is pretty thrilling. Making memes about the game as well.
Also people think it’ll be 6-7 years before it’s finished, but it feels like they’re aiming for at least a chapter per year.
While it'll be interesting to see how this game runs on Switch 2- I personally don't think I'll double-dip. It's probably one of the most disappointing Final Fantasy games I've ever played.
@DDFawfulGuy I thought Link in Ocarina was 10 and then 17? The only Link that's around 13-14 would be the Hero of the Wind I think? Or rather, most incarnations of Toon Link.

I have 0 intents on using it. Most of the features for it break the game since the game wasn't balanced around said features to begin with- and I don't really care to use the notes function enough to keep my phone near-by when I play.
I also don't think the map is useful for Tears of the Kingdom, given how the shrines are really easy to complete if you know that the Depths are just a mirror world version of the main map- and all the light roots are underneath the shrines.
@AussieMcBucket It feels fitting given most incarnations of Link and Zelda are 17 years old or so. The only time we've ever had a grown adult Link and Zelda that were around the age of 20 is in Tears of the Kingdom.
