My feeling is that the DLC announcement will come with the release of the 4K version of TOTK, coming to Switch 2 as a launch title next year.

I love this story.
My forgotten game is a side scrolling 2D arcade game from the late 80s/early 90s in the vein of Shinobi but with more cartoony graphics. You could play as one of 3 boys, each with their own abilities. I remember one of them was a Ninja but can't remember the other 2 (a spaceman? a cowboy?)
I tried finding it but it's ungooglable.

Every one says not Illumination as no one wants pop songs and a talking Link.

I would love a Ghibli style movie, but I understand that 2D is not as glamorous as 3D for big budget films, and Ghibli's 3D movies don't look that great.

Some people mention a live action movie like LOTR or GOT which is too western and doesn't reflect Zelda inherently Japanese take on fantasy.

I'd say next up will be Donkey Kong or Kirby, while a sequel to Super Mario Bros is being developed.
Animal Crossing won't be far behind.
Zelda needs to be a 2D anime film, done by a Japan studio like Ghibli or Comic Wave.
Metroid is the only one that could be a live action movie.
Personally, I would love to see an F-Zero live action film.

Very disappointing that only the cars and characters are made of Lego and not the world around them. It's such a missed opportunity and makes the art direction looks generic.
I'm a big Lego fan, but I'll pass.

The most likely issue will be a silly name like New Switch, Switch 4K or Switch + Expansion.

Nice! I loved this game and so does everyone around me. I found the reviews needlessly harsh. It's the perfect example of little snacks of games I can play in one evening which is all the gaming I can get to do these days anyway.

If you had asked me 20 years ago what Mega Man would look like in the far future of 2023, that's... not what I would have pictured.

Although individual characters and environments are well drawn, they're too generic to stand out in a sea of anime inspired games.
Also, it's lacking a coherent vision that's unifying all the elements together, like a proper art direction.
On that note, when is Silksong coming out?

What's frustrating is that Game Freak puts so much time, people and money into their new IPs to the detriment of the Pokémon games which are looking worse and worse.
If they're fed up with making Pokémon games, they should renegotiate their deal with Nintendo.

You're confusing violence and addiction.
ESRB Ratings are about violence in videogames.
Addiction is a completely new phenomenon.

But indeed this could be a solution: that ESRB creates a new label for addictiveness. Unfortunately, big companies like Epic will only budge if faced with a lawsuit.

Don't get me wrong: I disapprove of poor parenting in any form.
But more needs to be done to protect vulnerable people, adult or minor, from addictive games.

The big difference is that our society understands the addictive nature of alcool, tobacco, drugs or gambling. But addictive games (designed with behavioural psychologists) is a new phenomenon.
Most parents won't know how much more addictive Fortnite is from a Mario game.

I hope this lawsuit wins and that addictive games are forced to display a warning about their danger.

Everyone is missing the point here!
It's not about blaming poor parenting but acknowledging that there is, for some, an addiction problem in the gaming community.
While some games (like the ones made by Nintendo) are designed for FUN,, an increasing amount are being engineered for ADDICTION.
How many people have divorced because of videogames? (I know at least 3 couples).
How many kids have failed exams?
How many adults have lost their jobs?
This is an extremely important topic that no one in the community wants to acknowledge or write about.

Technically good but the art direction is unimaginative af.

That tweet is 100% the reason they were fired.
I work in VFX on big movie franchises.
I've seen people get fired for more innocent tweets than this.
When you work on top secret franchises, you have to learn to shut up your tweeting hole.

@Kyloctopus KOTAKU from today is very different than the KOTAKU from 2 years ago. I've been reading the site every day for the last 14 years and the quality of journalism as really evaporated as the more senior journalists left.
Nowadays I find it really hard to navigate through the click baity articles, commercials and random articles about wrestling.

That being said, I hope Nintendo will respond to this. Any harassement, intended as a joke or not, systematic or explicit, should not be.

If you're lucky enough to be able to work with the Metroid universe, why the hell would you want to take elements from another competitive franchise?
I remember playing Metroid Prime 3, fully realizing the Halo influences and being so disappointed by the lack of originality.

These days Captain Falcon is arguably more famous (and memeable) than the whole F-Zero franchise.
So capitalise on it and make a new game with an expanded story mode where you play the Falcon Puncher fighting crime between races.
Also include an online Battle Royale style game with 99 racers.
But most of all, include beautifully remixed versions of every iconic song.
