The famous Undertale and Deltarune creator Toby Fox has shared a very brief game development update via social media.
After showing off some of his concept art, Fox mentioned how his game development was "going well". He's got good feelings about it, and also noted how he's been getting more and more people to help out recently.
We're guessing he's referring to the remaining Deltarune chapters. The second chapter was released on the Switch eShop for free last September, following a Nintendo Direct presentation. He's currently working on additional chapters, and up to seven chapters are reportedly on the way.
In a previous update, Fox also mentioned how he hired a team of people to assist him during the development of Chapter 2:
"The time it took to develop "Chapter 2" itself was actually a year and a half. There were a lot of things before we could start full-scale development. However, three years is long... I feel a little sorry for making everyone wait so long...
I programmed "Chapter 1" and "UNDERTALE" all by myself, but now I can't program for a long time because I hurt my wrist. So, "Chapter 2" is about 90% programmed by another member of the team. Yes, I've become a director from this time (imagine a professional dog in a beret)."
With development going well, hopefully it means Chapters 3, 4 and 5 will be released sooner rather than later. When they do arrive, they'll apparently released together, and at that point, players will be required to purchase the game. Here's what he had to say during a blog update last September:
"My next goal is to complete Chapters 3, 4 and 5 for next time. Then, at that time I will ask for people to buy the game, at the price of the first 5 chapters (including 1 and 2). I don't know the price yet, but it's definitely going to cost more than UNDERTALE."
Are you looking forward to the remaining Deltarune Chapters? Have you played the first two chapters yet? Leave a comment down below.

Please, take all the time you need, It will all be worth it!
Can't wait (looks at backlog)
Yeah I think it’s time you asked consumers for money now, Toby
The first two chapters were really good
Hey Toby, after Deltarune, please make Mother 4
Can't wait for the next chapter! Replaying the first two and getting a good laugh out of it once more
@Mattock1987 For sure he deserves it. Bought Undertale on Steam recently on a sale to throw in some development support.
@Octane_st1m I would buy undertake 5 time over if I hadn’t played through it a million times!
I had a lot of fun with Deltarune chapters 1 and 2, so I'm more than happy to give him my money once he starts charging for the remaining chapters.
I can't wait for this game to be finished, since that'll hopefully mean it gets a physical release. I'm very much looking forward to putting this next to Undertale on my shelf one day. I really hope Toby Fox goes through FanGamer again and not Limited Run Games.
I picked up Undertale last month and finished my first playthrough, almost immediately beginning another. What an outstanding game, can't wait to start on Deltatune when I finish genocide
@PBandSmelly Poor kid must have been traumatized😂
The first two were fully finished games and stories on an overarching story. I can't wait for the rest!! ❤️
@PBandSmelly 😂 I hope this is sarcasm 😂
@Murkyelm 😂😂😂😂
See you guys in 2024/2025
@KayFiOS Yeah, FanGamer has some really good physical releases that are worth the money (in my opinion).
He can take all the time he needs, I'll still be ready to check out the next chapter even if it's in the next 10 years
@NotArmani Even beyond Collector's Editions, at least to my knowledge, FanGamer doesn't make you wait half a year from a game's release. Plus, I didn't get the collector's edition, but I thought the Little Golden Book-style booklet felt like something from a collector's edition, and it alone made it worth getting a physical copy, if for no other reason than making me reminisce of the Little Golden Book series.
Ah, three chapters to arrive at once!
Makes me a little more calm about the chapter list suddenly going to 7. ^^
@KayFiOS Agreed! More effort is actually put in than you'd expect, and I'm all for it. Still reading that booklet when I'm bored too!
@PBandSmelly you do know that Undertale and deltarune was created by the same person? also it's not sands it's sans. Hopefully
you were being sarcastic
