While Theatrhythm Final Fantasy: Curtain Call is an expanded and remixed version of its predecessor, it is nevertheless — arguably — one of the year's finest retail releases on the 3DS; we were certainly fans in our review. DLC is a pretty important part of the package beyond the extensive catalogue that's already included, too, and Square Enix has announced that tracks from one of its biggest 3DS hits — Bravely Default — will arrive in North America on 24th December; these have previously been available in Japan.
In addition to four Bravely Default tracks there'll be another eight options available, all costing $0.99.
Battle Music Sequence (BMS)
- “He of the Name” (Bravely Default)
- “Evil Wings” (Bravely Default)
- “The Serpent That Devours the Horizon” (Bravely Default)
- “Ultima” (FINAL FANTASY XIV)
- “Hard to Miss” (FINAL FANTASY XIV)
- “Zero” (FINAL FANTASY TYPE-0 ™)
- “Ardent Rhythm” (Romancing SaGa ® : Minstrel Song)
- “Battle #4” (SaGa Frontier)
- “Meridian Dance” (Secret of Mana)
- “Chrono Trigger” (CHRONO TRIGGER)
Field Music Sequence (FMS)
- “Horizon of Light and Shadow” (Bravely Default)
- “Title Screen” (Romancing SaGa 2)
Are any of you Theatrhythm fans planning to pick up this content on Christmas Eve? Let us know, and we'll keep our eyes peeled for news of an equivalent release in Europe.
If you're a fan of these games, meanwhile, don't forget to check out the recent coverage of Theatrhythm Dragon Quest, which is currently only confirmed for a release in Japan.

Mine day one! I love this game. I've been playing it like a crack addict, and I have all the DLC. The button control is a huge improvement alone over the original. I wish they would patch the original with button controls. I hope they release even more DLC for this game. I'm also hoping for the Dragon Quest version to make it to US shores as well. Can't recommend this game enough to anybody even slightly interested in it.
Releasing Zero from Bump of Chicken will really increase awareness of them outside of Japan. They're a really good band.
@KnightRider666 same here. Played the original for 60+ hours and getting close to that on the new one. Tracks from secret of mana and chrono trigger make me very happy indeed. Roll on EU release!
BTW the two FFXIV tracks are free until January 6 in Japan.
I may get the CT track.
Will definitely be getting the Bravely Default tracks. Unsure about the others.
Oh nice.
Not sure if there's any that I want or not, but I'll make sure to go through them all and pick out any I like enough to purchase.
Hope they continue to release more songs because there's still plenty of good stuff.
Considering the base game has over 200 tracks for the full price of $40, the DLC tracks feel overpriced. I might get a couple of the Bravely Default ones though.
Gosh, the DLC tracks are so overpriced. It should be like a pack of 4 songs for $1.
New DLC and still no Krille. Makes me wonder what they have against her.
How about the Romancing SaGa games. (i.e certainly 3).
I will maybe - MAYBE - buy the Chrono Trigger theme. But I am reluctant to buy any DLC until Liberi Fatali from FFVIII is available.
Apparently, these tracks will be available at same time for EU !
I may just get all of these. I think it's high time to get back into this game!
CHRONO TRIGGER WHAAAAAAAAAAAT!?!?!?!?!
@Drac_Mazoku DQ VIII and DQ IX both sold over a million copies outside Japan. Neither of the Theatrhythm games have sold even 0.5 million copies worldwide.
Chrono Trigger main theme in addition of Bravely Default tracks? Sweetness!
Release them in Europe and I'll go buy a copy that very moment just for the Bravely Default tracks and Zero
I'm probably most excited about the Chrono Trigger and Secret of Mana tracks, but I like Bravely Default's soundtrack as well, now I just need to go back to beating it...
Meridian Dance from Secret of Mana!!!!!
This is too good to be true.
Thats about 1/4 the price of the game if you get them all. These are way overpriced. I don't even like Bravely Default soundtrack (don't kill me please).
I only wish SquareEnix would release Saga Frontier 1 & 2 on the Playstation Network so that i can actually play the games. I'd like to anyway, before downloading the tracks
Bought evil wings and serpent devouring the heavens from Bravely Default. Note: sdth starts about 5 minutes into the full song. It's the most active part of the song, but it does cut out about the first half. Just an fyi for those thinking about buying the track. A song that could have been at least five minutes ends up at around three and a half minutes.
