Fans of the latest Super Smash Bros. titles on Wii U and 3DS certainly have a lot to look forward to, with Mewtwo on the way soon - we also know that Lucas is coming this summer, of course, making a return from Super Smash Bros. Brawl on Wii.
Though we have a wait for the character to arrive as DLC, we're yet to see how he'll vary from his previous SD appearance. The Master0fHyrule channel on YouTube has once again done an excellent comparison video of the moves and animations we saw in the Lucas reveal video - we already shared the channel's Mewtwo video last week.
As with Mewtwo, there are naturally plenty of similarities, but with minor tweaks and improved visuals on display. Check it out below and let us know what you think.

I thought the Rope Snake was bigger! Neat improvement for those getting used to his PK Thunder.
I love this. It looks like his smashes and aerials cover a larger area.
Yep, and he looks just as OP as he was in Brawl! Darn, I was really hoping they would Nerf him just a smidge.
I was sooo glad he wasn't in the game. Too bad he is now.
NOW GIVE US MOTHER 3!
(Just kidding... sort of... except not really.)
The more SSB characters the better!
@ricklongo They are probably saving a Mother 3 announcement for E3 after they officially reveal Lucas's official release date.
@abbyhitter Well, I'm honestly not so sure, but I pray you're right nevertheless!
I wonder if Lucas was nefed....
Let's see...they gave him a bit more polys, but mostly just to add a bit of dimension to his hair and that's it. Texture quality, like the rest of the game, it's extremely low, but they can probably get away with calling it an "art style". I guess crap texture quality (it's an eighth gen game with 6th gen level textures) and no textures aside from a diffuse color with some falloff can be considered a "style" nowadays. Whelp, at least that helped speed up development. If they were actually serious about building a Smash Bros game to take advantage of the Wii U just like past games took advantage of their host consoles (also the 3DS game), then it would've taken much longer to develop.
@AVahne You seem like a lot of fun.
Mother 3 was released on GBA years ago. We're in the 3DS era, why are people still waiting for it even though there's a fan translation out there? No offense to anyone who loves the series but come on guys, just get over it.
Geeze @erv and @AVahne when people want to be negative they take it to an extreme. Can't you just let everyone enjoy this?
Please have his Final Smash be something else now...then again they can leave it since they changed Ness's up a little.
@MysteriousBebsi
It's because not everyone want to play Mother 3 on a PC emulator.
@AVahne I think smash on wii u looks fantastic.
@MysteriousBebsi
Yeah, we are in the 3DS era... But the Wii U does have GBA games on virtual console, but I'm sure you know that. So maybe there's hope that Mother 1 and 3 could make their way on there. I would love to have those games. I already have Earthbound on VC.
As for Lucas, I don't know. I never really liked using him in Brawl. I never really liked using Ness in any of the Smash games either. I may not get this DLC.
@RaccoonNinja28 - I'm sure he's great at parties
One thing I'm a bit disappointed with is that in Brawl Lucas' s hair moves around a but. In Sm4sh his hair is stiff like it's made of clay.
Other than that though he looks great. I can't wait til we finally get him aaaah!
@MysteriousBebsi Because I would rather buy it official than getting a flashcart that cost $50 and play it on my GBA. Seriously, it is never too late to localize a game. Hell, I would still buy the Mother games even if I completed Mother 3 about 2 times already (that'll be a 3 by next week).
Now just give me Wolf and and this will end perfectly.
@sp_initiate-001 @Chaoz @shonenjump86 Thanks for clarity, dudes. It's nice to hear the reasons. I personally am not a fan of the Mother series (if it wasn't obvious already, haha), so Lucas and Ness don't matter to me. But I'm always welcome to new characters in Smash, unless it just becomes ONE Smash Bros game that keeps getting updates with new characters rather than new games. I'll probably get Lucas just to have him.
@MysteriousBebsi If I was you, I would look to the eBay site a copy with the English patch like this one.

And I already got one of it.
Maybe we'll get mother 3 after all. Remember last year's robot chicken thing where a Nintendo fan asked for Star Fox and Mother 3? We are getting starfox so maybe we'll get mother 3 too:D
@RaccoonNinja28 I KNOW RIGHT! LOL
@TossedLlama We can, but I gotta admit I'm kinda scared of flamethrowers.
And the differences are? copy/paste code.
Soooooo..... They changed nothing? Well except for lengthening the snake rope?
Lucas was my go to fighter in Brawl so I'm excited to see him return and will love having his amiibo. Not so fussed for Mewtwo I've never been his biggest fan but will probably get him anyway.
@Captain_Toad Wolf is someone I can definitely live without. We already have two very similar Star Fox characters, so we don't need a third. Sure, they have their differences, but they're all still basically clones of each other right down to their Final Smashes. While we do have Mario, Luigi, and Dr. Mario; Luigi has been tweaked so much over the course of the series that he no longer counts as a clone.
@DarkEdi Longer snaker, and his down throw puts characters in a pitfall. Also, who cares. If it's not broke, don't fix it.
@BulbasaurusRex Wolf's specials look similar to Fox and Falco's, but function very differently. Plus, his titls, smash attacks, and throws are COMPLETELY different from Fox and Falco's. I wouldn't call Wolf a clone, but I would put him in the same boat as Luigi.
I will be some of those people who are going to buy every single character they release for this game simply because buying each new character increases the replay value for me by a huge margin. I love the many different new Smash opportunities each new addition to the game provides. I kind of feel bad for Sakurai though. In the interviews I have seen of his, He seems to be far too busy with Super Smash Bros for his liking. Hope he is getting some good rest!
If I don't see Mother 3 or Starfox U at this years E3 I'm going to be so pissed off!
get the mother 3 english cart. use a snes controller on the gamecube with the game boy player. play it on big screen tv.
problem solved.
