Following on from a limited beta exclusive in Canada earlier this year, The Pokémon Company has now launched Pokémon Trading Card Game Live in even more locations.
The new beta round makes the game available in Australia, New Zealand, Canada and Mexico. This new title is free-to-play and is available on iOS, Android devices, and also PC and macOS - with language support for English, French and Spanish.
Players of Pokémon TCG Online will be able to migrate their existing accounts to the new game, and you can learn more about this in our previous post:

Here's a look at the limited beta from earlier this year:
There's no mention of a full release date just yet, but when we hear something, we'll be sure to let you know. Are you looking forward to Pokémon TCG Live? Have you been able to go hands-on with the beta yet? Leave a comment down below.

With all the issues I am hearing about PTCGL, I am glad there is no mention of a Full Release. The Pokemon Company International bit off more than they could chew and have a long way to go until it is ready. At least we still have PTCGO
Can't wait to play this on my phone, i really don't play on pc with the current game often and I'd play much more on my phone. I hope it's as micro-transaction free as the current title though
Love the game but those avatars still look horrible, like a low budget DVD animated film. At least they look better than the current TCG online designs.
I'd be fine without having avatars.
@Vivianeat That might be done on purpose. Simple avatars so they can focus on working on the rest of the game.
Well I'm excited since I've never had the ability or chance to play when I was younger, but I was hoping they would use similar models in Unite since its part of the pokemon artstyle.
Hopefully it wont need to reinstall every time you want to play it, man PTCGO had an annoying problem of not working 8 times out of 10 and needing to reinstall for it to work.
I wonder if the codes from the packs will also work on this new one.
@solarwolf07 It has no way to spend actual money on it. You can use in game currency to buy specific cards and packs though, but that currency is earned through playing and scanning codes from irl products.
@twadebarcelona yep, that's what I'm hoping happens with the new one. But making a new one is probably an excuse to riddle it with them
Sick. But I agree with everyone else, those avatars need to be more Pokemon trainer like. They just don't fit at all as is.
Why are they avoiding the US? I really don’t want to play online again until Live launches mainly due to the fact that you can craft cards instead of trading which is the better way to go for online tcgs like this IMO. They probably realize that The US would be the harshest critics of them all 😂
@Shade_Koopa Do u think they'll change them before full release? Honestly I'd remove them, looking at it now, avatars seem pointless and take up too much space. Focus on deck customizing not avatar customizing.
I don't think the recent Yugioh games have avatars.
@solarwolf07 I'm referring to the new one. I've played some of it. It's a lot nicer on my phone than the old one was.
@Vivianeat Keep in mind the target for Pokemon is kids. They may like how the avatar looks. Let's them feel like there actually a pokemon trainer. : P
It's still the beta. They have plenty of time to make changes.
I still wish they kept Pokémon trading card games to be available for consoles only instead.
It's just not appealing at all with this game in its state right now.
The progress from Pokémon tcg online will be transferable to this one right?
@solarwolf07 If you'll go to the Pokémon website and look at the Sunsetting info for when they switch to Live, it discusses how their will be microtransactional currency called Crystals or something like that that you can buy. So I feel like it will be microtransaction heavy. It does say if you have 125 card packs in your account when you migrate to Live, you will get 12,500 Crystals if you want to stack up in the meantime.
@NickKnackz Thanks for the reply. The thing i loved most about the old game was it's extremely free-to-play friendly economy. (Or for people who occasionally bought real packs, such as myself). Ah well, everything will end up with microtransactions i guess
