Earlier this week, The Pokémon Company confirmed that it will be broadcasting a new 'Pokémon Presents' show, featuring "updates on Pokémon apps and video games, including Pokémon Scarlet and Violet".
Scarlet and Violet are, of course, heading to the Nintendo Switch on November 18th, 2022, and while we already know quite a hefty amount about the new mainline games, The Pokémon Company clearly has a few surprises up its sleeve for its latest broadcast.
As for other potential announcements? Well, we're not too sure what to expect. Might we finally get some concrete information on the illusive Pokémon Sleep? Who knows. What's more likely, however, is that we'll be getting a few updates on Pokémon Unite and Pokémon GO.
As a reminder, the Pokémon Presents broadcast will air on Wednesday 3rd August at 6am PDT / 9am EDT / 2pm BST / 3pm CET.
Make sure to cast your votes in the below polls and let us know in the comments what you're most excited to see!

Nintendo Life’s resident horror fanatic, when he’s not knee-deep in Resident Evil and Silent Hill lore, Ollie likes to dive into a good horror book while nursing a lovely cup of tea. He also enjoys long walks and listens to everything from TOOL to Chuck Berry.
I hope they tell us that trainers, gym etc scale with the amount of badges (or whatever this game has) because otherwise making it open world would be pointless
When it comes to SV, new Pokemon is all I need to be satisfied so more of those (and maybe even the reveal of regional variants) is good in my book. As for a more personal request however, there's one game that I've silently been begging for since the first entry was revealed/released back in 2020: a new Pokemon Mystery Dungeon game. More specifically, an Explorers remake. I thoroughly loved what I played from Rescue Team DX so a remake of an even better game would make me over the moon with joy. Do a playable eShop demo right after the presentation like with DX and we are sorted. They put in a Shiny Celebi as one of the last missions in DX and Shiny Celebi just so happens to be an important characters in EoS, LET ME HAVE THIS.
I want them to take their time on the game. That means delaying it, give their workers some time to actually relax in between work hours, and ensure the quality that the series was once known for.
That's my personal wish of course. I know other people will enjoy it regardless and that's fine of course! Who knows though, maybe they'll be able to convince me again after all.
Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Explorers Remake for Spring 2023. Then I think it's time for some Johto love with a HGSS remake but that won't be announced and will likely be a Holiday 2023 game.
@Axecon HGSS demake? Nah, it'll be a faithful remake to the Gold and Silver games, the BDSP treatment. Gutted Viridian Forest, no Safari Zone, Crystal improvements/features ignored such as Battle Tower.
@IronMan30 Honestly? People complaining about people complaining about Pokemon are getting annoying at this point.
They are done with Pokemon? Ok... What's the problem with that?
I'd like to see how the open world works as that seems to be the coolest part (so far). I'm not fussed on the new Pokémon they've shown so far so I'm hoping they'll show off some more and maybe one or two of them could win me over. Don't want to just use old ones, it's a new game after all, I'd rather if possible use six new ones.
@CorePrideX a legends expansions in the vein of what monster Hunter does would be awesome! I would have preferred that this year but I'll just have too do with a brand new game instead
I hope to see more of the overworld and that it will be worth it and fun to explore. From the last trailer it looked rather dull and empty. Hope it will be improved. At this moment looks Sonic Frontiers more promising so far in my opinnion. I hope I will be pleasantly surprised otherwise I will likely skip it.
So obviously SV will be the main focus here, but honestly I will probably be more hyped if they announce a major PLA expansion - that game was excellent, and I would love another reason to dig back in.
To just be silly, ill go against the person who said less phone crap, I want more phone crap! Id like a announcement of Pokemon Master EX of a new skin. Then the stuff I "wish" they made: a subway surfers rip off, a lily garden rip off where you build your own daycare off the ground, and then a collab with Dragon City.
@Emmerichcoal just an app and a item that traces your sleeping pattern, but a lot of people like you that doesnt know is why people think its quietly canceled since no news has came out unlike the upcoming TCG app.
Can someone please explain the Dexit part of the vote?
A little bit of open world gameplay would be more than enough for me. And I hope the game keeps the childish and happy vibes and does not become too realistic and serious.
I want to see if there is a hint of Legends' catching mechanics in SV. Like many others I believe it will be hard for me to go back, in fact I simply don't want to.
Still waiting for a release date for Pokémon TCG Live as they said it’s suppose to come out this year but we still don’t have even the beta here in the states yet. But mainly expecting this one to focus on Scarlet and Violet which is cool since I plan on buying it
@IronMan30 What? You didn't need to announce what you think other people that you don't know will say after the news either.
I just don't get it at this point.... "wow! look at all these people saying that they don't like Pokemon and critizing the games! How funny!". All of this because of what? The critism SWSH recieved almost three years ago and the need you feel to "get back at them for that"? Is that it?
@spottedleaf Unfortunately, I doubt either BDSP or Arceus recieve any updates. And (also) unfortunatelly, I think the possibilities of another Mystery Dungeon Pokemon game are slim. The remake on Switch sold ok but nothing mindblowing. And believe me, I want to be wrong about this one.
It would be nice to see a difficulty setting. I don't need to be told how to throw a Pokeball for the umpteenth time. Maybe kids are the target audience, but a large portion of their base are grown up now and have cash to drop on nostalgia.
@theshirecat OOOHH. I like that. As many Charizard forms as Pokemon in gen 1. That's two layers of gen 1 references. Don't forget to ignore the other two Kanto starters tho, since those are not important compared to CHARIZARD.
All right thanks. I did not know what Dexit means, so I googled it and google told me it means Germany leaves the EU. That is why I was so confused. But in this case it basically means not every Pokemon of the series will be playable, obtainable or something like that. Is this right?
We need to know a lot of things about SV. We normally know MUCH more about the games by this point in the year. So this presentation really needs to be a blowout or there's going to be significant questions about SV's content.
The region name and map, whatever they're doing with gyms, and field moves (Ride Pokemon or whatever they're doing) needs to be a must. They should also probably throw in the burst gimmick, regional variants, the Amie/Refresh/Camp equivalent, at least one other new mechanic, and 5+ new Pokemon.
Now personally I'd most like to see details on the region map, gyms (especially if we can complete them in any order), and field moves. But this is a situation where we practically need to hear about all of the above because we're just that far in the dark about this game worryingly close to release (it's only 3 months out remember).
@Jhena Oh my... I haven't even thought about that interpretation of Dexit. Yes, (the article and) I was refeering to the cut of Pokemon since SWSH, not about Germany leaving the EU.
@wuntyme8 I don't think we're getting the Stadium games until GB for NSO is announced. They're primarily designed as add-ons for the GB Pokemon games and work best when you can transfer your Pokemon over from the GB games (yes you can use rental Pokemon, but they're weaker and it's harder to win with them). They're probably going to wait until RBY and GSC are coming to NSO before they put Stadium and Stadium 2 on there.
So I voted other on the 3rd poll here and my Other as to what I want to see is...the introduction of PokeRock as a Pokemon. Who is PokeRock you ask? Go to YouTube and search for PokeRock. He's introduced by 3 videos on The Rock's YouTube channel. Yes. THAT The Rock. As in the wrestler/movie star. Out!
Most likely new regional variants and evolutions of certain Pokemon. Different Gym Leaders (If they are any) for both games and the hook that will draw players in.
Just new pokemon. Pleaaaase! Loads of new and cool designs! Everything about Scarlet and Violet already sounds amazing so new pokemon would just make it even better.

I want to play some story with my friends.
Wanna see the evolution looking of the starter.
I can imagine Quaxly will have the best final evolution design.
Whatever they'll show, we'll get plenty of people saying they're done with Pokémon after this.
I hope they announce something new.
@IronMan30 and they will ALL still buy the game. Mark my words.
Also I am very hyped for the new games. I hope they'll be great.
I think the main thing I want to know is: can we have a Pokémon following us in the overworld? Keep that in and I'll be happy hahahaha
Hope for some legends arceus dlc tbh. Or just a new game like Legends Celebi or Legend Jirachi.
I want a cool new spinoff game
I hope they tell us that trainers, gym etc scale with the amount of badges (or whatever this game has) because otherwise making it open world would be pointless
The most important thing to me is what to call the region, since, as I am a human, I must give names to all things.
(I've been calling it Iber because uncreative.)
@IronMan30 I thought that was me after Sw/Sh and BD/SP. Then they go and drag me back in with this open world thing, damn it.
I just want to see that they’ve made some technical improvements to the game. It might be too late, but I can hope.

@Bret just when you thought you were out, they pull you back in!
I want them to take their time on the game. That means delaying it, give their workers some time to actually relax in between work hours, and ensure the quality that the series was once known for.
That's my personal wish of course. I know other people will enjoy it regardless and that's fine of course! Who knows though, maybe they'll be able to convince me again after all.
less phone crap. More actual games. Where is Detective Pikachu? Can we get Stadium on NSO? What other side games that they offer?
I'm hoping they don't reveal too much like they did for Sun/Moon.
Detective Pikachu 2 news would be great.
@CorePrideX I want a Legends Mew. We know a lot about Mewtwo, but not much about Mew.
Let’s go Pokémon Sleep
Splatoon 3 lol!
Whatever happens, I'm hoping that everyone adjusts their expectations accordingly.
I'm most excited for the toxic fandom meltdown regardless of how good the presentation is.
I would LOVE a DLC to Arceus... but i don't believe so.
Pokken Tournament 2. Literally the only Pokemon game I could be interested in
@CorePrideX yeah I could still go for more arceus content. It will be hard to ever go back for the traditional way of catching for me.
@Mando44646
Pokemon Stadium minigames with multiplayer online
The new gimmick. Let’s see how competitive gets shaken up.
I'd actually like to see Pokemon Sleep. For Scarlet/Violet I'd like to see overworld shiny pokemon. That will get me to buy the game.
If they don't show Pokemon Sleep, then I'm sure it's been quietly cancelled.

More sexy cave girls.

@IronMan30 Honestly? People complaining about people complaining about Pokemon are getting annoying at this point.
They are done with Pokemon? Ok... What's the problem with that?
@AlexanderDaniels Seeing how poor BDSP were... I prefer they just left those games alone or do a Pokemon Arceus style side game with gen 2.
@Axecon I WISH we get a Pokemon Mystery Dungeon anything. Even a remake of Explorers of Sky would be amazing at this point.
@jowe_gw if you're done with it, you don't need to announce it. This isn't an airport.
Pokemon S/V
I don't even know what Pokemon sleep is?
Lots of brand spanking new to the game Pokemon.
"What are you hoping to see from Pokémon Scarlet and Violet?"
Lechonk
I'd like to see how the open world works as that seems to be the coolest part (so far).

A new Eeveelution. It's about time Eevee got a new evolution, possibly a dragon type or even a normal type I would like to see.
What did I miss? What is pokemon sleep???? Haha
To just be silly, ill go against the person who said less phone crap, I want more phone crap!

Im just over here like... I would love to see Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Explorers DX or a new PMD game...
If theres any last minute DLC / improvements for BDSP and Legends Arceus ... ahem... im here for that as well...!
Still waiting for a release date for Pokémon TCG Live as they said it’s suppose to come out this year but we still don’t have even the beta here in the states yet. But mainly expecting this one to focus on Scarlet and Violet which is cool since I plan on buying it

@Jhena My guess is because "Dexit" was and is a thing with Pokemon now.
@jowe_gw cool
It would be nice to see a difficulty setting. I don't need to be told how to throw a Pokeball for the umpteenth time. Maybe kids are the target audience, but a large portion of their base are grown up now and have cash to drop on nostalgia.
@IronMan30 Great answer there!
@theshirecat Oh? What are you saying? That you want more CHARIZARD FORMS!?
@jowe_gw Yes. I need 151 Charizard forms
@theshirecat OOOHH. I like that. As many Charizard forms as Pokemon in gen 1. That's two layers of gen 1 references.

@RareFan Literal facts
When I saw her I was in love...
@Jhena Oh my... I haven't even thought about that interpretation of Dexit.
Yes, (the article and) I was refeering to the cut of Pokemon since SWSH, not about Germany leaving the EU.
@jowe_gw The hell's a squirtle?
@RubyCarbuncle
Spectreon, the edgelord ghost-type Eevee when?!
Pokémon Stadium 2 for NSO & Pokken Tournament 2. Also a new Pikachu’s Volleyball game.
… Wun can only hope.
@wuntyme8 I don't think we're getting the Stadium games until GB for NSO is announced.
