@Old_Man_Nintendo if I remember correctly, EA had a bunch of games in development for the Wii U back when Wii U was officially revealed in 2011, but then Nintendo went against using EA's Origin service and just all of a sudden a bunch of EA's games weren't able to run on the Wii U with the exception of Madden NFL '13, Need For Speed: Most Wanted and Mass Effect 3.

I wouldn't mind seeing a port of Sims 3 with all of it's expansions!

Lol people were doing something similar way back in the days of Socom on PS2. They would turn off their router, move their character around, then turn the router back on.

I'm glad all these ports of old PS2 and PS3 era games are being rereleased. It gives me an extra chance to play them as I only had a GCN and Wii back then. I'm looking forward to getting these, some DOOM games, & Saints Row games pretty soon.

A lot of other people have already said it, but Samus would be a better fit for Overwatch.

On the other hand, Link would work really well in Paladins.

@nessisonett I've always wanted to play Horizon: Zero Dawn (if that's the "Horizon" that you're talking about). I also haven't played any Yoshi's Island game, but I did give the Yoshi's Crafted World demo a go. My two 5 year old nephews loved it.

I haven't been interested in anything by EA since that whole Mass Effect 3 on Wii U debacle. I have ME3 on my Wii U, it's a great game, but it sucks that they released it on the same day that they put the trilogy on PS4 & XB1 for the same price.

I also tried Madden NFL '13 on the Wii U. I took it to my local used game shop a week after I bought it because i like playing my NFL 2K games on my Sega Dreamcast better lol.

I am really into hero shooters like Paladins, though, and I can't wait for Overwatch to arrive on Switch! I've also been watching a few streamers playing Apex Legends and I'm hoping that game makes it over, too.

I'm afraid I won't be playing much of anything for the foreseeable future as far as my Switch is concerned. My neon red & blue Joy-Con both have Joy-Con drift and my printer is out of ink so I can't print out a shipping label to get them repaired.

So far, the only kind of games that I have are the free-to-play kind with Brawlhalla being the only one that can be played offline. The problem there is that the only way I can get online is through my phone's hotspot. It worked fine for about 3 months up until about a week ago when my phone service provider revealed to me and one other via Twitter that tethering other devices to my phone to allow internet access with their service was against their terms and conditions.

I do have a PC with Sims 3, but it crashes a lot, a PS2 with DBZ: Budokai 2 & SSX3, and a Dreamcast with lots of games, but it's annoying to have to change out the RCA cables every time I want to play one or the other. I also have a Wii U, but that console and controller both are in need repairs.

I'm a bit late to this, but I've been playing Paladins, Realm Royale, & the Dragon Quest XI demo. Speaking of DQXI, that game is the first turn-based RPG game that I actually like!

However, both of my Joy-Con's are suffering from Joy-Con drift and I have no other controller to use at the moment, so I may not be able to play my Switch for a while depending on how long it takes for Nintendo to fix them...

@thiz Panic Button isn't the only port house that can do good on Switch. Virtuous handled the Switch ports of L.A. Noir & Dark Souls and they're working on the Switch version of The Outer Worlds. They also collaborated with Ubisoft on the Switch version of Starlink.

While I'm at it, I'll throw in QLOC with their work on the Switch port of Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice.

This would be all well and good if I didn't just buy an OG Switch just about 2 months ago.

@FullMetalWesker @keihtg I believe it was also the first game to feature 3D animated fire, but I could be wrong. It seems like I read it in a gaming magazine back in the day.

Having all these Doom games being released on modern consoles is great news! I've never been a PC gamer outside of The Sims, Black & White, and Duke Nukem 3D, so I've never played a Doom game. I did have an N64, but never had Doom for that, either.

That's not to say that I don't like FPS games, though. I loved Goldeneye, Perfect Dark, and Turok 1 & 2. Quake III Arena and Unreal Tournament are still some of my favorite DC games. I also really liked Metroid Prime and can't wait for Metroid Prime 4! I even had the Goldeneye remake and CoD: MW3 both on Wii and when I get my Wii U working again, I might be back to playing CoD: Ghosts.

All that said, I do have a question about the Doom 3 rerelease for Switch, PS4, and XB1. Is it just the original Doom 3, or is it actually Doom 3: BFG Edition?

Great article! I've used it since 2017 to late last year when my Wii U Gamepad got broke. I may end up using it again when I get this game for my Switch.

I was thinking that if the Switch version of Rebel Galaxy Outlaw turns out to be good - and I really hope it does - then maybe Double Damage Games could try to partner up with Nintendo for a mainline Star Fox game. They've already tried to pitch a new Star Wars game to EA, which got shot down.

I bought my Switch just a few days ago, but I haven't had enough money to buy any games. I have been playing a few freebies, though, such as Fortnite & Brawlhalla! I'll also be playing Paladins as soon as it's done downloading.

I've been playing it a little bit since I got my Switch a few days ago. I like it alright, but I don't like the whole building aspect of it, though.

At the moment, I'm downloading Paladins and hoping Realm Royal comes to Switch soon.

The art style in this looks great, but you guys lost me at "point and click". I can't stand those kinds of games and yes I have played Myst. If I want to "point and click" something, I'll get my gun and go hunting lol.

@Ryu_Niiyama Cool. I used to have this for my Wii U, but I didn't like it as much as IV, but if I had a Switch I'd still pick it up for the DLC & because my niece & nephews loved it.

So is this exclusive to Switch, or is it also coming to PS4 & XB1?

@Heavyarms55 I love Crunchyroll, but I haven't gone to the Crunchyroll website since I got the VRV app that they made. I'd much rather have VRV on Switch since it has access to all of Crunchyroll's anime and live action stuff as well as other channels like Hidive, Shudder, and more.

I found out about VLC when I came across the .ogm file format a few years ago. I've been using it over WMP ever since.

If Doom, Wolfenstein II, & Doom Eternal are doable on the Switch, then I don't see why Call of Duty can't come over, too.

I still have the box that my Wii U came in. I'm not willing to sell my Wii U, though. I am, however, willing to get my Wii U Gamepad fixed/replaced whenever I get the money. Makes me so sad every time I look up at my small Wii U game collection and think about how I haven't been able to play any one of them in so long.

With this & Dragon Ball Heroes: World Mission on the Switch, I wonder how long it'll be before we start seeing card battle games from Pokemon & Yu-Gi-Oh show up. I've never been into card battle games or TCG's, but I do remember playing a demo of a Yu-Gi-Oh card battle game a couple of decades ago on my Acer Aspire PC and I remember thinking it was kinda fun.

@Chayshirin I get what you're saying, but technically @Anti-Matter is not wrong. EA hasn't changed.

This kinda reminds me of Pipe Dream on the NES. My dad loved that game.

@InklingLegend I've never played a Doom game, either, but from what I've heard, it's kinda like Legend of Zelda. Doom Guy is the protagonist who's reborn every time evil demons begin to rear their ugly heads. I don't subscribe to this theory, but this video does point out a lot of commonalities:
