@ArthurFan1998 there are difficulty options in Dread as well. If you like Metroid, Dread is an incredible entry. If I can finish it, anyone can, trust me. It just has a bit of a learning curve the first 20 minutes or so.

I do think the Arcade Archives 2 games are way overpriced, but I’m a sucker for them and bought this one day one. It’s shallow as heck but very satisfying to play for a half hour at a time.

@MamaSymphonia actually very true, and I agree with another response above - unless a game is broken and unplayable it shouldn’t get a 4/10 or similar score. I’m 50/50 on buying this one, but would never give something that is polished and loaded with enough content a failing grade. Not every game is for everyone, but that doesn’t make it terrible and some of these reviewers need to understand that. The Metacritic score thing has become almost a parody of itself this last couple of generations. If a game doesn’t just blow everyone away and get 90+ it’s viewed as not worth playing. Folks call games with scores in the high 80’s flops and and failures. It’s causing studios to play it safe and we get more cookie cutter “safe” releases.

Yeah, no. It absolutely should be backwards compatible.

TOTK is fantastic (picked up on launch day), but if Metroid Prime 4 happens to release on Switch, I’d say it will be the best Switch game visually and performance-wise (if Prime Remastered is any indication of what’s in store). I think there’s still a bit of life in the Switch, although we’re most likely nearing the end.

Bought it day one for the PS5. Great collection and love the extras.

It’s nice but I’m perfectly happy with my Mario Red Edition. Won’t upgrade until this one dies or the new next gen console arrives.

Metroid Prime Remastered.

Lucky to get the last copy at my local GameStop. Hope everyone who is looking gets theirs soon as well.

@Dezzy70 I have the Mario Edition and love it, but my kiddo has the white OLED model and it looks soooo good.

Mario Red + Blue is the one I have, and it’s the best in my opinion. Had to have it as soon as I saw it.

Just finished Metroid Dread and am planning to dive in to some of the GB/GBA classics. Next is Kirby and the Forgotten Land. Patiently waiting for Metroid Prime Remastered Physical.

Blast Corp and Diddy Kong racing for sure. Would also like Perfect Dark and Conker’s Bad Fur Day.

Definitely a fun game and worth a playthrough.

Played and completed on GamePass. Highly recommended. It’s is a fantastic old-school FPS.

I still have an N64 and a ton of games. It’s still a lot of fun to be able to play them on a nice TV via Switch. I’ll take some minor trade offs here and there. Hopefully they’ll be able to tweak things a little bit. Overall I’d say they’ve done a good job in putting these games on the service, and I don’t have too many complaints.

Still don’t understand why everybody hates this game so much. I genuinely enjoy it.

Fantastic week for the Expansion Pack. If they keep up this pace I’m going to be happy with the service. F-Zero X is a favorite and Alien Soldier is a really great Genesis title.

Day one buy for me.

I have one of the new ones. Great quality and feels right. Worth getting if you loved the N64. But this is a cool solution.

Now the news reports would say it’s good to keep your child away from others. That you are not the boss of them and they should be able to express themselves however they want LOL.

I played lots of games as a kid but we always went outside, played sports, hung out with neighborhood kids, etc. It was then and is now about balance.

I have so many gaming regrets I could write a mid-size book.

I have other regrets but I’ve rectified many of my mistakes. I now also have many classic consoles I was never able to own in my younger days. So I guess it all worked out. I still miss my original 2 consoles though.

Got in on the Switch late, but glad I did. I’ve had every Nintendo console except the Wii U. Glad I got a Switch.

They’re all great! Golden Axe and Strider are two early favorites. Gunstar Heroes is fantastic. Streets of Rage 2 will be great on multiplayer. Shinobi III…perfection! And Castlevania Bloodlines is one of the best in the series. I have all these games, but so glad others will get to play them.

Fantastic. Retro games on the Switch are one of my favorite things. Can’t wait to see what they bring out.

I love Sega and the Genesis (obviously), but I doubt that this handful of games was source of the huge price increase. These games are indeed available many other places cheaply. I think it’s just more added value in the eyes of Nintendo. Younger gamers are not going to play many of the N64 games either. At the end of the day, only you can decide if it’s worth it or not. I for one am excited and I’ve wasted more money than what they’re asking on a bad game more than once. Is is higher than what I expected? Sure. Is it still within the realm of doable? Yes. This is not an especially cheap hobby and it’s not a required purchase. Vote with your wallet and they’ll either get the message, or more likely not care. Any purchase of the expansion pack is just more money for them. Nintendo has proven time and again that they are going to do their own thing, regardless of what the vocal crowd wants. I’m not happy with the price, but I’ll pay it because I want to play those games on my Switch.
Most people here (me included) decried the Switch OLED not being a “worth it” upgrade, but many (myself included) pre-ordered or went and bought one day one. Nintendo knows that people are going to buy their products however they put them out.

Switch - put some good time in on Super Mario Odyssey yesterday. Also played some Cruis’n Blast.

@Brommel yes, was very excited by these releases but will be passing. I read the input lag was not just noticeable, but laughably severe.

Got the white one for my Kiddo. I’m sticking with my Mario Edition.

I would (will) buy a physical copy of this.

Got my daughter one this morning. She loves it. Having issues getting her Animal Crossing data ported over though, the tool is not working. 😢

@NintenGuy it has reviewed well at other sites and online. My point was, Metacritic isn’t the end-all be-all on whether a game is great. Maybe it’s not a game for you at $40, that’s fine.

Folks, the Retro-Bit 6-button work on the Switch. Non-issue.

Have played a lot of this game on Xbox and PS5. It’s a LOT of fun.

Just ignore everyone else saying it’s a great game. Trust Metacritic scores implicitly, never decide for yourself, and don’t play anything that’s not a 90+.

The GC was my only console (at the time) of that generation. Later I got an Xbox, and much later a PS2, but I really enjoyed the GamCube. Resident Evil, the Lord of the Rings games, Rogue Squadron, etc.
