They really be releasing a game with only one court (cosmetics don't count) that has zero gimmicks, a neutered roster and missing side activities in 2022. This game will most likely only take you one or two hours to experience the full package which is quite frankly insulting at this point. Tennis Aces and Star Rush(ed) definitely had their flaws but they at least had a story mode (as half-baked as they were) and multiple courses to give you SOME dime for your buck. The only thing saving this game from receiving the same amount of scorn as those two games got is that Next Level Games has a (currently) very favourable perception amongst most Nintendo fans and that the animations in the game are admittedly stellar but those don't change the fact that this release is arguably the most lazy, cynical and half-baked of all the Switch era Mario sports games.
I love the idea behind it and I think it would look great during short bursts but playing a 30hr long game with this art style would REALLY start to strain on the eyes at about the 3 hour mark so I'm personally mixed on it.
What makes me sad is that the frequent updates to the system PLUS them extending the length of the season 1 battle pass pretty much tells us that they KNOW the season pass system is utter b*llshit and everybody despises it but for some reason they're so adamant on keeping it and seeing if people will eventually come around to it (spoiler alert: they won't).
What makes me sad is that I was actually quite excited to pick this up. I wasn't going in expecting a successor to Mario Kart or anything but it looked like a cute, cartoony kart racer that contained a story mode and was right up my alley. The second however they introduced the season pass my interest went immediately out of the window and will continue staying there until they stop shoving crayons up their noses and actually remove this crummy, predatory system that literally NOBODY views in a favourable light.
Easy day one buy for me, the game looks absolutely incredible! This is the first Nintendo game I can think of in years where I literally have zero issues with how the game looks pre-release, it's honestly amazing how perfect of a conversion to 3D this game looks when this is the first time the company has really dipped their toes into making a 3d Kirby game.
Basically just six minutes of what they've already showed us with VERY brief snippets of new footage spliced in between. NOT a good sign for a game that comes out in three weeks and it we still have almost zero ideas of what the game will provide outside of the core gameplay loop which looks like it'll get old after about an hour.
Like is this seriously just going to be "Throw Pokeballs: The Game"? Like at least SW/SH and BDSP had side content to try (and fail) and give the game variety...
@iLikeUrAttitude People will be quick to bring up "Yeah but we knew very little about Pokemon Sword & Shield just before they came out! They're intentionally hiding information to make room for surprises!" but I just want to say two things:
1) SW/SH turned out god awful so that's REALLY not the smoking gun that a lot of people think it is
2) While I would generally agree that a developer releasing VERY little information about a game before launch is usually a good thing because it makes room for surprises, in Pokemon's case literally everytime they've done that it's because the game has so little to offer that they sort of HAVE to hide information before the game launches because otherwise they'll spoil the entire game.
I generally try not to be 'Mr Doom & Gloom' and approach new things with an open mind but considering how awful Pokemon's track record has been since Ultra Sun & Moon, I have very little hopes that this game will turn out good, especially considering how bad and barebones the overworld segments look which is the feature of the game that the developers are REALLY try to sell the consumers on.
The gameplay is most likely just going to be: go out to field, catch pokemon to fill dex, battle a rare mon, rinse and repeat. I highly doubt there will be an interesting plot, meaningful side-quests, any form of side activities (stuff like minigames) and in typical modern Pokemon fashion, any kind of postgame to keep the player coming back once the main campaign is over.
Considering the game is out in just THREE WEEKS and the developers have barely shown anything about the game outside of how the battle system works, a few characters and the aforementioned barren fields, I predict this game is going to extremely light in content and general gameplay variety. I would love to be wrong but at this point I think it's easy to figure out why I'm going into new Pokemon games with a cynical eye.
I'm prepared to get a lot of flack for this but Chrono Trigger is easily one of the most overhyped and overrated games I've ever played. The game is an okay 7/10 experience at best that everyone and their grandmothers heralds as a undisputed 10/10 masterpiece of game design and I just....don't get it.
Some are really cute/cool and could possibly pass off as real designs in an official Pokemon game. Others are nothing short of Pokemonised (that's a word I just made up) biblically accurate angels that will haunt my worst nightmares.
Not yet, I was considering on getting a shiny Piplup but I decided to just go for a regular starter as there is a small cutscene that plays before you get your first Pokemon and I couldn't be bothered watching that for potentially up to 1,000 times.
Speaking of Gen IV games and shiny's, I remember this one time years ago when I was playing Platinum and I literally bumped into two shiny Pokemon back to back and feeling like an absolute champion. I've never had that level of luck since xD
Surprised though that Rock Pikmin ended up winning the most popular Pikmin type poll, I remember when Pikmin 3 was first announced they were fairly unpopular for how unconventional they were! (was expecting red or purple to win tbh)
My favourite type is blue simply because that's my favourite colour. My reasoning is that simple xD
Pikmin is my favourite franchise of all time so every game are 10/10 masterpieces in my eyes but my (potentially controversial take is): Pikmin 1 > 3 Deluxe > 3 Wii U > Pikmin 2 (that game is still brilliant though!)
Having Pikmin 1 as my favourite probably comes across as a boomer take, especially since it's a 4 hour game that feels like a beta compared to both 2 & 3 which both expanded the franchise in so many ways but one thing that Pikmin 1 completely destroys both Pikmin 2 & 3 is conveying an excellent atmosphere where it feels like you're truly lost and alone in a weird, alien planet.
Pikmin 2 always felt way too upbeat and cheerful in my eyes (which narratively makes sense since Olimar is already aware of the dangers that await him and the end goal (for the first half at least) was nowhere near as serious or personal in comparison to his fight for survival in the 1st game) which kind of clashed with the 'alien' vibe of the game and Pikmin 3, while a lot more 'alien' and foreboding than Pikmin 2 still didn't feel quite as tense as Pikmin 1 did. What I'm trying to say is, Pikmin 1 is and will always be the one that has me the most invested whenever I play through the game and I always strive to 100% whenever I start a new playthrough (which is once every year).
It's sad the only thing on this list that's guaranteed to come up back is the Brewster and the Roost but I feel like even that's going to be horribly neutered at launch, sort of how bare-bones the Dream Suite was when it was first added and got more features in future updates (seriously, why the f*ck did they apply the slow-feed release model to in-game features!).
To be honest though, Nintendo has given me very little reason or hope that this update will be anything substantial considering how crappy almost of the updates have been on top of the fact that Nintendo have made it perfectly clear they've moved away from the slice-of-life aspect of the game in favour of the very flawed decorating/customisation aspect.
This update is going to be this games' last chance to win me over. If it fails to stick the landing (which it most likely will), I'll most likely just end up selling it.
It was good but I don't think it was "jump and down" worthy like the E3 2021 presentation was for me. Except from Kirby, which DOES look extremely promising and got me hyped, most of the announcements I either watched with a stone cold face (with a quick glance at my phone to check the time) or simply smiled and went "oh that's cool!".
Mario Party Superstars went from a 'guaranteed day 1 purchase' to a 'I'll pick this up with I'm in a gaming drought and want something amusing to fill in the time purchase' because the trailer makes it seem like the whole game is going to be 5 boards (and not the best ones either, where the hell is Mario's Rainbow Castle & Western Land???) and a minigame mode which is giving me severe Super Mario Party 2.0 vibes (begging to be wrong on that one). Also the only time ever I was praying for the announcer to say "and free content will be added in later months!" because I'm worried this game will meet a similar fate to SPM where it releases clearly unfinished and it's just left to die. Gold mine opportunity to add in extra characters, boards and a plethora of other features, PLEASE dont mess it up Nintendo/Nd Cube.
Splatoon 3 simultaneously excited me and disappointed me. Excited me because the gameplay looks as addiciting as ever so I know it's going to be great on a surface level, but the story mode mostly consisting of that "platforms in the sky" style and not more open areas like the first trailer suggested, plus the enemy faction (as of right now anyway) once again being Octarians is a MASSIVE missed opportunity to break the mold and capitilise on the new setting by introducing a brand new enemy faction. Still excited regardless.
Animal Crossing I really don't care for at this point. The fact that we're getting a direct in October and not just a small 1:30 minute trailer gives me SLIGHT hope that the update is not going to just consist of Brewster (relaxing atmosphere and drinking coffee can only go so far before it's get boring) and be a fairly substantial update (finally version 2.0???) but I'm not holding my breath since the last noteworthy update released back in July 2020.
NSO Expansion Pack I'm mixed on. Really cool to finally get N64 games (plus Sega Mega Drive) on the Switch and online play is really appreciated but the fact they purposely omitted the price tag raises MAJOR red flags for me (extra £5-10 I can handle, £15 you're pushing it, £20+ you can frankly go f*ck yourselfs Nintendo).
Bayo 3 I'm sure is great news for hardcore fans of the series who have been waiting for ages for an update but as someone who's never played Bayo before the announcement personally didn't do anything for me. I'm still really happy for the fans though and the game DOES look really fun so I definitely wouldn't call it a bad annoucnement!
Purposefully looked away during the Metroid Dread part because I really feel like they're entering spoiler overload with this game and I want there to be some room of surprises for the final release but I think that game already looks amazing so I didn't miss much.
Chocobo GP looked really cute! It's obviously not going to be a Mario Kart killer or a MK9 substitute (don't know why some people are implying it will) but I'm still excited to try it out!
Illuminiation Mario starring Chris Pratt.....can't decide if I'm morbidly curious or absolutely horrified by that discovery!
Overall, a pretty good Direct that sadly had the best announcement leaked a head of time and one I think I went in with too many lofty expectations (I was dead set on Xenoblade 3 being present because of the leaks surrounding it). 2022 is definitely shaping up to be a banger of a year though!
I'm not too shocked that this game is fairly underwhelming in its current state, the moment this game got revealed in the October partner showcase my immediate thought was "hoo boy this smells of half-baked rush job". I feel like this game was supposed to come out around August 2021 (the month were the final batch of DLC drops) in a finished state but for whatever reason they decided to bump the release up to a February 2021 timeslot instead and patch the rest of the game in at later dates. Between this and Rune Factory 5, it's so clearly obvious that the team is putting all their time and effort into RF5 as their big 'main' project while Pioneers of Olive Town was probably a side project that was made to keep consumers preoccupied while they wait for RF5 to come out.
Welp, that's this franchise dead again. Real shame because I genuinely thought Pikmin being on a really successful console for a change would have have increased its sales, not the opposite (in the UK at the very least).
Shame because this port is actually one of the better ones with a plethora of new content, unlike DK Tropical Freeze and New Super Mario Bros U Deluxe which were the exact same games but with one new character or new power-up.
Also, while I know people usually dislike games getting delayed especially with how empty Nintendo's 2020 line-up has been this year, this game should have absolutely got delayed to sometime next year when it wasn't fighting tooth and nail with other major hot Nintendo releases (Age of Calamity is highly anticipated and 3D All Stars is STILL being discussed, even if it's mainly negative) and the upcoming release of the PS5 and Xbox One Series X so that it had some chance to be in the spotlight.
So is this going to become the norm with highly anticipated Nintendo Switch releases? The exact same thing happened with Super Mario Maker 2, FE: Three Houses, Astral Chain and NOW it's happening again with AC: New Horizons.
While people DO admittedly have valid reasons to voice their grievances with the overall quality for SMM2 and AC:NH (SMM2 missing online multiplayer features and AC:NH having a very asinine solution to cloud saves and a rather anti-consumer business practice of locking players to one island per Switch), I don't think that should be enough to render all the positive aspects of those games completely null and treat them like their unplayable garbage. IMO, both games deserve an 8/10, they DO have flaws but I say their overall great gaming experiences.
Oh and if anyone tries to defend the review bombings for Astral Chain and Three Houses, all of I got to say is don't throw that nonsense at my face. You all know the only reason why those two particular games got mass bombed were because salty playstation players were upset because they couldn't play those games on their preferred console of choice, despite them being the same people who costantly mocked and belittled Nintendo fanboys for demanding Persona 5 to come to the Switch.
@HappyMaskedGuy You seem a little salty and quick to resort to insulting people who dare have the nerve to oppose a nitpick that barely holds any weight. I never once said that I'm impressed about how the game is turning out and I also think that the game is heavily underperforming in certain areas and have plenty of complaits (e.g. GameFreak lying to their consumers about why they're cutting the national dex) but I guess in NintendoLife having a nuanced opinion is illegal and is instead much easier to immediately label someone as a """"sucker"""" if they dare try to defend one aspect of the game. Also, I unfortunately don't drink Kool-Aid, I instead like to drink orange juice since it is much more organic and healthier for your body.
@ALinkttPresent Sorry if my comment sounded very over- exaggerated that wasn't my attention. I was just hoping that if they were to make another Yooka-Laylee game it would retain the same gameplay style of the first game instead of completely altering it and making it a more traditional 2D platformer (which I'm personally sick to death of). But there is a high chance that they have another 3D platformer in store for the future so I won't complain too much.
While I think the game looks cute and will most likely be better than the first one, I'm really disappointed that the developers have seemingly dropped making 3D platformers and instead decided to go the safe and (imo) boring route of 2.5D platformers. While the first Yooka-Laylee was far from a great game and suffered immensly for feeling very outdated, I at least liked the fact that it was trying to revive the long-dormant 3D collectathon genre and if Playtonic were to ever make a sequel, i'd hope they would iron out the flaws of the first one and build upon the template and create a much more polished 3D platforming experience instead of entirely giving up on trying to improve on it.
Debating on whether to watch this or not. I don't want to watch it because I want to go into this game almost completely blind and avoid any spoilers but at the same time I want to watch because I want to something to get excited and hyped over. Decisions, decisions, decisions...
My standpoint on this is that I personally don't mind this being real AS LONG as there's still physical editions of all these games with the game cartridge inside it being released alongside the physical editions of the games that only have a download code inside. If the cartridge editions are being completely replaced by the download code editions, that's when I'll have a big gripe with this business practice and voice my complaints.
Some people are actually mad or shocked that it doesn't look as impressive as Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. Dear lord... this is a mobile game...it's not rocket science on why this game looks more like Mario Kart Wii/7 than it does 8 Deluxe.
I wouldn't let the 50 on Metacritic get people down or become sceptical in seeing the movie. For some reason movies on Metacritic tend to get very average to negative scores compared to their Rotten Tomatoes/IMDB counterpart. A great example of was with Infinity War, which got an 85% on RT but only a score of 68 on Metacritic. Not saying that metacritic scores should be completely shunned aside and ignored but I just wanted to let people be aware that Metacritic movie scores tend to be much lower than the RT/IMDB ones. Honestly, the fact that the movie has a fresh score on Rotten Tomatoes shows that for a video game movie it must have done something right.
@Tarolusa A easier way of digesting that previous long comment is breaking up the release dates in much greater detail:
*The wait between Smash Bros Ultimate and Yoshi's Crafted World was 16 weeks
*The wait between Crafted World and Mario Maker 2 will be 13 weeks
*The next major release after Mario Maker 2 will be (unless you live in Japan where it will be FE: Three Houses but even then that will only be a measly 4 week) will be Dragon Quest Builders 2 which will release only 2 weeks after Mario Maker
*If you lived in the west, in July Dragon Quest Builders 2, Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3 and Fe: Three Houses will all release back to back from one another, meaning that unless we count smaller games (e.g. Travis Strikes Back and ports (e.g. NSMBU & FF10/12 HD), July alone will have more new major releases than all of Jan-Jun 2019 COMBINED.
*Five weeks after FE: Three Houses comes out, Astral Chain will release on August 30th but also just remember that Daemon x Machina could easily release any time between June to August so for all we know Daemon X Machina could be an early June release or come out just before Astral Chain to act as a stop-bridge game
*September to December will see the release for all Animal Crossing Switch, Dragon Quest XI Switch, Pokemon Sword/Shield, Luigi's Mansion 3 and Link's Awakening Switch which means that at least one of those months will have two games or possibly even three of them releasing all around the same time.
In summary, compare the completely barren Dec 2018-Jun 2019 (only three major new releases, one of them coming out at the end of June so it barely avoids being a second half 2019 game) to the compact July 2019-Dec 2019. It doesn't take a genius to see that A LOT more is happening in the latter in comparison to the former. The only thing I can hope for is that 2020 will end up being a lot more balanced in game releases than both 2018 and 2019 were.
Really glad to hear that Animal Crossing Switch is still currently planned for a 2019 release! If that game got delayed, I honestly feel like I would slip into a small depression ...
However looking at the release schedule for the remainder of the year and then looking back at what's released for far up until April 25th, one thing that I really hope Nintendo gets sorted out by the time 2020 rolls around is completely reworking and fixing their release schedules. Don't get me wrong, while the second half of this year looks like it will an incredibly robust one for Switch owners, only releasing ONE new major release for most one half of the year and then pumping around NINE major releases for the latter portion of the year is a horribly lopsided release schedule and could possibly lead to some people getting completely burnt out with all the new games releasing in such a short period of time. Hopefully by the time 2020 rolls around Nintendo are able to release a steady flow of games for both portions of the year in order to avoid a massive game drought (like most of 2018 and Jan-May 2019) or new game overload (Jun-Dec 2019).
I played the first mission and then immediately stopped because I could tell that this game was absolutely not for me and judging by all the comments it seems like it's a disappointment to many. Shame because you can tell that the developers do have a vision behind it and seeing new IP's on a Nintendo system is always a nice thing to see but with the rate the game is going at, I see this being a merely decent game at best that will get completely forgotten about in a few months down the line. Hope that the developers take the critique they get too heart and make massive improvements to the game, both in and out of combat.
So.....let me get this straight: Kirby's Extra Epic Yarn on March 8th, then Unravel 2 on March 22nd and then finally Yoshi's Crafted World on March 29th? Welp looks like I'll die of yarny cuteness overload guys! Sad I won't get to see what lies on April and onwards xD -
Granted this is just a rumour as well as being far from everybody's cup of tea but I pray to god that this game is real. The sound of a Star Fox racing game behind the helm of Retro Studios (who are now also working on Metroid Prime 4 so zip it Metroid fans) that's apparently coorperating an adventure-like mode sounds exactly like my cup of tea. Not to mention it will also be a great way to get the franchise out of it's rut because sorry people, the last good Star Fox game was SF64 and the on-rail shooter is a VERY outdated genre that only captures the attention of a very niche crowd.
Also, if you were forced to choose between a racing spin-off that sounds like it could hold a lot of potential and give the franchise a source of long overdue fresh air or ANOTHER Star Fox 64 reboot except this time with slightly prettier graphics what would you choose?
Speaking of glitches have the two Isabelle related glitches been patched out yet? They've been well known (and spread all over the internet) for at least a month now so plenty of time has passed for them to be fixed.
Just curious does anybody know if this game is getting a physical copy in Europe? I've seen some people say it won't while others say it will so I'm kinda confused
Awesome I've been waiting for these two games to drop. Can't wait to play for the first time in April. As for physical releases, I think they'll both get one (thank the lords!). As Spectra mentioned above, a physical Switch copy of FF12 has been displayed on the site for a good while now and while that's not the same case for FFX/X2 HD if you check on twitter, the game doesn't have the #eShop label attached to it. While I know that's not the best piece of evidence to try and back up a claim it's still a difference from Okami HD which did have #eShop label attached to it when it was first announced.
That's also the same case for Katamari Damacy which only has the #eShop label attached to it on the Nintendo UK twitter account (still salty that Europe never got the game physically) but not for the North American one (while it was only a GameStop exclusive over there at least a physical copy still existed).
Again I know this shouldn't be used a cold hard facts but I do think they greatly raise the possibilities of the two games getting physical editions on the Switch.
Anytime I see something related to Star Fox, I immediately remember that Star Fox: Grand Prix rumour and become sad because I really wanted that to be an actual game I know a lot of people will not agree with that sentiment but even half a year later I still think it could have been a really cool idea and awesome game if it was executed properly. On the actual content though, yeah all of these do look amazing, especially the DKC and aforementioned Star Fox ones!
@Ooccoo_Jr That's why I loved both Yoshi's Island and Woolly World (aswell as Epic Yarn but that's obviously not a Yoshi game xD) so much. Not only were they great in the gameplay department, they also excelled in their artistry which made them not only fun to play but also a wonderful way to just relax and take things easy. Since Crafted World looks like it will be no different from Yoshi's Island and Crafted World in that front, that' why I can't wait to play it.
@BlueOcean I know the Switch boxes aren't similar to the DS/3DS boxes, I was referring back to a previous response I got that brought up the hypothetical question if what if the Switch boxes were similar to the DS styled ones.
@Ooccoo_Jr Yeah now that I think about it, I don't think anybody, especially me, have actually talked about the actual game itself. Just like you I can't wait to get my hands on this game! The beautiful, charming art direction alone is enough for me to buy this day one (I already know I'm going to love the gameplay aspect so I don't have to take that into consideration)!
Part of why I'm so desperate to play it is because it's the first brand new 1st party Nintendo game since Xenoblade Chronicles 2 that's mostly single-player focused (barring Octopath Traveller but I'll go into more details below about that game below) and words can't begin to describe how much I crave one of those right now (Star Allies, Tennis Aces, Super Mario Party and Smash Ultimate are more multiplayer-focused in my eyes. The Let's Go games, while single-player focused where mostly just trending on old ground without bringing anything substanially new to the table so they weren't enough to quench that 'new single-player experience' dilemma. Lastly as for Octopath Traveller no matter how hard I tried, I just could not get into that game. I spent 30hrs with the game but the game was just not engaging enough for me to continue so even that wasn't enough to fix my dilemma). As long as this game is more than 10hrs long and doesn't rely on multi-player to carry the game (yes while I appreciate Star Allies much more due to the new DLC, that was me taking a massive jab at it), then it will be enough to satisfy me as a brand new single-player experience.
@BlueOcean Difference there was that the 3DS was the direct successor to the DS so it having a similar box style was highly likely. The Switch on the other hand, is not related to the DS family at all and is it's own thing so it having a similar box style to DS/3DS would be VERY misleading and an awful marketing decision on Nintendo's part.
@BlueOcean Glad you went back and took a more thorough reading of the article. Sorry if it seemed like I was clawing down your throat, I was just trying to get my point across about why this is not a bad thing and judging by how stubborn and overly-negative people can be on this, I had to be as forceful as possible.
@Ooccoo_Jr Yeah that makes a lot of sense to me and going by your second statement, this is a practice that's actually been going on a for quite a while now (just under a different coat of paint) so why people are acting like this is a new, horrible discovery is beyond me.
@SmaggTheSmug I kinda feel like your grasping for any way to try to make a point but I'll give you the benefit of the doubt. Also if the Switch cases were the same size/shape as the 3DS ones, everybody would complain about how misleading the cases are.
@Painay I'll fully admit that I'm coming across as really heated and offended but it really bothers how somehow a business practise that for once actually benefits a large crowd of people is somehow a bad thing and shouldn't be done. I'm used to people on this site complaining about literally anything but but this is the first time where there is literally is nothing wrong with what's going on and yet somehow they twist into a negative.
@SmaggTheSmug Then buy the physical copy with the cartridge inside bam problem solved. Just because you don't like the idea of something doesn't make it a 'waste of resources' or 'needless trash'. Unaware to you, there actually people who might want to own the physical copy of the game but can't be bothering dealing with swapping the cartridges around. I know that sounds highly unlikely but there are some people like that that exist.

Re: Mario Strikers: Battle League's File Size Seemingly Revealed
Re: Random: The Perfect Pokémon Graphics Don't Exi... Oh
I love the idea behind it and I think it would look great during short bursts but playing a 30hr long game with this art style would REALLY start to strain on the eyes at about the 3 hour mark so I'm personally mixed on it.

I do think it'll be released this year but it will most definitely be a late November-December release.
I wouldn't be shocked though if they delayed until next year.

Re: Video: The Best RPG Ever Made Still Isn't On Switch
I'm prepared to get a lot of flack for this but Chrono Trigger is easily one of the most overhyped and overrated games I've ever played. The game is an okay 7/10 experience at best that everyone and their grandmothers heralds as a undisputed 10/10 masterpiece of game design and I just....don't get it.
Re: Random: These Bot-Generated Pokémon Might Be Better Than The Real Thing
Some are really cute/cool and could possibly pass off as real designs in an official Pokemon game. Others are nothing short of Pokemonised (that's a word I just made up) biblically accurate angels that will haunt my worst nightmares.
Re: Indie Darling Chicory: A Colorful Tale Is On The Switch, Right Now
@moodycat Nintendo fans when a game costs money and isn't giving to them for free
Re: Poll: Have You Caught A Shiny Pokémon In The Diamond And Pearl Remakes?
Not yet, I was considering on getting a shiny Piplup but I decided to just go for a regular starter as there is a small cutscene that plays before you get your first Pokemon and I couldn't be bothered watching that for potentially up to 1,000 times.
Speaking of Gen IV games and shiny's, I remember this one time years ago when I was playing Platinum and I literally bumped into two shiny Pokemon back to back and feeling like an absolute champion. I've never had that level of luck since xD
Re: Poll: Pikmin Is Now 20 Years Old - Which Is Your Favourite Game In The Series?
Surprised though that Rock Pikmin ended up winning the most popular Pikmin type poll, I remember when Pikmin 3 was first announced they were fairly unpopular for how unconventional they were! (was expecting red or purple to win tbh)
My favourite type is blue simply because that's my favourite colour. My reasoning is that simple xD
Re: Poll: Pikmin Is Now 20 Years Old - Which Is Your Favourite Game In The Series?
Re: Talking Point: What Would You Like To See From The Animal Crossing Direct?
Re: Poll: What's A Fair Price For The Nintendo Switch Online Expansion Pack?
To summarise my thoughts in very brief paragraphs:
-Extra £5-£10? I can live with that.
-Extra £15? Starting to push it.
-Extra 20? They can go f*ck themselves.
Knowing Nintendo though and how stingy they can be, I wouldn't put it past them to make the expansion pass an extra £30.
Re: Poll: What Did You Think Of Yesterday's Nintendo Direct?
Grade: B- (6.5/10)
Re: Nintendo's Metroid Dread Marketing Campaign Is Well Underway In Japan
I wonder how people on Nintendo Life will spin this into something negative. I'm genuinely curious of the results.
Re: Preview: Story of Seasons: Pioneers Of Olive Town Is Not Quite As Pioneering As We'd Hoped
Re: Pikmin 3 Opening Week Physical Sales Were Worse On Switch Than Wii U (UK)
Re: Angry Players Are Starting To Review-Bomb Animal Crossing: New Horizons
Re: Random: There Are More Than 20 Flavours Of The New Fairy-Type Pokémon Alcremie
Re: Random: There Are More Than 20 Flavours Of The New Fairy-Type Pokémon Alcremie
@HappyMaskedGuy Unown had different shapes because it was based off the alphabet, it HAD to have different models.
Re: Yooka-Laylee And The Impossible Lair Is Playtonic's Next Game, And It's Coming To Switch
Re: Sega Will Feature Mario & Sonic At The Olympic Games 2020, Mega Drive Mini And More At E3
All I want is dream events to return. If they don't come back and it's instead all real-life events again, I won't bother buying the game.
Re: Yooka-Laylee And The Impossible Lair Is Playtonic's Next Game, And It's Coming To Switch
Re: Reminder: Pokémon Direct To Air Tomorrow, 5th June
Debating on whether to watch this or not. I don't want to watch it because I want to go into this game almost completely blind and avoid any spoilers but at the same time I want to watch because I want to something to get excited and hyped over. Decisions, decisions, decisions...
Re: Bandai Namco Might Be Releasing Existing Physical Games With Download Codes
My standpoint on this is that I personally don't mind this being real AS LONG as there's still physical editions of all these games with the game cartridge inside it being released alongside the physical editions of the games that only have a download code inside.
If the cartridge editions are being completely replaced by the download code editions, that's when I'll have a big gripe with this business practice and voice my complaints.
Re: Mario Kart Tour Beta Test Details And Images Are Already Leaking Online
Some people are actually mad or shocked that it doesn't look as impressive as Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. Dear lord... this is a mobile game...it's not rocket science on why this game looks more like Mario Kart Wii/7 than it does 8 Deluxe.
Re: The Detective Pikachu Movie Reviews Are In, And It's Actually Pretty Mixed
Re: Nintendo Reconfirms Release Windows For The Biggest Switch Games Of 2019 And Beyond
Re: Nintendo Reconfirms Release Windows For The Biggest Switch Games Of 2019 And Beyond
Re: Reminder: Nintendo Sending Out Survey About Daemon X Machina Demo
I played the first mission and then immediately stopped because I could tell that this game was absolutely not for me and judging by all the comments it seems like it's a disappointment to many.
Shame because you can tell that the developers do have a vision behind it and seeing new IP's on a Nintendo system is always a nice thing to see but with the rate the game is going at, I see this being a merely decent game at best that will get completely forgotten about in a few months down the line.
Hope that the developers take the critique they get too heart and make massive improvements to the game, both in and out of combat.
Re: EA's Puzzle-Platformer Unravel Two Releases On The Switch eShop This March
So.....let me get this straight:
Kirby's Extra Epic Yarn on March 8th, then Unravel 2 on March 22nd and then finally Yoshi's Crafted World on March 29th?
Welp looks like I'll die of yarny cuteness overload guys! Sad I won't get to see what lies on April and onwards xD

Re: Rumour: That Star Fox Racing Game Rumour Is Doing Another Lap
Re: Here's Yet Another Smash Ultimate Glitch, This Time Making King K. Rool's Crown Ridiculously Large
Speaking of glitches have the two Isabelle related glitches been patched out yet? They've been well known (and spread all over the internet) for at least a month now so plenty of time has passed for them to be fixed.
Re: Dragon's Dogma On Switch Includes All DLC And Won't Need An Online Subscription, According To Amazon
Just curious does anybody know if this game is getting a physical copy in Europe? I've seen some people say it won't while others say it will so I'm kinda confused
Re: Final Fantasy X | X-2 HD Remaster And Final Fantasy XII Both Dated For Nintendo Switch
Re: Gallery: Check Out These Amazing Artwork Pieces Based On Your Favourite Games
@Scottwood101 Yeah and that was a really cool easter egg but that doesn't really have anything to do with that Star Fox: Grand Prix game itself.
Re: Gallery: Check Out These Amazing Artwork Pieces Based On Your Favourite Games
Re: Yoshi’s Crafted World Is Getting A Physical Release In Japan With Just A Download Code Inside
Re: Yoshi’s Crafted World Is Getting A Physical Release In Japan With Just A Download Code Inside
@BlueOcean I know the Switch boxes aren't similar to the DS/3DS boxes, I was referring back to a previous response I got that brought up the hypothetical question if what if the Switch boxes were similar to the DS styled ones.
Re: Yoshi’s Crafted World Is Getting A Physical Release In Japan With Just A Download Code Inside
@Samsamsam sigh just buy the physical copy of the game that has the cartridge inside blam problem solved. You ARE aware that's still an option right?
Re: Yoshi’s Crafted World Is Getting A Physical Release In Japan With Just A Download Code Inside
Re: Yoshi’s Crafted World Is Getting A Physical Release In Japan With Just A Download Code Inside
Re: Yoshi’s Crafted World Is Getting A Physical Release In Japan With Just A Download Code Inside
@BlueOcean Glad you went back and took a more thorough reading of the article. Sorry if it seemed like I was clawing down your throat, I was just trying to get my point across about why this is not a bad thing and judging by how stubborn and overly-negative people can be on this, I had to be as forceful as possible.
Re: Yoshi’s Crafted World Is Getting A Physical Release In Japan With Just A Download Code Inside
@Ooccoo_Jr Yeah that makes a lot of sense to me and going by your second statement, this is a practice that's actually been going on a for quite a while now (just under a different coat of paint) so why people are acting like this is a new, horrible discovery is beyond me.
Re: Yoshi’s Crafted World Is Getting A Physical Release In Japan With Just A Download Code Inside
@SmaggTheSmug I kinda feel like your grasping for any way to try to make a point but I'll give you the benefit of the doubt. Also if the Switch cases were the same size/shape as the 3DS ones, everybody would complain about how misleading the cases are.
Re: Yoshi’s Crafted World Is Getting A Physical Release In Japan With Just A Download Code Inside
Re: Yoshi’s Crafted World Is Getting A Physical Release In Japan With Just A Download Code Inside
