@BaldB3lper78 @Riverlution I'm pretty sure they aren't being sold individually. Both games are being sold as a single title.

I wish they had the option to have the lavender convex and concave buttons that were used on the original NA SNES and on the original 8BitDo SN30 Pro.

Also both the battery of my original and the Pro 2 stopped working/charging within months. Not a big deal because they are easily replaced with AAs. Not an option now and given my experience with their batteries in the past, I guess I'll give this one a pass. Sad because this series has been my favorite controller of all time.

And if Nintendo HAD used an OLED for the Switch 2 these same people would be complaining even more about the price.

I haven't played the game really since 2016 - have they fixed the issue with planets just feeling pretty much the same except for a reskin/theme? That's where I got bored quickly.

@Coxula I'm sure it happens, it happens with lots controllers, especially over the course of years, but it's not widespread. Joy con drift was happening at a large rate within a year or two of release. How do the incidences of drift on pro controllers compare with that on controllers from other manufacturers/platforms? Not in any meaningful way.

You should learn the difference between anecdote and data.

Sometimes people just want to talk about things they like with other people who like the same things and not have to deal with being constantly reminded of the bad aspects or have to deal with people who want to tell them the thing they like is bad and they are bad for liking it.

It's not "toxic positivity" to want a place to enjoy your hobbies (and we're talking about Pokemon here, not global politics). It doesn't require you completely sequester yourself from other points of view in all aspects of your life. I think a lot of you folks are lacking perspective and need to learn how to just enjoy things once in a while. Avoiding "toxic positivity" doesn't mean you should be required to constantly subject yourself to haters at all times.

There are a lot of negative things about Nintendo that get largely glossed over on this site, because this is a news site for Nintendo fans. There's nothing wrong with that either. I read about that stuff plenty elsewhere on the internet.

It's okay to want to have fun with your hobbies and share that fun with others who enjoy the same things. It's not a referendum on your overall outlook on life.

Drift was never an issue on the pro controllers anyway but the negative hype surrounding joy-con drift has brainrotted most people's understanding what the issue (still a very real failure on nintendo's part) actually was.

@dazzleshell For retro games, I'd really recommend an 8bitdo controller anyway. The SN30 Pro Controller is the perfect choice for retro games IMO, and the Switch 2 should be backwards compatible with it.

Everyone worried about drifting - I'm pretty sure that issue didn't really affect the Switch 1 Pro Controllers, just the joy cons. With what seems to be improved sticks on this version, it's even more of a non-issue than before.

I feel like "stick drift anxiety" has overtaken the scope of the actual issue at this point.

What about an option for using the left joycon? Are they throwing left handed fans under the bus?

I just want Tetris Worlds. Played the hell out of that on the Gamecube.

All I want is proper analog triggers for racing games. The fact that the switch didn't have them might be its biggest shortfall IMO.

excited to play this; this just means I'll wait to see if the Switch Successor™ will be backward compatible with the Switch version or if I need to wait to buy it.

@Ejadaddy See, again, that's subjective, like all reviews. Maybe the reviewer didn't like the lower framerates in parts, or was one of the players who couldn't get over the weapon durability mechanic.

And those things are of a real concern to some people, and it's a valid opinion to have.

Region locking has nothing to do with piracy in reality. It's all about price fixing.

Similar products exist in real life. It's just as likely, if not more, that it was inspired by one of those than anything from Animal Crossing. This is a non-issue.

It's even mentioned in the monologue at the beginning of Super Metroid:

@riChchestM That was the Alien-esque one, right? It was amazing to watch. Ashley was also amazing as a GM and it makes me sad to hear that she's apparently not interested in running more one-shots (but understandable).

@Spider-Kev There is no need to behave like a gatekeeping jerk. These sorts of exploits are interesting because, as stated in the article, they reveal the creative programming used to get the most out of the hardware. If that doesn't interest you, that's totally valid and fine, but you don't speak for the community.

And really, maybe don't be so invested in what other people find interesting. Just move on with your day instead of trying to build yourself up by dumping on other people's fun.

I have an OLED that is several years old - I got it just before the Switch originally came out. It's an LG65EF9500, if that matters.

BoTW gave me permanent burn-in of the hearts in the top left side of the screen. It is only ever noticeable if the screen is a solid, medium to dark color (like solid red or blue. Not at all on a solid white screen). I probably put 300-500 hours into that game. But I imagine the small OLEDs they are using for these would be optimized for gaming. And since it's a dockable model, I imagine most play time will take place on people's TVs.

@Azooooz that's how they originally looked in the comics! The show wasn't the "original".

The art design is based on the original comic, which predates the show and movies.

True maturity is being able to enjoy the things you enjoy and not being concerned about other people's opinions on what is and is not "childish" or "adult". There's a reason that most of the backlash comes from teenagers and young adults who feel they have something to prove.

But will it support controllers with analog triggers?

@rjejr They are four of the busiest airports in the country. If you have a flight across the US, chances are, you're going to connect at one of those airports.

Though I tend to try to go out of my way to avoid O'Hare. Which is difficult, as I live in Wisconsin.
