Re: Talking Point: How Do You Play NES Games These Days?

SupDan

I wanna start a NES library, but consoles and games are so pricey these days! It doesn't help that, even though I'm in Europe, I want to play NTSC and are thus forced to import everything from the US. And it's the same with SNES and N64 (though for that, I can at least get the console from Japan, since it's the same shape in every region). It's hard to play OG retro games right now!

This game is absolutely crazy. If you've been thinking of playing it but never have, give it a shot. I recognize it might not be everyone's cup of tea but it absolutely hit in all the right places for me. I think it totally deserves its fame. 10 years later and I'm still finding out new things about this masterpiece. Please don't let the memes discourage you from playing if you're thinking about it. 🤣

Re: How Do Nintendo Switch 2 Virtual Game Cards Work? - Game Transfer & Lending Guide

Both systems (VGCs and Online Licenses) have their own benefits, but they took away the ability to play with a friend who uses your account on their Switch. That was honestly so cool, but I'm surprised it took them so long to remove that feature. Because YES, it WAS a feature; they even had a dedicated article on the Nintendo website on how to do it. I knew they were going to remove it someday...

Re: Poll: Did You Get A Switch 2 Purchase Invite From Nintendo Yet? (Europe)

SupDan

I did get selected! I preordered the Switch 2 without Mario Kart bacause I want it physical. Obviously, AIN'T NO WAY I'm paying full price for it, so I've already preordered it from another retailer. So, I'm getting the Switch 2 and the GameCube controller from My Nintendo Store, and Mario Kart World from a retailer for €70. I think it's a pretty good deal. I figured I can get the rest (pro controller and micro SD) later on.

Re: Talking Point: With One Month 'Til TOTK, What's Left For You To Do In Zelda: Breath Of The Wild?

SupDan

Well, TECHNICALLY (🤓) there's a, like, "percentage" for your completion, though it only counts for the map. You would need to unlock every single icon on the map (shrines, Korok seeds, towers etc) AND every location name. Huh, alright. The side quests have a counter of their own (it's shown in the omonime screen in the menu) and there's around 90? I think? People often forget about Kilton's medals for defeating every mini-boss. Well... I sure haven't forgotten about them, I'll tell you that much...

I was on Scissors, and we were in the lead until the Tri-Color Turfs. Those really destroyed us, one should have to wait more time to be able to take an Ultra Signal... hope they make them a little fairer in the full release, but I understand that we were winning, so the other teams needed a way to catch up. But if we were winning, it means we deserved it, and the Tri-Colors should have been fair for everyone in my opinion. Still, solid start for the game, really had a blast with the Fest.

Re: This Official Nintendo Direct Infographic Showcases All Its Reveals

Earthbound and Beginnings were the highlights for me. I had never seen any gameplay nor knew the lore, so I went in totally blind. Needless to say, it was the right choice. I have always heard people praising these games, and looking at them I always thought they were the RPGs for me. So I waited and it was certainly worth it. Having a blast with them.
Of course I could have emulated them or bought em on Wii U, but it didn't feel right.

Even if I started my adventure with New Leaf, it sure was a great experience. Playing with friends on Tortimer's island was the funniest thing in the universe. What do I miss the most? My town. I put so much effort to it... to then just switch to New Horizons, to never see again all my hard work. It's sad to admit, but if I try to play it now, it just feels kinda obsolete. I'm so sad about that.

Re: Soapbox: Hurry Up And Release The Switch Pro Already, My Switch Is Dying

SupDan

I bought my Switch for Christmas on 2017. Now, I play al lot. And I mean A LOT. But... aside from the cough cough Joy-Con drift, that's all pretty much OK: since I've heard about the dock scratching the screen, I have been super-careful. In fact, I didn't even buy the protective screen, and... not a scratch. Have I just been lucky? Maybe. But for now, my old pal is still on the road, and I think it will for another very long period of time.
