Re: Conversations To Bring YouTube And Netflix To Switch Are "On-Going"

Steven_the_2nd

These two services might just drop randomly one Thursday much like Hulu did. But I do not like the fact that Hulu takes up a space on the screen.

Like the icon. I rather have like a folder or a separate icon that is strictly in the menu below the game icons for my media streaming services. Like I have a TV/Media icon next to photos icon.

I don't want Hulu, Netflix, YouTube, Crunchyroll, AmazonVideo to be the first icons I see when I wake the system. Nintendo probably doesn't want this either.

Re: Hands On: Shantae: Half-Genie Hero - Ultimate Edition

To Everyone who was not a backer of the Kickstarter for this game, You're Welcome!

Wayforward asked us backers if it was ok to release the backer exclusive digital content in this ultimate version, and it was a pretty solid vote for yes since we have had the content for a few months already and wanted everyone to join in on the fun!

Also 100% yes on the double or triple dip! Especially for the Physical Switch version!

Re: Nintendo Has Created An Official Charging Stand For The Switch

Steven_the_2nd

Does HORI's stand brick the Switch tho? I am hesitant about ALL 3rd party docks even if they said they are okayed by Nintendo.

HORI is usually a great brand to trust but then so was Nyko in the US. The $10 difference is not worth me losing my thousand hours or so of combined play time across all 30+ of my games.

Re: Nintendo Hints That Not All Switch Games Will Support Cloud Saves

Steven_the_2nd

I am sure it just mistranslation because it was done in GOOGLE TRANSLATE.

I am sure it just means all third party games will need to have an update in order to support Cloud Saves.

Also, games with saves over a certain size, will not be able to be uploaded.

Also, Hulu's save used to constantly get corrupted on my PS4 because it would try to upload it to the cloud. I would then have to delete it and the save, and then redownload it to fix it. I fixed this issue by telling it not to auto upload.

Re: Nyko Is Being Taken To Court Over A Bricked Switch Console

Steven_the_2nd

@cfgk24 Have yet to hear anything from anyone besides Xavier Woods that actually has one. The video from the newscast is the first real video I have seen of the Ojo in action.

I reached out to them about getting one for review on my YouTube channel about two months ago. Someone replied said he will forward this to their PR team and they will be in touch if they want to send me one. Haven't heard back since.

Re: Hackers Have Found A Way To Exploit The Switch, And It's Apparently 'Unpatchable'

Steven_the_2nd

@Anti-Matter If it's hardware based, then they wouldn't be able to patch it with a system update. They would just do a quiet hardware refresh after they fix the vulnerability.

It's hackers like Katherine who expose vulnerabilities and then report it to the right people so the next iteration of the hardware will be more secure.

I am all for this type of hacking if it makes the system I love more secure and if they don't release the method they used to do said hacking.

Re: Nintendo Switch Version 5.0.2 Is Now Live

Steven_the_2nd

@Heavyarms55 The whole issue came from that fact that they for some reason created a users account to be 100% tied to their PSN name instead of a backend user id.

Like all my purchases are linked to that PSN name instead of me being user#123456789, with my PSN name being a part of that. So in order for them to fix it, they would have to essentially redo how the database works.

If they had to change a username for any reason, everything besides their purchase list will be erased. Sony can move your purchase list over but it is strictly on a case by case basis.

So trophies, friends, community posts, activity log, cloud saves, everything but the purchase list will be gone.

Re: Nintendo Switch Version 5.0.2 Is Now Live

Steven_the_2nd

@Ham-n-jam Yep, the Switch will be just like this and a lot more I believe. The 3DS was MUCH more bare bones that the Switch was at launch.

People are always so impatient with features that will be added later and are not needed to make the console work well.

Re: Nintendo Switch Version 5.0.2 Is Now Live

Steven_the_2nd

@Heavyarms55 With Every PS4 update, We only mainly "complain" about not having the ability to change our names lol.

I put complain in quotes cause its really just an ongoing meme/joke at this point lol.

At least with Nintendo, I can change my name a thousand times a day if I wanted to.

Glad I "changed" my name way back when. My original name was teh-peng00in cause my girlfriend at the time loved penguins and I let her choose the name.

About 2 months later, we broke up and thank goodness I never bought anything major on it or did anything major. Created a new account, and it been on that one ever since.

Still would like to do a different one, since at the time I made one that is my favorite game engine and a character of my favorite video game.

Re: Nintendo Switch Version 5.0.2 Is Now Live

Steven_the_2nd

@Bengals76 All those are not needed to make a well-built console. Those you listed are extras. We never got VC straight out of the gate on any of the other consoles. It was always a year or two in.

Message your friends on a device that is easier to message on. Voice chat as well.

Also, it's 100% on Netflix for making an app for it. Not Nintendo's fault. Apparently, they didn't want to make one according to an article a few months back. Hulu made one just fine.

But really then go, if you are so inclined. They are making incredible games for the system and yes some are ports but they are ports of games MANY people did not get to play since they didn't own a Wii U.

Also, you are complaining about ports when that is pretty much what VC is...

You did not explain why can't you trust Nintendo anymore. Because third parties are porting their games? Because Nintendo is not giving you all the little features here and there that you want? Did they ever once mention giving you those features?

Granted the invite system is a few months late, along with Nintendo Online.

Re: Team Xecutor Confirms Its Upcoming Switch Hacking Device Will Work With All Firmwares

Steven_the_2nd

This hack might have something to do with the fact that data miners found some info that Nintendo added some code in FW 5.0 that describes a few new chipsets. Like it uses a possible backdoor in the current chipset. So Nintendo maybe quietly refresh the hardware to break this hack.

Like how Sony completely redid the Motherboard of PSP-3000 so you have to re-hack the system everytime you turned it off, also made a lot of homebrew stuff unusable.

Re: Your Prayers Have Been Answered, Hori Is Making A Joy-Con With A Proper D-Pad

Steven_the_2nd

This controller definitely is intriguing, to say the least. Especially since it removes all the normal functionality of an actual joy-con besides the controller part.

I reached out to HORI to figure out why that is. Unless they somehow managed to get a pivot d-pad (see GBA and before D-pad) in the controller by removing all that functionality.

I'd rather pay the $20 for replacement shell d-pad kit and do it to my existing joy-con and then I have all the functionality for the same price.

Re: Random: Kamiya Threatens To "Lose Motivation" For Bayonetta 3 Unless Nintendo Grants His Switch Wishes

Steven_the_2nd

@The_Mysteron I actually have a time-lapse video of it on my youtube channel. Also a post in regards to using 3-party joy-cons 5-months later . http://gunplagamer.com/2018/03/03/3rd-party-joy-cons-5-months-later/

Its difficult in the way that if you mess up on one of the wires, you will need to go buy a new joy-con. Also, you will need the correct pair of tri-wing screwdrivers because you do not get them with the joy-con. I mention the exact ones I used in my post and they are spectacular.

The full video was about an hour or so going through the various points on what to be careful with and what not so I made it into a time lapse for people to easily digest it in around 10 minutes.

Check out the time lapse, and if you are having difficulty I can upload the full video.

It is fairly simple once you get the hang of it. I actually live streamed it on Instagram. There are several videos out there that tell you how to break down the joy-con but I did not really find many with the installation of the d-pad.

Re: Rumour: Is This Really Marvel Vs. Capcom 3 Running On Switch?

Steven_the_2nd

@Anti-Matter Street Fighter 30th Anniversary collection comes with 12 games. Not three. This is from the official Nintendo site. https://www.nintendo.com/games/detail/street-fighter-30th-anniversary-collection-switch

"This content-rich all-in-one package highlights the series' past in an anthology of 12 classic titles with arcade-perfect balancing including the original Street Fighter, Street Fighter II, Street Fighter II: Champion Edition, Street Fighter II: Hyper Fighting, Super Street Fighter II, Super Street Fighter II: Turbo, Street Fighter Alpha, Street Fighter Alpha 2, Street Fighter Alpha 3, Street Fighter III, Street Fighter III: 2nd Impact and Street Fighter III: Third Strike."

So you are saying you will not play a Teen rated game because of the fact that it has M-Rated characters in it? You logic and reasoning at times really gives me a headache. I mean to each their own and wish you the best but really you need to expand your universe and not be so naive about things.

To be sure Deadpool is probably the most M-Rated character in MvC3.

Re: Pokémon GO Receives New iPhone Exclusive Features

Steven_the_2nd

@magnumc500 I would say the iOS is definitely on par with Android Oreo. Functionality wise, besides the pen bit I the Note 8.

No need to be a complete weener about it. I was asking a genuine question. Features wise both OS have the same functionality. One phone or another may have an extra feature but that is phone specific.

Hardware wise, The iPhone X has a much better screen than any Android tho, also the back camera is better as well. I have to give it to the Pixel for the front facing camera, but that is just software that can upgraded without a new device.
