Re: 'Hybrid Platformer' Demon Turf Confirmed To Be Jumping Onto Switch Soon

StefanN

The demo was nice but it felt like it's one of those games stripping a random common aspect out in the hopes of making it more unique. As the description says, you don't actually kill any enemies, it's got its "unique physics-driven combat" but all that turned out to be in the demo was pushing the enemies away awkwardly. It felt unsatisfying. Maybe that changes in the later game. Because if you could actually yeet your foes, that would be quite fun. But even then...let's say you smash them against a wall - and nothing happens? Idk, i'll have to see about this.

Re: Metroid Dread Studio Hit With Allegations Of Poor Organisation And Management

StefanN

You know, if a project isn't that successful, you can deal with not being credited for it more easily. That's why people might be speaking up about it now that it's popular, nothing wrong with that. It also just makes it more upsetting to those that worked on it, to see that something they helped create is becoming popular.

And yeah workplaces are stressful. That's pointing out another issue though, not excusing it. And as somebody before me already said - this could also just have been the tipping point in people's very stressful lifes. Maybe the previous games weren't as stressful to make.

I'm proud of these people daring to speak up.

Re: Talking Point: A Nintendo Direct With Something For Everyone, And Quite A Few Surprises

StefanN

Always funny to see how different the perceptions are. This direct was really lackluster for me. Kirby 3D Platformer and Wreckfest, hell yeah, but the rest...eh. The Indie World that happened recently though was one of the best ones ever. If there wouldn't have been that other one where Ori got shadowdropped, i would say it was the best presentation i ever watched...but you know...Ori <3.
Still though, even if it left me disappointed, it's great to see that so many are happy with this Direct!

Re: Wreckfest Brings Destructive Demolition Racing To Switch This Fall

StefanN

@Shambo While i love Burnout Paradise, i gotta say it was really frustrating whenever it told me to go left or right when i was just at the height of that very turn. Also, if the traffic bugs you, go for a car with the Crash type boost, one that has it maxed out. You can't crash from traffic with those, they'll just push the traffic away (except for heavier vehicles like the occassional bus).

@CharlieGirl You might still enjoy it, if you're in racing games for the carnage! πŸ˜„

Re: Wreckfest Brings Destructive Demolition Racing To Switch This Fall

StefanN

@CharlieGirl Just thought you should know, this game is not like Burnout in terms of speed. The cars are much heavier and the handling is different. But Burnout and Flatout are my favorite racing game series, both because of the destruction - and this game is by the makers of the Flatout series! So while not as fast-paced, i absolutely want to get this game! And with the soft-body physics implemented in this game, the carnage should be better than ever!

I never tried Wreckfest so far. But i was hoping for a Switch port even though it seemed impossible, since the soft-body physics are surely pretty intensive to process.

Also i love the references to the Mario movie reveal πŸ˜„. It's so cool to see THQ Nordic doing so much for the Switch!

Re: Romantic Comedy Otome 'Cupid Parasite' Is Coming To Switch This Year

StefanN

@Kiwi_Unlimited Now that you say it...i saw the movie when i was like 12 or so. Actually thinking about how he was, i can see him being sort of obnoxious. But i mean, he did really care for the girl he wanted to date, so i guess that's good πŸ˜„. But yeah, to really be able to judge, i should watch the movie again.

Re: Review: Cruis'n Blast - An Arcade Racing Icon Returns In Spectacular Fashion

StefanN

I am super excited for this game but one thing i don't really understand. Some of the textures and graphics overall look great and up to what the Switch can do, while others look like they're coming from the N64/Gamecube-era. I don't know if that is intentional, it just looks a little all over the place judging from the screenshots. Regardless, i will definitely get this, because i love the overall look of it.

Re: Last Soul Is An Upcoming Action Platformer With A Heroic Robot

StefanN

I think it's always underestimated how much a fitting soundtrack supports the presentation. It says "perfectly sci-fi retro music" but it's an orchestral score (maybe they mean in-game, but that should still translate to the trailer as well). Thinking about redoing the music just for fun and then asking them if they want it πŸ˜…. If not i still got some more stuff to add to the portfolio i wanna create for future applications.
Anyway, the gameplay looks solid and i like the look of it!

Re: There's An Official Life Is Strange: True Colors Lo-Fi Playlist

StefanN

I mean if there ever was a time to mention my own Lofi project, now would be it πŸ˜…. It's "Cats In Bed" and it's linked in my profile, in case you wanna check it out πŸ˜„. My friend and i appreciate every listen, it's still a super small project.

Aaaanyway, I'm curious to try the game out. If it's music from the game i wonder if it really has that much lofi in it πŸ˜„.

Re: Boulder Dash Deluxe Smashes Its Way Onto Switch This Week

StefanN

I definitely want to try this because i loved Boulder Dash as a kid (well i played "Digger", idk if it's just a different name or a different game) but man this does look kinda awful. What person designs these creepy looking kids and what person goes "yep, that's what i want my protagonist to look like"

Re: Stealthy Escape Game 'Sir, You Are Being Hunted' Stalks Onto Switch Next Year

StefanN

I WAS HOPING FOR THIS FOR SO LONG OMG

EDIT: And it's a remaster, are you kidding me?!! I would love if they added co-op too. As far as i remember there wasn't any and my friend and i just decided not to shoot each other and instead work together, haha.

EDIT 2: "is bringing its ten thousand genre prefixes." hahahaha πŸ˜„

EDIT 3: I hope there will be gyro aiming, this game needs it if you wanna be able to stand a chance.

Sorry for all the edits, just more evidence that i'm damn excited about this!
