Re: Review: Cult Of The Lamb - Animal Crossing Goes Bad In This Satisfyingly Stressful Sim

StefanN

@Not_Soos Damn, let me just offer you some support please. I'm proud of what you accomplished for yourself and i know how it is to feel these things and have these thoughts. I'm also highly impressed by you for staying so calm when faced with misunderstanding and assumptions about you and your wish to have a fair and thorough discussion. It doesn't feel to me like you're going to get through to some people in this conversation. But the fact that you still stay so neutral, non-aggressive and make your points wonderfully clear is an incredible skill that only very few have and that i'm always trying to practice myself. Which is hard when i see someone like you expressing themselves in an innocent manner and getting such negative feedback for it. Anyway, proud of you my friend!

Re: YouTuber Ends Metroid Prime Music Covers After Nintendo's Lawyers Call

StefanN

This is so stupid. Stupid and sad. People do covers all the time. I do them. I upload them. They're fun to do. But if it's Nintendo music i wouldn't be allowed to do it just because they say so? I'm really wondering if they can just request that on a per song (or per artist rather) kind of base when in general it is legal to do covers. Even earn money off of them.

Re: Gory, Grotesque, Chaotic FPS POST VOID Is Heading To Switch Very Soon

StefanN

Idk how they wanna do this. I played it on Steam Deck with Gyro Controls (and without of course) and i was barely able to survive a couple of seconds :/. The game itself is great though! I'm just worried if the Switch can deliver the required accuracy, unless they make the console versions somewhat more lenient in their difficulty.

Re: Feature: The Saddest Games On Switch - Games To Make You Cry

StefanN

@RubyCarbuncle Awww man i feel you and i find that kinda nice. I too cry easily. But that just means your emotions can express themselves unhindered, which i would say is healthy. Of course that doesn't count for every emotion but feeling sadness is different to anger or something. And crying helps process things. So yeah, cry away, i'll sure do too, haha

Re: Pokémon Scarlet And Violet Releases 18th November

StefanN

Okay so...if this game does away with the satisfying challenge mechanics of catching Pokemon, it's gonna be boring again, sorry. These challenges introduced a whole new layer to the gameplay, a new purpose, a satisfying constantly rewarding loop. This game looks wonderful and i hope hope hope they introduce some cool new things but if it's missing that...ahh man, idk.

Also OMG PLEASE GIVE THE GAME SOME TIME FOR FRICK'S SAKE. One more year and we could have voice acting, better resolution and performance and actually showing cutscenes when cool stuff happens, instead of Arceus' "Guys, thing is happening!!" screen fades to black - thing happened "Wow guys that thing sure happened hard!"

Oh and...difficulty. Please make the games challenging finally, oh my god. Arceus made me finally enjoy Pokemon again and i can forgive the lack of showing cool things, so-so graphics, lack of details but the fact that the game is still really easy just made me lose a lot of interest again after playing it for a while. Sure, the elite Pokemon are tough. But i'm going specifically for them a lot in order to have some challenge. The game was giving me so many items to help with survival but they lost any feeling of being special after a short while because you just get tons of them and you survive just fine without using almost any of them.

Re: Feature: The Saddest Games On Switch - Games To Make You Cry

StefanN

@RubyCarbuncle Wait...you mean in the sense of the light getting destroyed or something? I don't exactly remember how the first Ori started.

[SPOILER FOR ORI AHEAD, SORRY COULDN'T AVOID IT]

You saying you needed a month to get over it was honestly pretty funny 😅. Not mocking you of course! Ori makes me cry every single time i begin either of the games and i love them for it. They're so beautiful. The ending to the second Ori (which i don't wanna spoil here) really had me kinda devastated...like yeah the cycle can continue i guess...but does it? Or is it implied that it's actually over? Ah idk. Either way, Ori is wonderful. I just feel a little unwilling to replay them if Ori is no more after the second game.

Re: Manage An "Internet Angel" In 'Needy Streamer Overload' This Fall

StefanN

@LXP8 Thank you for the suggestion! Doesn't really look like something that would have an easy time winning me over though, but it looks pretty!

@JustMonika Hmm i can't seem to find it. Only a game called "The Island" which is just a survival game. Does it have any kind of sub title that goes with the title of it? Idk if you can post links here, otherwise that'd be best of course. Thank you!

Re: Manage An "Internet Angel" In 'Needy Streamer Overload' This Fall

StefanN

I'm the first to hate on weeb games bc i always just assume they're for people who have weird ideas about women but...i feel like calling some of these games just "weeb games" might be doing them a disservice. This looks interesting and i'm always trying to break my prejudice about things. If anybody has some recommendations for stylish anime games like this one that are reaaally worth playing, i'm open for it!

Re: Random: Sonic The Hedgehog's "Ugly" Design Apparently Makes A Cameo In The New Chip N' Dale Movie

StefanN

I'm sorry but movies like this always make me wonder who they're supposed to appeal to. I watched Rescue Rangers as a kid, loved it. Now i'm 31. This movie, like soooo many others is like "your favorite characters are back but this time they're cool and edgy! Just like your 13-16 year old self wants it!" - but again, i'm 31, so what gives? Either make a story in their universe, best would be in the same style as the old movies, or make it into a movie that can be taken seriously while still being family friendly and enjoyable for all ages like idk...Zootopia for example? That one's mature enough to be taken seriously but it's definitely a welcoming movie for kids as well.
Or am i just not a fan of this humor? Seriously i can't see how fans of the original would like this, but i am curious and shouldn't judge any further beyond these first impressions without having seen it of course.

Re: Roguelite Action Game 'Astebros' Is Coming To Sega Genesis And Switch

StefanN

Wait, this is by the developer of Demons Of Asteborg, right? That game was super good, except i quit playing it because it still held on to ***** retro difficulty in a way - die too often in a level and you'll have to redo the whole thing again. And since you die to the bosses a lot at first, you get to replay the same level countless times - i hate that and for me it ruined an otherwise amazing game .

Re: Review: Wife Quest - A Bawdy Metroidvania That's Well Worth A Look

StefanN

@CharlieGirl i love platformers but am so picky that I'm always excited for a new one to come along 😄.

@nessisonett Completely agree! These games always feel like "hey we got nothing to offer, so here's some big bobbo women". It's especially had when the game is good. Yk, JRPGs for example. While not for me, there's so many that people enjoy and that look high quality. But then they also got scantily clad women and it makes the impression actually worse because it makes me feel like "well what is this trying to make up for?".

Re: Random: Reggie Fils-Aimé Doesn't Think Much Of Facebook's Metaverse

StefanN

Sorry but I'd just find it baffling if people are willing to join their Meta thingy. To me it feels like nowadays it is known how ***** of a company Facebook is. So why would you subject yourself to them even more, in a more all-encompassing way than ever before?

People below like 30-40 surely know about Facebook's reputation and people above don't mess with that newfangled technic shenanigans. I hope it fails, this seems like a huge step towards a corporate dystopia 😅.

Re: Naughty Metroidvania 'Wife Quest' Launches On Switch In March

StefanN

Funny how a game called Wife Quest looks like it's far less focused on anime titonkas than your usual anime game. I hate those, it always feels like "oh is the game not good or why does it need titinkos to create an appeal?".
This game has you >think< it's an anime bobbys focused game but in actuality - it's a game focused on being a good game, from the looks of it. They seem to mock the unnecessary booberisms of other game. I like it, i'm interested.

And yes, i did have fun coming up with creative censorship circumventions tyvm 😄

Re: Pokémon Scarlet & Pokémon Violet Announced, Releasing Worldwide On Switch In "Late 2022"

StefanN

Seriously - even if you're a die-hard Pokemon fan, this is a shorter wait than CoD/Battlefield/Assassins Creed and even those tended to slow down afaik since people were complaining.

Arceus is such a good game but still had soooo much unused potential. The graphics, the lack of different musical backgrounds, no voice acting (although yeah that's up to taste) and a lack of immersion for the story - by which i mean: yeah important parts in the story are animated. But more than like 70-80% of the time the game is like "This thing is happening!" and then the screen fades to black and the thing has happened. It could be so much cooler if it was more fleshed out. It sometimes feels like an unfinished alpha version of what the game should be. Phew, anyway. I still really really like the game. It was the first time in so many years that Pokemon was fun again and i hope they know how important Arceus and its changes to the formula are. If this is just open world but otherwise same old, that would be quite devastating. Have it be like Arceus at least please <3.
