Poll: Cruis'n Blast Is Out Today On Switch, Are You Getting It?

My Amazon copy is taking the long route, but yeah. Absolutely in.

Second best game in the arcades, of course I got it on Switch!

Best buy is giving away a 10 dollar gift card so I bought this one day one. Looking forward to it.

Is the European physical version only sold in special stores? I can't find it in any Swedish online shops.

I am absolutely going to get it, just not today! I will be enjoying this one later on!

I got it 3 days ago. They also had Deathloop on the shelf, which I tried to buy. For some reason the cashier stopped me buying Deathloop, but not Cruisin Blast. It is awesome! I've been loving some of the music, all the tracks, and the insanity of the arcade racing. I can't think of any racing game that's crazier than this one. I had been avoiding these stone columns holding up a bridge that you race under in one track, but then accidentally hit it during a race and my car totalled the stone pillar. Many things about this game make me smile while playing it, which is about the best thing you can say about a game.

I was looking forward to giving the game a go, but no online multiplayer = a hard no. Sad stuff. Maybe it's my fault that I don't have any local friends who are into gaming.

Absolutely getting it. Can’t wait. Love this series.

Still waiting for more reviews to drop, but this looks like a lot of fun and definitely my kind of game.

I've already preordered it, but the noticeable review embargo is a shoot in the foot, with a game not so well known and not exactly an AAA with a plot that can be spoilt. Many people will hold off but then will lose any potential preorder bonus.

Rush was way better than CruisN. I'd likely consider a San Francisco Rush game, but for some reason I felt like CruisN was just too over the top for me. Maybe just because it's too much an arcade game.

@Ryu_Niiyama I got in on that BB deal too. Picking it up in-store tomorrow to ensure I have it day one! Really excited to have this surprise game available on Switch, in physical format no less.

P.S. I watched a GameXplain interview with Cruis’n series creator Eugene Jarvis. He confirmed that development of this Switch version of Cruis’n Blast was only even considered/conceived as a direct result of arcades being closed due to COVID-19. So the team got a Switch development kit and poured themselves into the best Cruis’n Blast experience on Switch they could make. A small COVID silver lining perhaps, but there it is. Go figure.

Strange, I hadn’t heard anything about this since the announcement… admittedly, I wasn’t looking that hard. I was wondering when this would happen

My physical copy is on the way! I've been wanting this game on the Switch since I played it a few years ago at a theater. This is fantastic, I've already seen a few minutes of footage from two videos but I'm so hyped I can't look at the full reviews I want to save some surprises. Over the top arcade racer visuals that we have craved, crazy tricks you can do with any vehicle including the helicopter, and most of all, insane drifting.

Does this have steering wheel support or labo support?

I've been dropping by every store near me for the past week hoping somebody would break the street date. No luck!
But yes, I'm very much buying it day one. Way too long since we had an arcade racer like this come out.

Got it digital. Downloaded. Still not able to play in Aus at 130pm. Must have to wait for Pacific Time to catch up. Looking forward to it!

As soon as it becomes available at my local stores in Romania, I’ll snatch that cart as fast as it snatched my attention and tokens in the arcade a few months ago. It’s a great modern classic I believe

I plan to pick up my copy at Best Buy tomorrow! I've played Cruis'n USA at the arcade a few times, but otherwise, not much experience with the series. I'm really excited to try this one out, though!

@120frames-please How does it run? A solid 30fps? Would be amazing if it was 60fps, but not sure if that's the case. Always pining for 60fps in an arcade racer

@Clyde_Radcliffe To my knowledge it's not confirmed. There was a really good interview with Gamexplain and the developer said if the game sells well then they'll look at adding things like more tracks and online play.

I love the arcade version, and I'm definitely getting this Switch version at some point. But I almost wonder if it might be better to wait for a price drop.

Pre ordered a few months back as I love arcade racers. perhaps I should have waited for reviews, but I thought the lower budget price and the fact it looked fun, to go for it. My amazon order seems to be running a day late to the UK from Europe.

Never played a Cruis'n game before, but from what I have seen, it looks fun.

However, much like with WarioWare Get it Together, the lack of online play is very disappointing.

I've had it since last Friday.. A great pick up and play arcade racer. Simple controls and plenty of tracks. 1080 and 60 FPS in docked mode, with no hitches.. Highly recommended!!

I mean the ones on the n64 were horrible quality, but a lot of fun as well! So I'm on the fence! 😂

It’s great. Proper game. No online multiplayer focus is what saves it. You can tell it’s not been compromised by grindy mechanics and a focus to force you to play online. So many games suffer from that. This is a proper game. Let’s you boot up and have fun. “Just one more race” plenty to do and see and loads of vechiles to level up, collectible keys, it’s a throwback to gamecube era. Arcade style games that were just fun. A good mix of real cars and ridiculous vehicles so you can play the way you want.

I got physical for £25 - I’m genuinely shocked many of you are waiting for a price drop. We should be supporting games like this so we get more.

Hell yeah, pre-ordered the game on the e-Shop. I wnt to see Cruis'n USA, World and Exotica at some point... I loved USA, had some good fun with World, and don't recall ever having a chance to play Exotic. Mostly played the N64 versions of the games.

Looks too crazy for my liking. I dont mind arcade racing but not too over the top. I liked Split second but this just looks over the top wacky for me. Pleased for all the fans tho.

I just preordered it myself, had to get this one physically, that box art is lovely and the Cruis'n logo brings back alot of memories.

It’s awesome, it’s like Split Second Racing on PS3 but even crazier. One of the most fun games I’ve played in ages.

@Kintypoo121 It does run at 60fps! It's definitely not locked, but it looks great and is fun to play even with the drops into the 50s or whatever it is. I could see people possibly complaining about how long the game is, or isn't rather, but I love a game that makes me smile repeatedly while playing it (even if it's a short game). I kind of prefer short games because I don't really have time to play games besides Rocket League!

@Anguspuss Yes it does. It looks good in split screen. I don't spend time around people outside of work, but I tried it by myself in 2, 3, and 4 player split screen and can see how it would be fun in all those. The two player split screen seems to almost hit 60fps, while the others look like 30 to me.

@BANJO I beg to differ. I definitely see drops from 60fps. I still love this game, and of course it plays wonderfully. I love how it is almost always locked at 60fps when you are doing one of those huge drops that are in many tracks!

@westman98 Yeah, I wish Wario and Cruisin had online multiplayer. Especially with Cruisin I could myself playing online for many hours, like with Mario Golf. Oh well, it's freaking awesome anyways. Both games are awesome.

@sketchturner I wasn't even trying to do that, but did it. I've been playing Cruisin for 3 or 4 days. I love it!

A couple years ago, I went back and replayed Cruise'n USA on the 64 and it was real rough going, did not age well at all. Gonna have to pass on this

@mereel That's interesting. I've never seen the arcade machine. Hadn't heard of this game until it was announced for Switch. I knew about the older ones, but never liked the frame rate or gameplay in the older arcade games. So also skipped the N64 games. But this Switch release is awesome!

@Cheez I was the same way until I tried this Switch release. I still want SF Rush 1, 2, and 2049 on Switch. But I'm also so happy with this game, it really is such a fun over the top arcade racer.

@czdjax can't go wrong with warioware. It's wacky, mental and does not make sense, but I love it!

I’ll be cruuuuuuisin’ to my local Gamestop after work to pick up my preorder. It looked like such retro arcade fun I couldn’t resist.

Priority one is unlocking the unicorn and other wacky vehicles so hopefully the kiddos will try it with me! 😄

I'll most likely eventually get it, just not right away. Between other games being a higher priority, and not to mention Christmas around the corner (I've got two boys), this is going to have to take a backseat.

Anxiously awaiting my digital pre-order to unlock. Hopefully itbe available after work.

I can wait for a sale. The only Cruis'n game I've played was USA on N64, which I have fond memories of. This game does have quite a different vibe from USA, but looks quite fun.

Don't buy from US amazon. For some reason they are charging $10 above MSRP. You can get it cheaper literally at any other retailer. Heck best buy is selling it for cheaper AND giving away a gift card!

Finally, the digital game has unlocked now at 11PM on the 14th... It is almost the 15th (and I assume its unlocked worldwide now)

@120frames-please Thanks for the reply! Great, that's bumped it up my list! I can deal with some drops, just feels so good when playing racing arcade games at 60fps. Looks like a riot to play as well I think the Mrs will enjoy this one too!

Jesus, this game is a blast!!!
Got used to the controls in 1 race. Super fun Gameplay and godlike performance. 1080p and 60 fps and still incredible detailed.

@Cheez I've got to agree with you there. I would certainly absolutely consider getting Cruisin', and likely will buy it at some point very soon, but a Rush game is for sure much higher, by quite a few notches, on my list. Nothing beats collecting Mountain Dew cans on rooftops and completely decimating your car from impacts and damage. Yeah, Rush is for sure more appealing to me.

@ChromaticDracula If only they made a remake or new Rush game, like a reboot with the best tracks.

Wasnt sold on this at all due to the over the top crazy nature of it but after watching the switch up (those guys are great) review and them giving it and 87% split over the 5 categories they rate their games out of, it actually looks alot of fun. I think i will grab it some time.

Got it. Played one game in handheld mode so far. Game is legit.

@Fraba The developer talked about wanting to do an HD remaster of the original trilogy after getting this one out. But either way a remaster or a sequel I'm all in. I've played the first few cups and am really enjoying this classic series. I have a bit of nostalgia playing the original in arcades and then the N64 series. Cruis'n Blast has lived up to all the hype for me.

@KiraMoonvalley They kinda did. Raw Thrills made H2Overdrive an arcade cabinet racer and a spiritual successor to hydro Thunder. It is amazing and one day I hope it makes the transition to a console.
