Microids is a publisher that's helped to bring us some intriguing titles on Switch, and it also has a growing range of life-sim games for those that enjoy raising puppies, designing furniture and so on. Today the 'Microids Life' sub-label has confirmed three games of this ilk heading to Switch this year.
They're all developed by It Matters Games, with the release dates specifying 'US' for now; there are no trailers live at the time of writing, but we'll keep our eyes peeled.
Puppies & Kittens - 23rd November
We can confirm that this game has both puppies and kittens in it, and they look quite cute. The official description highlights that this is very much inspired by the Nintendogs series - you play minigames to care for and train your pets, go for walks and so on. This could potentially be a very pleasant way to pass time, especially as Nintendo's franchise is now long dormant.
Interior Designer - 11th November
Unsurprisingly a lot of the game is played from a top-down / isometric perspective as you showcase your sense of style. You run your own agency, get briefs from clients, and then decorate their homes in the hope of getting a high grade. There'll also be a Renovation mode where you can re-work buildings for more creative options.
Doctors & Nurses - 13th December
This one looks relatively interesting in the screenshots, as you not only manage patients but also seemingly perform / devise some treatments. You work as part of a team in the hospital, with minigames for various aspects of a typical day; there's even a 'rival colleague' to deal with, which sounds like it could get a little intense.
So there you have it, a few life simulation games on the way later this year; no doubt there'll be more screenshots and trailers in the coming weeks. Let us know if you're a fan of these types of games in the comments!

AAAAAAAGH...!!! 😀😀😀
(Hype Intensified)
I have been waiting for a Nintendog style game and casual games like Interior Design + Doctor & Nurse.
It feels like casual games from NDS era returned to Nintendo Switch. 😁
Just keep making another casual games like NDS era, Microids ! 👍👍👍
Nintendogs on Switch would have sold gangbusters during the quarantine, but successful Nintendo is lazy Nintendo. Their released schedule for the rest of the year proves that.
Nintendogs? I haven't heard that name in a long time.
Wonder what happened to my Nintendogs, I haven't opened the game in YEARS
I don't understand why Nintendo prioritized Brain Age/Big Brain over Nintendogs. Brain Age bombed on the 3DS and Switch.
Interior Designer? Well it's no Sims but i'll take what i can get i suppose 😅. Maybe this scratches the itch at least a little
@Anti-Matter Glad you got first post, I was reading the article thinking "It's antimatter season on Switch." 🙂 Good way to start getting hyped for the holidays.👍
@IceClimbersMain Oof, maybe best not to check. I have a horrible image of a grown up dog appearing that's had to fend for itself and survive for a decade.
Puppies and kittens, sadly not based on the awesome first episode of znation then
Nintendogs on Switch. I thought that was what the Mario Kart development team have been working on these past 3 or 4 years?
I don't believe producing a game with a mixture of touch controls and button controls is a challenge for the developers to get right to fit the unique docked/undocked gameplay on Switch.
It's an easy win title for them, the perfect follow up for casual Animal Crossing install base, and makes a LOT more sense than new Mario Kart cannibalising existing Mario Kart sales.
Didn't Switch already get a Nintendogs-like game a couple years ago? I think it was called Little Friends: Dogs & Cats or something like that.
Anyone know how that one turned out?
Nintendolphins! The sequel....
Woo uncanny valley time. All this does is make me hope for a new nintendogs.
So all of this is just shovelware, with one piece trying to be Nintendogs, yet it'll be like all of the other Nintedogs-like games that released so far, failing to capture the feeling of the original, or being impressive enough to actually enjoy.
I would rather have an actual Nintendogs game on Switch since the last not-Nintendogs game on Switch was maybe a 5/10.
......I'll just stick with my real cat, thanks.
And yet these manage to look worse than Nintendogs on the humble DS, which had life-like animations and models that still hold up today.
@Joeynator3000 is that a picture of it?
When they don't feel too bargain-like they could actually be enticing.
