Re: Rumour: 2K Is Creating A Series Of Lego Sports Games

StefanN

OH MY GOD YES!! Give me Lego games without any franchise attached to it that i have no interest in!! Especially since the gameplay in most of those is really just the same. (Happy for anyone who enjoys them though, i do like them still, they're just often rather samey)

I never liked Football but played a lot of the old Lego Football (or maybe it was called Lego Soccer, i don't remember haha)! It's kinda morbid that they're trying to build off of the World Cup hype since Lego is toys and FIFA is...well scandalous to say the least, in regards to the upcoming world cup :/. Kinda leaves a bitter taste

Re: Mini Review: Grapple Dog - A Cracking GBA-Style Platformer, With Echoes Of Go! Go! Beckham!

StefanN

This game is wonderful so far! Just got done with the first world and boss. The controls are a little floaty though, which sometimes makes you overshoot where you intend to go and the grappling can be a bit finicky.

Oh and i also don't like when games gate your progression with collectibles. Just give me cool stuff like costumes for the collectibles instead of blocking levels. It just feels like artificial padding to me and i feel i should be allowed to move through the game as quickly or slowly as i would like. But again, wonderful game, the difficulty is right in that sweet spot so far where you're making good progress but have to reattempt a section here and there. I loved tough platformers like Cyber Shadow and The Messenger, as well as Shovel Knight but sometimes a medium difficulty can give you that nice feeling of accomplishment without being to much of a distraction in your life. And this game is one of those.

Re: Round Up: Everything Announced In The February 2022 Nintendo Direct - Every Game Reveal And Trailer

StefanN

Not just because i'm personally excited for specific games, just the fact that there's so much that people wanted is crazy! So a great direct for Nintendo fans and there were definitely a few things that excite me - ahem - PORTAL OMG. And it's the NVIDIA Lightspeed Studios port. They ported Portal and Half Life 2 to the Tegra Shield tablets. Half Life 2 on Switch could well be within the cards now, which is crazy.

Re: Potion Crafting Adventure 'The Serpent Rogue' Gets Release Date

StefanN

@BluFenix Oh my god, even if - Team17 was doing NFTs yeah. But this game is not an NFT. The developers are not NFTs.

I totally get where you're coming from but i'm afraid we would just hurt the cause if we boycott games, instead of NFTs. People boycotted EAs lootbox ***** - they saw that and made a singleplayer Star Wars adventure game and everybody liked it. They decide what to make based on what sells. And it saddens me to think that a developer works their ass off to create a fun experience, just for people to end up not buy it.

In short: Buy games to show publisher you want games - don't buy NFTs to show publisher you don't want NFTs. Simple.

Re: Yacht Club Games To Share "Groundbreaking Announcement" In Upcoming Twitch Broadcast

StefanN

The last time an announcement was described as groundbreaking was from Sega when they introduced their own cloud service for arcade games (i think it was).
So yeah...either bought by Microsoft, NFTs, Cloud Gaming or their own Games Store. Please be none of those and instead just be new games from them ๐Ÿ˜…. As others have said "groundbreaking" does literally reference shovels, so hey who knows!

Re: Video: Here's A First-Person Look At Pokรฉmon Legends: Arceus In 'Hisui 360ยฐ View'

StefanN

Man I'm curious to try it but it really doesn't look good at all. If i saw a 360 video of BOTW I'd be like "oh wow that looks amazing" the whole time. This game on the other hand just looks bland ๐Ÿ˜•. I hope the gameplay can make up for it. It would be so sad if the game just doesn't turn out to be an actual update/reinvention of sorts to the franchise it had the chance to be.

(Hot take: Sword and Shield looked much better ๐Ÿ˜… (although personally i always liked how they looked))

Re: Ocean's Heart Is A Cute Zelda-Inspired Adventure Destined For Switch

StefanN

I really would have chosen a different name than Ocean's Horn for a Zelda inspired game when there's already two of the name of Oceanhorn on Switch being Zelda inspired games ๐Ÿ˜…. It almost sounds inspired by a game that was inspired by Zelda in turn, haha. Looks well done though, could be really nice i think!

Edit - It's Ocean's Heart actually, not Horn...well that's a little better at least ๐Ÿ˜„

Re: Review: Deathsmiles I & II - A Visually Impressive Panoramic Slice Of Bullet Hell

StefanN

@Kilroy @Warioware Doesn't that beg the question what OCD is by both of your definitions? I'm genuinely curious about this discussion now! By warioware's definition it doesn't seem like "an amusing quirk" can be "truly all that it is" ever. Sorry for hijacking this discussion, i was thinking about this same issue a lot in the past.

Also your first hand experience would be interesting to me Kilroy! Feel like it might help me understand the perspective

Re: Random: This Guy Has Been Mining Out An Entire Minecraft World For 4 Years, And He's Almost Finished

StefanN

@BoilerBroJoe Thank you for saying that - i would just disagree on the "tangible value" these products produce. They produce fun, ambitions and so much more. And that's just what this guy has too. Maybe some people here are just envious that he's getting news coverage for something that feels like "man i could have done that"? I honestly don't know but i like that you're on the positive side too ๐Ÿ˜„

Re: Star Wars: Hunters Shows The Force In Flashy New Trailer

StefanN

@GrailUK I like the way you said that haha

I hate that so many games adopt this Fortnite-ish cartoon style. Maybe that's not what they were going for and i just hate anything that resembles that game though. With the amount of Fortnite-looking games, i feel like it could be just me ๐Ÿ˜…

Re: Tails Of Iron Gets Expansive Free 'Bloody Whiskers' DLC

StefanN

Oh hell yeah, this game was sooooooooo good!! Just hope i can get the controls down again, after having been done with the game for a while now, they were quite confusing for a good while, haha.

Play this game folks, it's amazing! And personally, i really didn't find it too short, but rather adequate.

Re: Playtonic's Original Yooka-Laylee Game Is Getting A Follow-Up Title

StefanN

I was hoping for this!! The first one was very nice in parts and then not at all in others, eventually making me quit it. But i can totally see them getting it right the second time around, so yeah, i was hoping this would happen and i'm excited for it! Personally i'm happy for them that their second game was an actual success, but i just don't seem to be able to enjoy Donkey-Kong-style platforming. So i am more hyped for another go at a 3D platformer.
