Okay so, this was on the official Switch release schedule? And apparently they're only releasing this Royal Edition on PS4 and that's all news there is to it? Come on, i mean i don't see this game coming to Switch as anything other than a Cloud version, but there's gotta be more to it than just a game that was wrongly thought (by Nintendo themselves no less) to release on Switch.
I think the "It looks like a phone game" sentiment mainly comes from this being on iPhone for a while before release. Yes puzzle games lend themselves to phones, but i feel that the constant reminders everywhere, that this was on Apple Arcade, really get this view stuck in your mind.
Fun fact: When i started playing Dead Cells on my phone, i couldn't play it on Switch for a while anymore. Why? Because it felt like a phone game now. That's why i really feel it is mostly an association-thing.
Either way, this game is absolutely amazing and apart from my regularly scheduled Rocket League, this is all i've been playing for the past couple of days. It is simply incredible. Super satisfying, great gameplay loops, wonderful presentation (looove the music so much!) and just an incredibly addictive puzzle game overall. Get this game!
HELL YEAH, wow just yesterday night I was thinking to myself "Hey I wonder if the A Hat In Time developers are working on something new" and there it is! If anyone wants me to think of another developer tonight to get a new game from them, hit me up!
@Yanina Wow, i'm german and didn't even realize it was a pun, just thought Kartoffel was the first thing that came to their mind thinking about Germany hahaha
Definitely gonna want to get me some of those for me and a friend!
I was super excited for this game! The cuteness is right up my alley, just great adorable design without overdoing it. Super glad that it turned out great!
I remember always seeing this game in stores as a kid...it's one of those games that i never played but for some reason really stuck in my mind. So i was gonna try this remaster. Emphasis on "was" :/
I mean sure, others are probably going to enjoy it but i was thinking, "Oh cute bullet-hell shooter? An Enter The Gungeon-y game?" and then it's "cute but gore" which is soooo urgh to me. I just don't get how that's funny anymore.
Anyway, the game and the whole presentation of the trailer look good, hopefully it'll turn out to be a fun game for those who are into this gory stuff.
It's just amazing when there's details in a game that people might not see for a long time. Just has that going-the-extra-mile feeling to it. Making the game as great as it can be, not as good as it needs to. I love this!
I'm surprised nobody mentioned that the lead researcher seems like such a chill and funny dude hahaha, i mean: "He adds that the study "shows that if you play four hours a day of Animal Crossing, youโre a much happier human being, but thatโs only interesting because all of the other research before this is done so badly.""
HELLLLLLLLLL YESSSSSSSSS! Well, excuse me while i jump right into the Trine Discord Server and thank the devs for expanding Trine 4! I love this series so incredibly much!
There's a ton of Fortnite-looking games but uhm...not this one. I think some of you may have developed an even more generalized aversion to cartoon graphics than i did ๐
Wow, a rumor/leak directly from the eShop? That's believable for once then haha. Well i guess you can't actually call it a rumor, this is pretty much official, isn't it
Hellllll yeah! I've been excited for this update for months now! Exit The Gungeon is actually a great game, but at some point I just won every run, which I definitely can not do in Enter The Gungeon. I'm so hyped for some more variety in Exit and can't wait to play it again!
Wow, this trailer is much better than the ones before! Love the music, pacing, presentation, it really seems they stepped the production quality up a notch, which of course makes me hopeful that the game is just as lively. That brings me to my only concern so far: maaaybe the characters look a bit stiff in places? Or maybe not just them but the environment as well? I'm saying this because i love the look of it so far and just hope it won't be a "i would love to love it, but can't" kind of deal. I feel like this trailer is really really charming and i'm really excited for this. Also it's just amazing to think how this game looked at the beginning and what a long way it has come now, damn. Seriously impressive and i have huge respect for this dedication!
Thanks for the replies! I didn't know production costs were so high for a controller like this. Still a bummer that they are, but at least it's understandable then :/.
Man I love this. But the price tag is not exactly "accessible" ๐. I'm not saying that the price is a counterargument against valiant efforts to include people, i just feel like more people might get a chance to experience a for them potentially positive activity, if the price was lower. Idk, I'd love to hear some more opinions on what I said. I'm not stating it as definitive critique or something, just speculation.
@graysoncharles Did they patch the PS4 version? There was a video on YouTube showing quite the opposite of pretty good. In fact, it like looked what you would expect the Switch version to look like.
Edit - not hating on the game btw, i'm super interested in this!
@PBandSmelly Wait what? I'm reading stage builder and tits but not the connection between them. I don't play Smash, do you mean people are making stages to look like tits or?
@Yanina awwww don't pour salt into the wound please, that game looks great :/. But I've been revisiting Cities: Skylines recently and really enjoying it, so there's that
From the trailer, this looked worse graphically than i expected :/. I'll still take it, i love city builders and the Switch is so lacking in that area.
Okay wow, i've not enjoyed the game back when i played it on PC and was worried how i was missing the appeal that apparently was obvious to everybody else. This review gives me some reassurance that it's indeed possible that the game just isn't for me (and some others) haha. Still kind of curious to give it another go as i've had games that i gave another chance on Switch with positive results (Bioshock for example). I think the Switch being my much preferred gaming platform makes a huge difference for me.
How did they manage to make it look so good?! Man, i'm impressed! I hope that once a more powerful Switch comes around, we'll be treated to Planet Coaster, although that is more likely to happen on a next-gen Switch, rather than a Switch Pro
@RBRTMNZ In case it seemed like it, I wasn't addressing you in particular. Anyway, I'm in the same boat as you! I can't fit in more roguelikes because I already got so many games, including roguelikes, that I can easily sink a lot of time into ๐ .
@roadrunner343 I've been asking myself the same thing! How some people seem to dismiss Rogue-games even if they find them otherwise appealing. Well, but i also agree with the "i don't understand it" part, so i'll leave it at that, haha. For me personally, roguelike is somewhat of a turn-off as well ironically, just because i already got so many games that i love to sink time into, with Enter The Gungeon being my most played Switch game, haha.
@SwitchVogel I feel people really underestimate the amount of effort it takes to craft a well-balanced roguelike. Yeah, items are random, but the development process is not. I feel like that is sort of the connection people draw, "what could be hard about adding random things?". Try taming chaos in a way that makes it consistently fun for as many hours as possible, fair, challenging, interesting, rewarding etc. That is no small feat.
On-topic: Can't wait to play this game! Gonner 1 was amazing!
@hadrian Idk why, but at first i didn't like Lego City Undercover's gameplay either. But it somehow grew on me and i started to find more and more that i enjoyed. Now i absolutely love it.
I didn't even follow the News on the Switch. Just read on some sites that they got a new console. Man, now that i have two Switches that i love so deeply, watching this reveal makes me so excited like as if i'm hearing about it for the first time hahaha
@ferryb001 Not gonna happen before >at least< a Switch Pro. But even then, it's far more likely to happen for a Switch 2. There's a reason we got RCT3 and Jurassic World both by Frontier but not Planet Coaster i'm afraid :/.
@Bomberman64 Would be super interesting! Personally, i just feel like, why would i buy it on PC when i can have it portable and stationary? And with indie games that the Switch can easily handle, there's just no downside to playing them on it. I feel like the take-it-anywhere aspect is huge for many people.
Kudos to Epic for making so many people think, Apple is the bad guy here . Like seriously, they don't even have to justify themselves, people play right into their hands.
@link3710 But is this transformative? Like, i'm really wondering. I can't imagine that this would be legal.
Someone complained about the price tag of like 10 pounds. I mean...come on, you don't just pay for the paper, i honestly find the price for the effort put into this pretty okay. ๐
Oh hell yeah, love reading more about this game and its making! This game is just so amazing and i seriously wish it and its developers so so so much success!
@Yanina Seriously, that would be such a huge incentive to buy Ring Fit, if more games released for the peripheral. Really just fun additional downloadable minigames, if you own one and Ring Fit could become like a one-stop shop for all your workout needs. Right now, i'm curious about Ring Fit Adventure, but it's just this one game, right? And if i don't like it, then what? I'm not into turn-based RPGs, so i can't imagine myself enjoying it. Luckily ARMS does help get a slight workout in, when it's an otherwise lazy day.
