Today sees the release of the latest game set in the Peppa Pig universe, as My Friend Peppa Pig launches on Nintendo Switch.
From publisher Outright Games, the game is said to be a fun-filled adventure that's "just like being in an episode of the TV show". Players get to choose and dress up their own character, before meeting up with fan-favourite characters from the hit show and checking out plenty of familiar locations.
"Create and dress your character, ring Peppa’s doorbell, and begin a story that’s all up to you. Peppa suggests activities everywhere you go – help Daddy Pig find his glasses, follow the animal tracks in the Forest, splash in muddy puddles, and much more!
It’s just like being in an episode of the TV show, where all your favourite characters are excited to meet you. From the Beach to the Museum and even Potato City, every playtime is a new experience with your friend Peppa Pig."
If you're thinking of picking this one up for a little one in your life, you might be interested to hear that the game actually includes some custom-built parental controls. In the settings, you can set a play time limit which makes Peppa end the game at a time of your choosing – maybe they'll actually listen to Peppa when it's time to turn it off!
You can buy the game starting today either from the eShop or in physical form for £34.99 / $39.99.

Can't wait to see it win most categories in the game awards.
Is it any good? Might get it for the little one.
This game has Mr. Potato in it!
Feels like a big miss that the game doesn't come with multiple spoken languages.
Sniffy comments aside, this really does look quite impressive for little ones, reminds me bizarrely enough of the South Park games with how much it looks like the actual show. That said, speaking for my own kids I wonder how big the market would actually be, as by the time kids are old enough to work a controller effectively are they too old for Peppa Pig?
Go back in time and show this to a kid version of yourself, and tell them that it's a video game that looks just like the show. The kid version of you will be scared that a weird looking adult is talking to them.
The game will still look impressive though!
Price tag is pretty high — I hope the game content will stand up to it.
They nailed the art style and graphics. Bet it looks stunning on the OLED Model.
Hope it's fun to play for kids or whoever else may want to play it.
Peppa Pig: The Telltale Series
40 dollars for a kids game that is just absurd
Glad to see Peppa landing in her feet after that episode of Family Guy
This looks great. I'm sure my kids would've loved this if it was translated.
caddicarus is going to like this lol
Pepper for smash!!
Peppa dropped her video game before Kanye...
No Captain Emergency the blind mole who flies planes and helicopters??
Voiced by Dominic Byrne of the Chris Moyles Show??
Sorry that's a deal breaker for me
But it does look brilliant for kids
@CharlieGirl Hahahaha
@Thelastjedi2007 nah this game looks legit I pre-ordered for my 7 year old
Peppa and George are voiced by other actors
@bluesdance I mean, Donda dropped?
@NoLife
It does though
Hmm. My kids are almost out of the age where they are still interested in Peppa Pig, but they are still early in their years. Maybe they would still like to play this one since I don't usually let them play video games right now. They get too crazy!
If this was like a Meat Canyon version of Peppa Pig, I might be interested. Otherwise, hard pass.
Here's to hoping for the ultimate crossover, Peppa x Parappa.
I don't expect Nintendo Life to do a review of this, but I kind of hope they will... if this is any good I'd love to try it out (on sale, mind you). I mean, my son would love to try it. He's a bit of an expert at Peppa Pig.
This is just the type of garbage that ‘Antimatter’ laps up
This seems really nice for parents who have kids that enjoy the show - basically the same approach that South Park games took, making it feel like an episode. Hopefully it's worth the price and provides a long enough distraction
I still laugh just thinking about the clip where Peppa Pig is asking her friend on the phone if she knows how to whistle. 😂
@HamatoYoshi Well, he does like specific genres, but I wouldn't call Peppa garbage. It's actually pretty clever. One of the better cartoons in my opinion.
@Abeedo the winnier is....PEPA PIG
@Badihajaj lol
I had never heard of Peppa Pig until I saw the game in the upcoming releases section of the Switch eshop. Just gotta say "Peppa Pig" everytime I see the words. So fun to say!
@ILD not in swedish.
@NoLife
But it does. Even in Swedish.
I hope that Peppa Pig never visits a grocery store. Talk about traumatic.
Wait! Bandai Namco is behind this game? I wonder how Pac-Man would look like in Peppa's world.
Cool concept, but I showed the trailer to my kid and she immediately recognized the voices are different and said there's something wrong with their eyes. That money would be better spent taking her to the Peppa World of Play or buying a month (4.99) of the mobile app which looks like it has more content.
@NoLife
Steam version says swedish tho
@NoLife guess Nintendo listing is missing it as Swedish is on the other platforms
Does anybody know if there is a walkthrough or a strategy guide for this game? I’m finding it difficult. Bosses are really tough!!
Is it a procedurally generated roguelike???
Got this and regret it. While they did a good job bringing in the voices from the show in different languages, the load times are too frequent and pathetically long. The studio did not do a good job bringing this to the switch. My 3 yr old gets bored to death with the incessant loading.
