Re: Nintendo Profits Dip as amiibo Hits Over 40 Million Sales in Nine Months

Socar

@electrolite77 @Grumblevolcano Except that Nintendo tried that for Amiibo festival and it didn't turn out right now did it. Also, that still doesn't change the fact that they are twice expensive than your typical DLC because you have to buy each individual figure to enjoy the overall experience.

Amiibo isn't like that at all. For 13$, you get bonus content and its optional if you want it or not. Nobody is telling you to get the DLC but you only.

Also, having cheaper models and the expensive ones.....really? That's the best solution. Also, having it just a figure that does nothing in the end doesn't stick out well because otherwise, there's no reason why Nintendo would have to use cheap plastic for the appeal when so many others do it better at a costlier price.

The one thing you guys are bumped about is that there will be plans to use amiibo per game from this forth and I'm telling you that while it is going to happen, its not like what you think.

For the sake of the argument, let's just say that Nintendo does force players to pay more for content you're suppose to get once you paid a price. That wouldn't matter because by the time people realize that amiibo have to be bought to play any Nintendo game, Nintendo would have to improve on the supply demand twice as much as what they are doing now which is expensive and something that Nintendo knows that if they do this, they limit to the ones who can't afford 80$ for even a handheld game.

Look, its simple, let Nintendo know that the Amiibo thing for content needs to be fixed and they will do it, simple as that. But that's not going to happen because not that many have issues with it.

Re: Nintendo Profits Dip as amiibo Hits Over 40 Million Sales in Nine Months

Socar

@arronishere @electrolite77 Here's the big issue here. Nintendo now having amiibo can't simply leave amiibo because of it being a now demanded thing.

If they offered all the content at a cheaper price which is cheaper than that of the amiibo, then what's the point of having the amiibo? Everyone would most likely choose the former path simply because the amiibo are hard to find.

On the other hand, if Nintendo doesn't do much to the amiibo, then what's the whole point of getting one which is twice as expensive as a typical DLC mode?

Its a choice that Nintendo at this point made. Have you ever thought to yourself one bit that the reason they exist isn't because they are forced on you but rather because if you like a game and want more content out of it, you would be willing to spend more additional money for it because of it being the best game ever made?

Tell me, just how many games has Nintendo made use of the amiibo? like about 27 out of the hundreds of games that are out there. How many third parties have made use of amiibo knowing that they can get extra money off from Nintendo? Like barely any.

If you like a game, you have a choice of whether to get the DLC or not. I love Awakening and even though I would love to get more DLC over it, I only got one not because of my currency issues, but simply because I had enough fun with the entire content that the DLC was just an optional thing for me.

I made a choice that I don't want to get Marth amiibo just to get him in fates simply because fates alone has enough content for me to enjoy even if they are separate.

So really, what do you want Nintendo to do at this point? Because like I said earlier, its too late for them to end production of the amiibo.

Also, they release amiibo cards which are cheaper than the amiibo.

Re: Nintendo Profits Dip as amiibo Hits Over 40 Million Sales in Nine Months

Socar

Many of you seem to be down about Amiibo.....I'll be honest, I'm surprised that it reached 40 million so fast within two years. But seeing as how its done, I'm not that disappointed because again, you don't need them to enjoy the full game. Its more like expanding the gameplay and that's that.

I will agree that Nintendo might have to make the amiibo cheaper which they are doing btw. But seriously, how is the amiibo a bad sign for you if it doesn't or won't bother you one bit?

I want to get Fates. Sure, getting Marth is awesome and all but its not really forcing me to get the amiibo to unlock him now is it? I can just play Fates that way I want it to be played.

Re: Monster Hunter X (Cross) Sales Hit 3.2 Million as Capcom Talks Up 'Firm' Overseas Results

Socar

I'm not really interested in it, but so what? It keeps Capcom alive and that's all that matters because honestly, Capcom is a pretty good third party dev out there and is doing far better than what SEGA could wish they had done like Capcom earlier.

Nintendo....buy Capcom. I may not have any interest in Capcom games besides Mega Man and Strider but if you buy them, you own all their IP's which means that nobody will ever complain that Nintendo games are Kiddie!

But.....that's never gonna happen and even if it does happen, the ones who bought Capcom games on PC, Sony and Microsoft stuff will now complain wishing them to go back third party.

Re: Nintendo Outlines Details of DLC Map Pack One in Fire Emblem Fates

Socar

@PlywoodStick IF i want the real story, I'd buy both the versions. Also, have you played the game? Because if you played it, why would you buy them again?

If I remember correctly, Birthright is the hero side, Conquest is the dark side and Revelation is the Neutral side. Beyond that is optional DLC.

Look, if the story is more valuable than the entire experience of the game, I understand the frustration that you have, but the fact that even Nintendolife hasn't even stated how mandatory it is to play all the games to enjoy the whole story let alone the gameplay further proves that while the story should be great, it doesn't sound like you need all the three to enjoy it better.

Do you need all the Zelda games to get the entire timeline? No and that's something Nintendo hasn't even bothered to do since then. Does that ruin the experiences that each game has? No. The same goes for Fates.

We shall see how things will end up in this game. If the game sells well, then no need to complain. But I'm positive that it will sell huge because for crying out loud, the edition itself is out of stock.

Re: Nintendo Outlines Details of DLC Map Pack One in Fire Emblem Fates

Socar

What the hell is wrong with you guys?

Nobody and I repeat NOBODY is telling you or forcing you to buy all the three games. They are ALL OPTIONAL EVEN THE THIRD PATH.

We don't even know if the game as a whole forces the player to get all the versions or not and not even Nintendo life has mentioned that it does so.

And the DLC....if you can buy them individually, what the hell is the problem then? I can understand that if you are forced to buy it as a pack only to get so little out of it, but this isn't the case.

Seriously, calm the hell down. You guys realise that this game was already out in Japan last year right and that they made the DLC according to that.

Re: Hyrule Warriors Legends Secures Third Place in Japanese Charts, With Sales Below Wii U Predecessor

Socar

Wow SEGA, for just making ports of existing games, you sure know how to fool the consumers big time. Just look at those Yakuza games. Yakuza: Kiwami is just a remake of the first game. If SEGA simply ports their "good" games instead of making more "good" games, then SEGA is suffering even more than Nintendo. Atleast Nintendo makes new games every year. What does SEGA do besides milking the hell out of their glory days games?

I can never understand how SEGA manages to just ignore the western market and yet pretends like it does care about the western market. Everyone is praising SEGA for porting Valkyria Chronicles to the PS4 for the west. May I ask why? The game is out on PC. What makes it so tempting to just get it on PS4?

Re: Hands On: Seeking an Awakening in Fire Emblem Fates

Socar

Wait.....the article doesn't explain whether the game is built so that you need all the three games to enjoy the entire story.....that's odd as I was wondering if that will be the biggest issue that Fates will have.

Also, this is what? Birthright or Conquest? Are they both balanced well interms of single player?

Re: Review: Final Fantasy Explorers (3DS)

Socar

I don't want to bash the game for not reaching expectactions and all and I hope the ones who want to play it can get the best out of it.....but honestly, I feel that Square Enix is beginning to lose its image as an RPG developer.

The latest Final Fantasy game doesn't look like Final Fantasy and the only thing that works for them is Dragon Quest which rarely gets localized.

Re: Rumour: Intelligent Systems Is Working On New Paper Mario For Wii U

Socar

@amiiboacid Well some gamers are playing the waiting game to get the Wii U..,,, and by the time that happens, the NX will be revealed.

If the NX is released next year, as much as I hate to say it, its pointless to get the Wii U unless the NX isn't backwards compatible which is likely that it will......

Re: Sega Has Some "Interesting" Sonic News For Us Next Month

Socar

@SamirMalik All but Hatsune Miku were just average. And Yakuza 5 even if it came out four years ago, why release it on PS3 instead of PC/PS4 then? It could sell well enough to convince SEGA to localise Yakuza games actually and yet, they were dumb to do the opposite. So only one game being solid and that's that. Still nowhere as good as what Nintendo released last year as they atleast released 5 solid games.

Re: Nintendo Removes Infamous Drugging Scene From Western Localisation Of Fire Emblem Fates

Socar

I'm convinced....NoA is definitely gonna censor a LOT of things for this game. Its always has been and it always will be.

I think people don't understand the difference between Nintendo and Nintendo of America. Nintendo makes games and releases them.....Nintendo of America is the one who censors the content, localizes the games to the west and markets the games to the west....all of which while understandable are something they really need to work harder on.

.....NoA, if Nintendo is fine with it, why oh why do you have to have to censor it and give Nintendo an even badder image when Nintendo is fine with it? This is freaking Fire Emblem. Its about simulation. For pete's sake, why do you tone it down when you know that kids can't get into these kind of games?

And now we have to pray to gods that this game has to sell well otherwise we won't get some FE localisation.....

Re: Sega Has Some "Interesting" Sonic News For Us Next Month

Socar

@SamirMalik I've played a LOT from SEGA. I've played Shinobi, Valkyria Chronicles, After Burner, Phantasy Star and many many more.

You love SEGA? Well then what excuse do they have releasing Yakuza 5 on PS3 instead of PS4/PC? What reason we can't get Phantasy Star Online 2? And what reason does SEGA really matter to the industry even? Its not like their games manage to stand out and even then, its not that many. Like only one or two gems out from them and the rest is garbage at best.

Re: Tatsumi Kimishima Is Aiming To Quadruple Nintendo's Operating Profits

Socar

@Tsurii Don't compare Nintendo and EA. You know very well that Nintendo is far better than EA.

The amount of content that you get in Battlefront is nowhere as huge as what you get for Smash. If you buy the deluxe edition, you get an overpowered gun plus one emote.......do you honestly think that Smash is that bad?

Now I can understand Nintendo trying to go into the capcom route, but even then, it doesn't feel like on disc dlc nor does it feel as bad as how Square Enix did with one of the Final Fantasy games where inorder to not get a cliffhanger for the ending, you have to buy DLC content in it.

Re: Tatsumi Kimishima Is Aiming To Quadruple Nintendo's Operating Profits

Socar

@Tsurii The reason they are priced like that is because of value and not because of them wanting more money. Stop with things claiming that they are overpriced because DLC needs money and so that cost reflects on the amount of work they put into the DLC which is why I'm least bothered about the prices for Smash.

Re: Fire Emblem Fates New Nintendo 3DS XL Model Confirmed, Along With DLC Details

Socar

@sillygostly I thought that someone like you might be negative about this.

Let's look at this carefully now.

You don't need to get both the games to enjoy the entire story. When you get one game, the other will cost 19$.......doesn't really sound all that money grabbing.

As for Revelation.....you're getting a side story that has some length here. Obviously, that's solid and optional. Map packs? You are getting 11 maps per pack....how is this not worth purchasing?
