Re: Mario Ambassador Charles Martinet Nintendo Live 2024 Q&A

Socar

@PinderSchloss Lol what? If he was being used, then he surely wouldn't have signed up becoming an Ambassador in the first place

Anyways i've been saying this throughout. Nintendo can just re-use his voices that have like 5 million clips archived and it would not make any difference and the new Mario Party game is just proving that point. That said I am happy for him. I cried when the news was revealed that he would not be voicing the characters in the games anymore but Kevin isn't too bad with the voice and his voice is only going to improve.

My only concern is how would Kevin be on this as he seems a lot more quiet than Charles.

Re: Metroid Games You Need To Play Before Metroid Dread

Socar

I wouldn't choose Super Metroid to a newcomer in all honesty as the world is huge and you'll easily feel lost unless you know what you're doing.

Zero Mission is the best start point with its decent difficulty. If you like the structure, then go with Fusion as the level structure is not very large.

Finally..if you want challenge, then play Metroid 2 and then Super Metroid

Re: Ace Attorney And Ghost Trick Return To The iOS Store

Socar

@dartmonkey with all due respect, my point is missed.

And yes I have seen the prices of ghost trick on ds and yes it's high as of now. That doesn't mean that it's ok to reveal the game on a platform when the site is suppose to be dedicated on Nintendo news solely. This isn't relevant to Nintendo other than no longer being exclusives which happened long before this headline.

And it's not even a good version of the game either as the original is still the best way to the game. That is all.

Look you're free to post what you want as long as it's relevant to what news you post which in this case is Nintendo which the headline must be missing games on eshop are back..not this.

Re: Ace Attorney And Ghost Trick Return To The iOS Store

Socar

@KateGray Except the problem is that the games are already available on other platforms so talking about them being removed on the IOS is practically moot.

The point of Nintendo related is to cover up games that is specifically on Nintendo consoles or if Nintendo based games are released on mobile. Why would a community based on Nintendo care about former Nintendo third party exclusives that are elsewhere knowing full well that they would rather get it on Nintendo consoles?

If you're going to cover this up, might as well cover up all non-Nintendo news especially on a site that is supposed to focus purely on Nintendo news.

Re: Ace Attorney And Ghost Trick Return To The iOS Store

Socar

Ok...and I as someone who reads Nintendo news should care about them being in IOS because?

And just because Nintendo release their phone games in IOS doesn't essentially mean that its ok to talk IOS news especially if those games originated from Nintendo consoles.

Re: Review: Famicom Detective Club: The Missing Heir - A Delightful And Silly Mystery

@Indielink

" The visual upgrades made to the game are above and beyond what you would expect from an under-the-radar remake of a 30-year-old Japanese title. The animation technology used to make characters move and speak is reminiscent of how TV show Archer does it — a lot is achieved with a little, and characters will tilt their heads, smile, and toss their hair with convincing personality. "

Where do you see anything on a positive note regarding visuals? Cause I can't figure out the point the reviewer was trying to make.

Re: Review: Famicom Detective Club: The Missing Heir - A Delightful And Silly Mystery

Socar

@everynowandben I do write reviews. I just find this one rather unpleasant. Is there an option to submit my reviews here at Nintendolife?

Anyways, doesn't really matter since Nintendolife still has better reviewers like Tom and Alex.

@Indielink I don't want to bother spoiling the puzzles for myself thank you very much. Even so, many points she brings up are not making any sense. Is it suppose to be bad that the game is having visuals similar to Archer or a good thing? Because most visual games are illustrated in that manner.

Re: Review: Famicom Detective Club: The Missing Heir - A Delightful And Silly Mystery

Socar

@Indielink No its not. Because in that case that's more on you not able to figure it out and not the fault of the puzzle itself. That isn't fair for the 8 rating if you can't figure out the puzzle.

I mean a game like La-Mulana knowing for having obtuse puzzles is rated an 8 here but is praised for its puzzles despite that and the con was wonky controls.

And no I'm not a fan of sarcasim especially if a review is to target people who are interested in products that they might like. This review leaves a lot that I can't honestly figure out if its a good thing or not.

Re: Review: Famicom Detective Club: The Missing Heir - A Delightful And Silly Mystery

Socar

@Indielink @everynowandben I read the review, she mentioned specific puzzles that spoil the puzzle. Sure, many reviewers do this but this is an adventure genre based game. Of course you're going to expect cryptic puzzles at some point so why should that factor in the score?

Games like Maniac Mansion, Grim Fandango are difficult because of cryptic puzzles. But they are adventure games and there is little you can do in them.

But ok, I can take that as a con. It still doesn't cover up the Phoenix wright argument as that can only be understood to those who played Pheonix Wright. What about those who can't?

And what does not getting a sequel have anything to do with being a con? Plenty of games don't get sequels and they don't get criticism for not getting a sequel.

Re: Review: Famicom Detective Club: The Missing Heir - A Delightful And Silly Mystery

Socar

@Maxz Read the full review and still don't get why its an 8. If its similar to Phoneix Wright, then being obtuse isn't a flaw. If the visuals are something like Archer..is that suppose to be bad?

Anyways, the reviewer is stating that its like Pheonix Wright..but doesn't say to those whether this game can be picked up if you haven't played Pheonix wright in the slightest.

Basically complaining about the core idea of adventure games and how frustrating it is to solve problems when that's literally how these adventure games are designed to begin with. Unless if she meant that they are cryptic..in which case..ok fair enough..but that's not mentioned even a bit.

Re: Xbox Says It's "More Important Than Ever" To Preserve Gaming Icons And Classics

Socar

How do you feel Nintendo is doing with the whole video game preservation thing this generation? Is its Switch Online SNES and NES service enough?

Nintendo actually preserves their games FAR more often than Sony and Microsoft. Heck, the fact that they attempt to port their decade old games from every gen proves it.

The only problem is that unlike those two, Nintendo hasn't done anything to bring in the demand of their legacy content further.
