Eh, it's a funny little commentary on the game. Nothing more.
It's like how, in the first one on Gamecube, I would complain about having to criss-cross town so many times because Nosegay lent her Gameboy to Buck, but he gave it to Alli, who gave it to Eloise who probably ate it after dropping it in a bag of peanuts for all I know.
I don't hate that game, I love it. It's just fun to see how... weird these animals can be when trying to compare them to humans.
@Dr_Lugae I remember YouTube channels around that time saying it was "out now, by the time this video is uploaded." I could've sworn I saw a download link somewhere too.
I remember this starting as some random Starmen.net forum post in response to Itoi saying he probably wasn't going to make another. It's a wonder it even got this far.

@MsgBoardGamer I don't think you understand how pack-ins work.
Let's also ignore for the sake of the argument the fact that a lot of those millions of people bought 1-2-Switch because there simply wasn't anything else out at the time (except for Zelda.)
Now, you may recall people also spent their money on Mario Kart 7, Super Sm4sh Bros., Splatoon, etc. and they were soon bundled in with their respective consoles. (Still are in some cases.) Many times game becomes a pack-in because they sell well. They've made their money back, and have taken their place as a game that would help "sweeten the deal" on that purchase.
I remember my aunt bought four original DSs for her four kids. They didn't know how to share, so that eventually became 4 separate copies of the same game, etc. I know she didn't like doing that, but with them being portable consoles where local multiplayer on them is (almost) impossible, it makes a bit more sense.
The Switch, on the other hand, is very much designed for local multiplayer. Probably the most designed for that out of the Big 3 consoles. Just pop out the two joycons and you'll be playing Metal Slug with a friend in no time. I don't think it's completely necessary to buy extras, but then again, my mom/stepdad bought myself, my brother and sister their own Gamecubes... so it really just depends on the family in question I suppose.
Amen to that. At least we're getting closer to being actually able to play the fan translations on real hardware with Rhea and Phoebe. But still, strategy titles like these would be right at home on the Switch.
These are always things I've wanted to do, but I've never had the time or money or time to learn how to do them. I have done the region plastic tab removal though, and it's honestly what every US SNES owner should do. (Forget the dremel, they'll come out easy with pliers.)
Thinking of just picking up some HD Retrovision component cables. I have the Genesis ones, and I'm beyond impressed with how crisp it looks on my HDTV.
@Joker13z That's not the impression I got at all. Sure, the OMG HATE reactions to his positive review of BotW was a factor, but the main thing was time. He's focusing on a lot of different kinds of content now, like Commentocracy, Loose Boys, etc. and doesn't want the constant stress of having to finish games quickly to get the review out in a reasonable amount of time. Not to mention, many publishers won't send him advance copies anymore since he won't guarantee them a 10/10. No, really.
I'm fine with his direction, tbh. He still does "Jimpressions" on the games. Just his candid thoughts as he plays it.
All I'm hearing from Retro-Bit is: "Guys! Wait! We swear we've got it right this time!"
The original Generations was such a crapshoot, with games stuck sideways for no reason, an other odd emulation errors, which sadly have no way to be fixed since the console was locked down.
Now they expect us to trust them with a 90 game console, of which not all the games have even been confirmed yet? Pass.
I've never heard of Earth Atlantis, but I love Metal Slug and In The Hunt, so this looks like something that could scratch that itch. Color me curious, perhaps even moreso than I am about Stardew Valley.
Granted, I've got a big backlog and a small budget this month so I'll probably have to pass on these until next month or so.
I think it's telling about this collection of games, and perhaps the SNES library as a whole, that even with only the 20+1 it has, it's an insanely great collection of some of the greatest games of all time. I was talking with one of my coworkers about the games included and so many times I said the phrase "defining game of its genre."
That said, I echo what some said elsewhere in the comments that it could've used a few more multiplayer games. Maybe even release a mini multitap attachment like this?
@justin233 I say they take it one step further and make Wrecking Crew '18. Throw in some local, online multiplayer and it would be a great little eShop exclusive between big Ninty releases.
I've actually been playing Niantic's other game, Ingress, and have been having a great time. For one, it's actually a completed product. (Pokemon Go is still in beta.) There's nearby faction chat, and an actual strategy element to holding certain areas down.
Also, us Ingress players get to decide where your Poke Stops and gyms go. So be nice and we may just plop a few in your rural area.
That's nothing. A good friend of mine made a RetroPi inside of an NES controller.
Controller can still be used to control the games. If you're playing something that needs more than two buttons, you can connect another controller, either wired-in USB or Bluetooth (even works with Switch controllers!) or WiFi if that's your thing.
It's a (debatable) 5, imho. The title might as well be "Side-Scrolling Beat-'em-Up" because that's exactly what it is. Nothing more, nothing less. Its biggest crime is being hopelessly generic.
I say pick it up in the SNK Arcade Classics Collection, something you could probably find for about $8 these days.
Well of course it's going to come to Switch because I just bought a PS4 and the version of the game there, even though I'd loooove to have a portable version.
@holygeez03
Oh look, it's this argument again. Yeah, I disagree.
Carved-out DLC is not a symptom of inflation or "games cost more to make now." It's a symptom of the corporate culture that's weeding itself into every crevice of the industry. The name of the game is "How Can We Make More Money" It's been going on at 2K for a long time, and they're sticking it out so that you and other gamers can just "get used to it." Sadly, it seems to be working.
As other commenters have pointed out, season passes and carved-out DLC a new thing for a Nintendo console. Just look around you. Nintendo's been providing "complete games" at the popular $60 price point. Splatoon got weapons, maps, and continued support for nearly two years, and you never had to pay extra for it. Splatoon 2 appears to be following suit, along with ARMS. Not to mention, both of these examples still use the "play through the game, put in the time, and get rewarded with unlockables" model. Had 2K published Splatoon, you can bet the Sloshing Machine would be gated behind a $4.99 paywall, or 500 coins of whatever F2P-style currency they'd come up with. (this after you've already paid them $60.)
When Nintendo offers DLC, it's only on top of the complete $60 game they sold you. Breath of the Wild was a huge, expansive experience, and the two waves of DLC in its "expansion pass" were an extra bit of icing on the cake. Had 2K published Breath of the Wild, you can bet you'd need to cough up more money to do so much as store an extra horse at the stable, or get access to all 120 shrines. (on top of that $60!)
But why stop at Nintendo? Horizon: Zero Dawn is another great recent example of a PS4 game that was made and sold complete (at that magic $60 level!) and only shortly after release was the concept of expansion DLC even brought up.
So no, it's not all game developers who are going down the route of 2K, Activision, EA, etc. It's a growing number of them, but there's not only "two options." There's still plenty of examples out there of why carved out DLC and season passes (selling said DLC before it even exists) don't need to exist to make good, complete, successful games.
But you're right about one thing. If they don't like it, consumers should refuse to buy these carved-out remains (I mean, come on, the Hardy's are on the main roster, they should be in the main game!) to send 2K a message. After the backlash NBA2K18 has gotten, that message might finally be getting through.
I've never heard of this guy before, (I stay away from YouTube drama) but my main problem so far is that it's taken him well over a minute to get to the damn point.
He falls into the category of YouTuber that's more concerned with irrelevant channel business first, which is also something I avoid.
The big factor people are failing to realize is that when USF2 released on Switch, there wasn't much else to choose from. People (like me) were hungry for a good fighting game to take on the go.
I think we're still at a point where releases are sparse enough on the Switch that if MvC Infinite could still find quite an audience here.
I know the screenshot above might not be doing it justice, but ewww! That stretched out image is horrendous! Yuck!
@Ryno's got the right idea. I think people don't realize that you can find a real SNES for around $30 these days. If you want to get HD with it, those component cables are top notch and come pretty darn close to xRGB quality. At least, it'll look way better than this piece of crap encased in plastic.
And that's aside from the 100% compatibility you'll get by not buying a Famiclone, and you won't have to worry about Hyperkin's spotty track record of properly licensing the emulators they sell.
This is what happens when you have a yearly release schedule. No time to fix bugs before you put it out there. Devs today don't realize you only get one chance to make a first impression.
This one's got a certain charm to it. Sure, it's from the era of fighting games where having 2 playable characters in single player mode was a luxury, but they really polished these two characters. That said, it hasn't aged well, and only the most devoted Neo Geo fighters (like me) need apply.
I mean, it's a whole lot better than AoF 2 and its ridiculously unforgiving CPU opponents... even on Level-1 difficulty.
@JaguarWong hit the nail on the head. The cover art/title remind me of crappy ripoff shareware titles from the mid 90s. Couple that with a high-for-its-kind price tag, (even the new price is a little high) and its release on a system that I haven't turned on since I bought the Switch, it's pretty low on my to-buy list.
It doesn't help that most of its marketing consists of numerous articles on Nintendo Life. Join us next week for "Chicken Wiggle's icon looks vaguely like Angry Birds, says one guy on Twitter."
In relation to the .gif file that's on the front page, which doesn't seem to be in this article of some reason, how are they getting the Switch to stand longways, upright like that? I've tried that and it doesn't seem to work with the kickstand the way it is. Strikers 1945 would be friggin' awesome this way!
I... have played the first 30 minutes of this before my Xbox360 was stolen, but otherwise I'll claim #386 of people who've never really played this yet.
I loved Sunshine. It still holds up for me today whenever I've gone back to it. I've never had these camera control issues or control control issues. I've never had any problems with the Pachinko level either.
I guess it depends on what era of gaming you grew up in.
An icon's job is to tell people in one small image what it is they are about to click on. Sonic Mania's works just fine, given its vibrant art style and instantly recognizable, discenable character. No title is needed (especially since you get the title when you highlight the icon.) Snake Way's icon does okay in this regard too, while we're at it.
All we see for Lego Worlds is a bunch o' blocks. What is it? Is it Minecraft? A Minecraft clone? Who knows.
But still... calm the frick down. There's a lot bigger things to be outraged about in the world right now.

Re: Pokémon Duel Gets a Substantial New Update
I've had this sitting on my phone for a while. I might have to open it finally.
Re: Quest of Dungeons is Fighting Its Way to the Switch eShop on 14th September
Isn't this the one with the pre-bought sprites/ui/assets that have been used to death in dozens of Unity games already?
Oh yeah.
Re: Not One But Two Prototypes For NES Sim City Are Discovered
@Shiryu
Maybe it's just the PC version box? (can't find a good picture of its spine.)
Anyhoo, as I shared with the jury on that uCity Game Boy Color game yesterday, here's a painfully 90s clip of (another) time the NES SimCity made it on the telly.
