I'm just stoked to have a good Switch version of Hanafuda finally. You'd think this would be something Nintendo would release very quickly on each of its consoles. Maybe because they still manufacture the real cards...

I mostly agree that the way that the eggs took over our islands' ecosystems was invasive, to say the least. I just hope it doesn't make them so scarce that people like me without dozens of hours to spend on this game per day will have trouble completing the set now.

Really, the problem is this isn't how they should be giving us the eggs in the first place. I can only hope they come up with new methods for future events.

Finally, someone else gets it. The COVID-19 outbreak isn't the reason it might get canceled, it's the most convenient excuse in the face of its growing irrelevancy.

The decision to pivot this from a press-only insider event to a public event for "insiders" (more like just another gaming convention, really) has only muddied the waters as to what E3 is supposed to be about. Trying to be both things for both groups of people has only lead to confusion and inadequacy for all people attending.

Taking the year off may be their best move in the long run, if anything, to reevaluate themselves.

We live in a world where Beyonce' drops whole albums out of nowhere. There's no reason games can't do it too.

That said, I, and probably few others, have never heard of My.Games, so I doubt a big press/ad leadup would've done any better. It's a shooter that looks just like hundreds of others from this and last console generation. The only eyebrow raiser here is the fact that it's on Switch.

You can already play Famicom Wars on NSO. Just download the Japanese app. It's not translated, but you don't really need one. There's a good guide on StrategyWiki to show you what all the units are and whatnot.

My personal longshot wish would be Turrican. Whether it's the mutant-warrior from the first one, or the Assault-Suit style from the other games, he would be an absolute blast to play as.

That looks like it would be weird to hold, but I think I remember saying that about the Switch also when I first saw it.

I wound up getting PacMan Championship Edition... in the Japanese eShop... where it was actually on sale.

And I snagged Puyo Puyo Champions for $4 since apparently they didn't want to include the English translation in the Japanese version despite pretty much everyone else doing that including yourselves, Sega.

I've been saying the whole time that a new Stadium/Colosseum would be the solution to the apparent reasons behind Dexit. A game where they don't worry about a world map, story and other singleplayer trappings, and just focus on those great animations and models for battle.

Also, while it's apparently now on the table, new Pokemon Pinball, please.

I had just about given up hope that we'd ever see another Pokemon Spinoff game that wasn't a mobile-gatcha. Sure, it's just a remake, but it's a start. I love the art style!

You'd hope with the long delay between announcement to... 2nd announcement that they actually made their own this time.

You don't need Nintendo's "official" stylus that's bundled with this game. Any old capacitive stylus will do. You can get a pack of three that can also be used as ink pens for about $10usd.

Great games. With the exception of Tetris 99 however, I don't seem to go to them that often. I guess when I haven't put in as much of a monetary investment, I can't bring myself to put in more of a time investment.

Or I just have too many games. Yeah, probably that.

PSA: Don't worry about shelling out extra for a physical stylus bundle. You can get a pack of three capacitive styluses that are also real writing pens for about $10 USD.

I still got my pack from Super Mario Maker and may just create a European account to get this. There hasn't been any announcement of this stateside, has there?

This is great news for what has been an extremely tumultuous development cycle for Metroid Prime 4. Let's hope that for once, the game that comes as a result of this is much much better than games under these conditions usually turn out.

Demon's Tilt looks really interesting. Might wait for the review though... Alien Crush Returns was a regrettable snooze fest so I'm a little more cautious on nostalgia-driven "spiritual reboots."

Dead Cells, Rocket League, and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate were my most played across 567 hours this year.

I feel like I played a whole lot more. Then I realize that's 23 and a half days... like I spent nearly a whole month this year playing Switch.

Yeah... I hear ya there. Then again they also gave NBA2K20 a 3 despite it having literal real-money slot machines in it, so I think they've been a little suspect as of late.

When is MyNintendo going to catch up to the next generation?

Seriously, even in the US, for their "birthday present" this year, I got my choice of a **discount** of a handful of games on WiiU and 3DS, most of which I already have.

Music streaming would be great if Switch could multitask it somehow, but it's not that big a deal. I could always just use my phone and/or smart speaker in the rare event I want an alternate soundtrack to my game.

Believe it or not, I still get StreetPasses on mine from time to time. Of course, now that I'm running homebrew on mine, I'd love to see the confused looks on their faces when they see what I'm playing.

But hey, work simulators are really huge for certain people, (especially Germans for some reason.) Conflicts of interest aside, this probably is an 8 for some people.

Gaming-wise, I got 8bitdo's SN30+ controller, and their wireless Gamecube controller adapter.

Later in the eShop I picked up all three of the Konami Anniversary Collections. I was about to pick up Skyrim for the same price but for a game that big, I'd rather have it on physical.

Great! Now if only NA got the same attention...

Sounds a lot like how the pre-order of the Switch port of Dragon Ball Fighter Z was set to come with a digital version of DBZ: Super Butoden from the SNES.

It's a time-capsule, for sure.
It's just like pop music. You can't step out of your house without hearing it over and over again somewhere, but once it hits the "classic" stations, you get a good nostalgia hit.

Man, I think I still have recorded episodes of this and "Kirby: Right Back At Ya!" on VHS somewhere. Hooray for timer-enabled VCRs!

Say what you will, but those analog-format copies have one advantage over streaming... they have the commercials from that time included.

There's a lot more to the game than catching and spinning Pokestops. This is just a handy way to automate the "grindier" aspects of the game. I know quite a few players in our local community who've used the predecessors. It can be handy to snap up a bunch of Pokemon at once during Community Day, for example.

To the comment of it failing after a few months, could it be updates on Niantic's end that are breaking certain models? Heck, one of their recent ones broke support for official PokeBall Plus last month.

As someone who hasn't been following Sword & Shield all that much, my first thought was "Zamazawhatnow?"

I mean, at least the "Super Mario Maker for Nintendo 3DS Nintendo 2DS Super Mario Maker Edition" used words that won't summon an ancient demon into our realm.

I think the problem is, unlike certain other CCGs, this one is full-price admission, whereas the others are free-to-play.

I'm a huge DragonBall fan, and card game fan... but $60....

John Halo always seemed to me like a less-interesting version of Samus, so this should be a neat experience for the modeler.

It's not like this is some kind of game that's meant to be a classic or anything. But it's good we have it preserved, nonetheless.
