Re: Nintendo Reportedly Increases Switch 2 Production To 25 Million Units For Year 1

Sirko

The only real controversy is the gamekeycards and many will just get those digital instead of skipping the games.
Could just install from a cartridge to maintain true phys if the speeds are an issue but devs like to ***** people into believing the gamekeycards are a necessary thing.
It's not. not for this many of the games.
You can compress a lot more if it doesn't have to run directly.
People had to be pointed to the screen to even realise it.
It's perfectly fine for actual usage.
I use mine almost every day.
It's faster than i expected it to be and it running switch 1 games so much better is just fantastic.

Re: Poll: How Many New Games Do You Buy In A Year?

Sirko

About 60-100 a year right now but to be fair, i didnt jump into the switch and ps5 platforms until 2023 and just caught up on the library i otherwise would have collected over time.
Considering i am caught up now, it's likely to slow down to like 3-5 games a month.

Re: Poll: Three Months In, How Would You Rate Switch 2's Library So Far?

Sirko

I'd give it a 7/10 and the console itself an 8/10.

There is a decent first party lineup but none of them are the best in their series in my opinion
I highly prefer MK 8 deluxe over MKW and Donkey Kong Bananza while good doesn't truely feel donkey kong to me. Could have put a rhino in and it would have felt like the same game.
Where it goes down is third party support (probably nintendo's fault for not giving enough dev kits on time) and especially the physical library or lack thereof.

Re: Review: Drag x Drive (Switch 2) - A Real Baller With Friends, But Is There Enough To Do?

Sirko

"Zero aesthetic personality" and "Controls will be a big hurdle for some" are the biggest issues.
It just looks so sterile. Like a techdemo instead of a full game.
It would have done a lot better if it was filled with all kinds of happy nintendo cameo's and environments.
I also don't see many people really wanting to use the controlschemes as they are now.
Maybe it will get a bit more succes if they change the above and allow for regular controls.
Hell, go nuts with it. Make monstertruck variants or something that you can unlock.
Until then i'd give it a 5/10 at best.

Re: Nintendo Won't Let Charity Speedrunning Event Use Its Games Without Permission, Because Of Course

Sirko

"as a legal entity, they would have to ask for permission in advance"
This is the important bit.
While most devs don't care as they get exposure, this was always a thing to keep in mind and known to them as a requirement at least on paper.
The goal, regardless of how noble it is, doesn't matter if you take something that isn't yours and try to make money with it.
Charity or not.

Re: Best Pokémon Spin-Off Games Of All Time

Sirko

Great seeing conquest getting the love it deserves.
Especially considering so few people seem to know about it.
The game doesn't end when you beat the campaign.
You just unlock more campaigns.

Re: Xbox Will Reportedly Announce "More Game Ports" For Other Platforms Soon

Sirko

@Wood_Stick
It is at least semi relevant though.
The gamekeycard launch games pretty much all bombed.
It's not that out of this world to think the ports have a chance of being less succesful if they go the same route with less ports in the future as a result.

Edit:
Also storage is expensive.
Less of an issue with true physical.
Gotta be realistic though.
Forza 5 and indiana jones simply wouldn't fit.

Re: Poll: So, Did You Order A Nintendo Switch 2?

Sirko

As soon as it became possible.
Unfortunately my physical copy of mario kart world is delayed a day but everything else still seems on track.
No gamekeycards though.
That's the worst of both worlds and a practice i hope dies out soon.
