There was some fun to be had in Scar/Vi. The story was the best I'd exprienced since black and white, and the exploration was rewarding. But seriously if you want good Pokemon just play rom hacks/fan games. I just started playing them recently and they are so freaking good. For so long I thought I was going off pokemon, but it's not the case, I'm going off Gamefreak's pokemon.
Edit:
@Fizza
Ha didn't see your comment before I made mine, that proves your point lol
@EarthboundBenjy Dangnabbit! I have just done a thing, something about mail and the letter E? Must be some newfangled thing the cool kids do these days.
Meh I was just trying to be nice. I know it might not be Nintendo's biggest IP but I know it's very important to a lot of people and I wanted people to enjoy it is all.
I played Chef life: a resturant simulator recently and instantly traded in in. I couldn't even do the tutorial of a cooking game, let alone cook IRL. Thank god my SO is the chef and I'm the cleaner in our relationship xD
I made a thread similar to this recently where I ordered brand new games and they came unsealed. To be fair mine had the games in, but who's to say that someone didn't buy the game, download it onto their pc somehow (is that possible please let me know) and then send it back.
@BlublacMH Nothing would make me happier than you being right here, and everyone with a large digtal libary would agree. I just can't see Nintendo being that smart/generous.
I'm really not in a rush for a new console despite being aware of its shortcomings. My backlog is crippling without having to juggle another system.
All this talk about backwards compatibility, that would be lovely but I'm expecting just Switch cartridges to work on it. Making it account bound would be a terrible business decision as much as I would love it.
Just imagine how many of us would double dip on our favourite digital games. They would lose so much money if we could download them all from our account day one. Still, I can dream.
I'm playing * Knights* (super fun rouge-lite) as well as Pokemon Blue Kaizo (difficulty rom hack for Pokemon Blue) I'm in Erika's gym and of course her gym trainers are packing Blastoise and Gyarados to ruin my day. I'm having so much fun with this game, honestly I thought it would have me beat by now, maybe I underestimated myelf.
@Scooby-Doo If you think about it, athletes are more aware of the fact they gonna stank and overcomponsate their hygeine because of it. I go for a walk nearly every day and whenever joggers pass me they always smell great. That doesn't make me sound weird right? right?
And thankyou not that I can take credit for making it
@Switch_Pro You might be on to something there. It's not a bad game but I was left saying really? What was all the fuss about, am I missing something? I felt the same about Night In The Woods as well.
I will never forget my Victini that I went to Gamestation to get with my friend at the time. I never use legendaries, but I did then, he was just so good! That type matchup, the cuteness, mwah!
Catching legendaries/obtaining mythicals is such a chore these days, all the magic has been lost. I miss these times, the part about where you got some trading cards and ate out just sounds like a perfect day, even now!
@Ooyah
I feel the same way about QTE's I would prefer it if they weren't there because I have the reaction times of a slug, but all I can say is it's very forgiving, you can retry over and over. Only thing you might struggle with is the 'combat' for lack of a better word but if you are dumb like me and get stuck refering to a walkthrough for the bit you are on will alleviate the stress of it as you know what you need to do next, it's hard to describe but you would get what I mean if you played it.
I personally think the QTE's shouldn't put you off because it's great, but I understand that the game is very polarising some people love it and some don't so watch a few reviews and maybe wait for a sale.
After loving Rain Code I decided to jump into the Danganronpa series starting from the first one, I quite like it so far.
Still continuing with my Poke-hack playthroughs I started Pokémon Eruption last night, it's refreshing that the maps and story are completely different. I have high hopes for it!
@Ooyah Ooh it must be good if you've jumped straight back in! I'm definitely looking forward to getting around to it, I'm glad it's really clicked for you, hopefully I will feel the same too!
Well the aforementioned Raincode is my favourite game this year, so I find that it's refreshing to see people have different tastes. As good as TOTK is, it gets boring if we all have the same opinion haha.
Gotta be Raven or Pia for me based on the trailer alone. I'd be scared the unicorn chick would poke my eye out during smooches despite liking them (magical horsies) normally xD
My partner is away when this game comes out, and we are never apart so I'm looking forward to cheating on him with fictional women during this lonely time.
@epicgamner Take it with a grain of salt because it's an unpopular opinion of mine. Short Hike was nice but I don't think it's the masterpiece everyone seems to think it is. But Lil gator gave me the feeling I think Short Hike was trying to do.
@epicgamner I loved Li'l gator game as well it was so fun (so much better than a short hike IMO) You seem to have some good games in the backlog there!
I am not a Nintendo apologist; we should be allowed to emulate old games that they do not give us a way to access anymore, and therefore won't lose them any money, heck it's not exactly the same thing but I bought a multi DS cartridge with lots of different games on it because of the atrocious price of old Pokemon games.
But just maybe if we didn't constantly prove to Nintendo that we can't be trusted (every single new release they make gets dumped online before release) they would be a bit more relaxed about it. I don't follow other consoles, but do other companies games' get leaked this often?
I bought this game not because of the review (no offense, the review is great ) but how rampant the fans were on the other post NL did about it, I trust them and it's at impulse buy pricing, nothing to lose really.
@Ryne-Gaia Oh yeah that too of course. Not sure why I omitted that part, death gods should have no shame in indulging in Australian cartoon dogs after all!
@epicgamner It was just pure joy to play, a little on the short side but it invoked that rare childlike glee in me so I hope it can do the same for you.
Oh I know what you mean, my wallet has been a victim of many a sale poor thing.
@epicgamner Maybe one day they will do something that gets my attention. I'm late to a lot of things, I only played a Kirby last year (even though the game didn't make me a fan, I tried it at least)
I'm glad you're enjoying it though, it's a great time to hop on board! I guess the game feel is hard to get across in trailers. Funny enough I really enjoyed Tinykin though (Pikmin inspired platformer)
I was just seeing the other day how much Pokemon pinball RS is these days so I guess that's my answer. (I saw it for £30 incase anyone wanted to know that lol)
I wanna say Nintendogs, but I'm not a tween anymore, I doubt it would hit the same as it used to.
@Stamina_Wheel
I will admit impulse buying games is a fatal flaw of mine, and I've never once wanted to try it, really couldn't tell you a reason why. Hope you enjoy it though! This is a series that needs new people on board of the small(er) yet passionate fanbase, and the Switch is the place to do it.
#fakeNintendofan here because I never had any interest in Pikmin, and I have to say, that still hasn't changed. Really happy for those who have been waiting years for this though, and I hope it lives up to your expectations!
@MisanthropyAGoGo Awesome I just grabbed it myself ^-^ Yeah there are random influxes every so often, I haven't played too many of them (backlog shame) but I pick up most of them if I can when they drop cause I find they are perfect on-the-side games!
@dew12333 Any less than 8 hours and I could land a part in the walking dead, I don't know how people like you do it xD My partner is the same as you, you people baffle me!
So what if you erm... share a bed with another human? guessing the results wouldn't be accurate then?
@Anti-Matter Well maybe the team will want to take care of the IP and churn a good game out of it. For adult fans though these games are usually short, simple and not worth picking up. I know we aren't the target audience, but still.
@JohnnyMind
Thanks! I admittedly didn't watch the trailer because I will give anything a go as long as it's not a roguelike and I can carry stuff along when I inevitably die xD
@MisanthropyAGoGo
Nah it's the opposite, as long as its a rogue-lite I'm in xD
It sounds fantastic I will definitely grab it after hearing that, so thankyou!
Since you've played that many, what is your opinion of Ember Knights if you've played that one? it just came out and was thinking of grabbing it tommorow.
Absolutely love the game, would insta-buy a sequel, I'm not long into chapter 4.
The way that the title is with the colon I just assumed it would be a series, think Master Detective Archives: insert new title here
I would improve it by characters not hammering home the same thing/sentence all the time, especially Shinigami as much as she is gorgeous and funny, she does get annoying sometimes. And overall just a teeny bit less tropey? I know it comes with the territory but I would love more nuanced characters.

I hope tears outdoes BOTW in its lifetime because it's better in every way, but I worry for it unless they release it on the new system when it comes.
Re: Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom Sells More Than 18 Million Copies In Two Months
It deserves it. I need to pick it back up again, I still haven't finished it. I'm saving it for when me and my partner will be away dog sitting soon.

I hope they lose the open world of Ryza 3, I dropped that game really fast despite loving the other two.

Re: Rumour: Nintendo Is Targeting A 2024 Release For The Switch Successor
@deadmaker
I buy physical where possible just for resell purposes, but like you my digital backlog is sitting at 800+ (shame)
So I would never dream of selling my Switch but I know I won't be able to stop myself from buying the successor as well.
You and me both buddy.

You leave my boy Ryuji out of it! He deserves a candle just as much as anyone else!

I would actually buy these but I have indoor kitties who have free roam of the flat so it's kinda out of the question.
