Re: Video: Not Everyone Is Pleased With Nintendo Labo

@Balladeer Agree that opinions are there to be challenged, but when one point of view has the means and the audience to pull off a video such as this, it comes off as smug. Now, if there was a counterpoint video also...I wouldn't have a leg to stand on.

Nothing much for 2018. I should wait for the direct. The direct was disappointing. Oh, it was only a mini direct. The proper direct will come in March. Oh, no? Silly me, the games will be announced at E3. Ah, disappointing E3. Why can't I remember that Nintendo announces their games in directs....and the cycle continues.

Edit: Forgot evolved version of mini-direct

Unless it's a new Smash game, not interested. Had enough of these Wii U Ports. Same for virtual console and over-priced indies. Would be great to see Nintendo get some quality third party support and maybe an exclusive or so. Also, continue developing new IPs with a nod to their back catalogue of characters. Lots of people have just joined the Switch community...seeing ports of years old games on wishlists may be a little disheartening.

£14.19 retail on PS4 through Amazon UK. This is an absolute joke and another shafting of the Switch community. Said this about other recent third parties as well. It does not cost the same to port a game as it does to make it! Stockholm Syndrome of the highest order.

Re: Review: Gear.Club Unlimited (Switch)

Shellcore

Spent some of my evening watching let's plays and various impressions videos for this last night. The general impression is that it is an average mobile port, with some of the more try-hard switch channels giving it more positive vibes due to the "nothing like it on the Switch" argument. It looks awful, the arcade controls are a cop-out (arcade controls are still refined. Look at Driveclub) and the races are really short. Distinctly average, which is what a 5 should be. The cheerleaders will say otherwise, but this game is an embarrassment and shouldn't be given a second look at this price. Price should absolutely be part of the review as it is for every other type of consumer goods. When you can buy other ports like Doom and Skyrim (at a still admittedly high price) for the same money, can anyone say with a straight face that this provides the same value for money? Disgusting. Rant over.

Edit: Oh yeah - No online multiplayer (just ghosts) and 30fps with dips (in a racing game!!)

@Littleeddie Nords have attributes that protect them from cold, high strength and are suited for melee combat which is a little easier going than going full archery/magic. This is just my opinion. Other people may suggest otherwise. I went all archery my first playthrough and was fine until I was battling the stronger dragons. Wished I was more proficient with a good old axe by that point.
