Re: Nintendo Switch and Splatoon 2 Led US Retail Sales in July

Shellcore

@AG_Awesome I imagine that is total. Whilst this is a brilliant result for Nintendo, you have to take into account the choice of games available. Sony et al have many games to choose from so sales are diluted across the titles. Switch gamers, however, are funnelled towards the big release of the month.

Re: Poll: 99 Games and Counting - Are You Pleased With the Switch eShop Library?

Shellcore

It is good to see the eshop get so many games. It's not good that they are tied to the console and will be lost if your console bricks. Look forward to buying them all again next time!

Edit: I have since been proved wrong. You can play your games on a different Switch as long as it is your "active" switch. You have to deactivate the original Switch first via the eshop. If this isn't possible (broken/sold), then you will need to contact Nintendo support.

Re: Talking Point: Capcom, the Nintendo Switch and Gaming Business Realities

Shellcore

A lot of salt on this topic. Capcom wants to make money. It is a business. It wants to bring its franchises to a wider audience and make use of modern tech. Switch is underpowered. PS4/XBOXOne have a larger userbase and similar architecture. It just makes sense. The Switch hasn't been out long. Surely most of you own one of the consoles MHW will be released on. Capcom has merely shown good business sense (they hope). Why don't we, as consumers, buy what we want and not start this campaign against a company though some ill-founded brand allegiance. It's just weird.

@TeslaChippie Wow. Hope you don't speak to people like that face to face. I gave my feedback in an honest manner. It is hard to be a Nintendo only website, because there isn't much to write about. The information is split to increase content, clicks and ad revenue. I get it, but it makes the website look amateur and may lead people to go and search out more diverse content elsewhere. Please don't respond until you learn how to talk like an adult without resulting to personal attacks.

Re: Oddworld Creator Lorne Lanning "Has No Faith" In Switch

@kuliddar Why not use the name of a businessman he respected trying to reverse the fortunes of Nintendo? He was holding up Iwata in a positive light as a proponent of positive change. I don't understand why he shouldn't complement someone just because they passed away. This whole business celebrity stuff needs to go. It drives people to regard the money men as idols and takes away from the product.

Re: Oddworld Creator Lorne Lanning "Has No Faith" In Switch

@Tarolusa My days. He didn't refer to Iwata's death at all. He was saying it WAS killing him (figuratively speaking) that he could shift Nintendo's thinking. It like saying "After that run, my feet are killing me". It's a turn of phrase. We have all said it at some point.

"Personally, I think it killed Iwata; that he couldn't move the organisation into a really successful arena."

Some of you lot are just getting touchy for no reason. The guy is complimenting Iwata. He is saying Iwata wanted to move the organisation on, but he couldn't. It was metaphorically killing him. Just like it's killing me that some of you can't understand a basic expression. Aside from that, the guy from a fantastic developer pointing out how Nintendo could improve, so you lot can get more games. What's not to like?
