@Yosher You don't have to destoy everything (though it is a lot of fun), limit that and the normal gameplay absolutely is still awesome.
I actually focused more on platforming in the game. And finished it in about 30 hours. And ofcourse that's not 100% and I still have the DLC as well. But I loved every minute of it.
@Ogbert True, we've seen many Lego castles already. And I think they will either release one when a new Zelda game releases or when something else happens.
@kkslider5552000 Capcom often puts their entire library on sale, so that's nothing new. Where Nintendo's games keep their value. With Capcom, just wait 3-6 months for a 30-50% discount.
People really went wild on a 20 seconds trailer. It's just laughable bad (these reactions, not the game). This is the state of the Nintendo "fandom" anno 2025.
"Oh no, it's Samus on a motor" yeah between two area's.
"Oh no, it's an empty desert." compared to all those deserts on alien worlds that are full of people. smh. Or even deserts on our own planet, those are also full of people.. right? right? smh x2.
"It looks bad!" No, it didn't. It's a compressed YT stream of a short trailer. Those never look like the real game.
"It's not Metroidvania", yes something you can tell from a 20 seconds trailer. smh.
Nintendo can never win with these peoople. If they don't change anything, people will say the game has gotten stale and boring. If they change anything at all (like introducing a new mechanic etc) people say it's breaking the genre or the series. And also so extremely quick to condemn these new features even without having one second of actual gameplay with it.
@roy130390 "From what I've seen, the worst enemies of the Metroid franchise are the fans."
Basically any Nintendo based franchise these days, same issue.
And honestly every single metroid game has some way to travel between area's. In this game it's a bike. This is absolutely nothing new. Also I think it looks awesome.
Sonic race games have been meh at best for me.. none have gotten more than a 6/10 from me. I doubt that will change.
And even before launch, dlc (including exlcusive pre-order dlc) and even a season pass have been announced. Whenever Nintendo does something like that they get a 200+ list of angry comments on this site.
@Denoloco That 4K GPU.. how much did it cost? Becuase going from 1080p -> 4K on PC is FAR from $0.
Also increasing render resolution doesn't always improve the game. Often you are going to need 4K textures as well. Which do exist for some games. But most of them you still have to pay for an upgrade. Especially on older games. Most games from < 2010 look terrible in 4K.
@Kingy No, you keep making baseless claims. But sure, you aren't going to give any actual proof of your claims, like I knew before I first replied to you, so this discussion is fruitless.
@Kingy I wasn't talking about the price. I was talking about the fact that you said that it was cut content. Which you have been dodging ever since. So no, your baseless assertion isn't better than mine.
@Kingy I am not alleging that they removed content. I cannot proof that they didn't remove content. But I know how games are developed and I know what is in the base game. On which I based my point.
Your point has no base.
Did they start Development of the DLC before the Game was released? More than likely.
Did they start Development of the DLC before they finished Development of the base game? I doubt that, because that would be noticable in the base game (as in clearly missing content).
Development of most Nintendo games are finished roughly 8-10 months before release. So with a DLC after 2 months after release you'll get a development time of 10-12 months. Which is absolutely enough.
@Kingy Only for the claim that it's cut content. As in meant to be in the game. There is no source for that. That they started development before release is quite common, also "development" of the base game could've been finished months before the actual release. So enough time to create DLC.
So the only proof I want is that it's cut content.
@Kingy You have any sources / proof for your alligation?
For me: I can play the entire game from start to finish without the DLC content. It also has some great post-game content as well. Donkey Kong Island was never named anywhere within the original game, neither was the DLC added subquest. The DLC subquest also is not a part of the game or post game. So everything is additive. So no, the DLC is not "cut content". It's either ideas the dev team had but couldn't fit within the original game or new ideas after release.
Only point could be the amount of content in the DLC, but I haven't finished it yet (the DLC) and when I do I will evaluate this. For now I think the price is okay for the amount of content offered. I've seen more expensive DLC with less content.
@Araquanid Home is and was originally designed to allow you to easily move old Pokémon to newer games. That you can transfer backwards in some of them is not it's main feature.
@Dom_31 Pokémon home is not created by GameFreak but by Ilca.
@JimmyFleck The desert is barren. So.. like a desert.
Also this doesn't look open world to me, but the bike being the transportation method between area's in the game. Which is actually quite common in these style of games. It doesn't feel like you can go everywhere and do anything like in an open world game.
@Misima Do you really think Nintendo reads Nintendolife comments sections? If you want to complain, you can contact Nintendo directly.
I bought the DLC, because I loved the base game - which I already have completed - and adding DK Island is awesome. It's not something that "should've been in the base game" or is "cut to be made dlc". It's something extra for fans of DK.
And to everyone complaining about the price: nobody is forcing you to buy it. If you can't handle the FOMO, that's YOUR problem. If you rather buy something else, then do so.
And here we go again, complaining about inflation time price. Two awesome games for €40 each (or 35 when buying the bundle). That's nothing to be angry about.
Trademarks need actively be renewed otherwise you could lose them. Sure that's not really an issue for an old game, but Nintendo MIGHT someday want to make a new game in these series.
Genki tried to get early revenue from the Switch 2 by being early with their announcment. It's a terrible tactic that ultimately hurt Nintendo's reveal. So yeah, this outcome is absolutely the correct one.
Revealing secret information is just not done, NDA or not.
@Sebazy Piracy is not, never was nor ever will be game preservation. Piracy is illegal, theft and people who do it belong in jail. That is my very simple and clear stance on it.
Also I am not defending anyone. I am just writing down my opinion, which aligns with the law.
This is very good. Pirates who sell their stuff are enterly to blame for los game sales. And should be punished. I am very happy with the outcome of this lawsuit.
For me the best game on Switch 2 is currently Donkey Kong Bananza, and that - to me - is currently the Game of the Year. With MarioKart World being 2nd place.
3. The Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild (S2E)
4. Kirby and the Forgotten land + Star Crossed world (S2E)

6. Deltarune (S2E)
7. Silksong (S2E)
8. Welcome Tour
9. Nintendo GameCube NSO
10. Dear me, I was. (nice visuals, but really boring)
A game has to report as "Switch 2 software" on the home screen to be eligible to be on this list. And ofcourse I need to have played it on my Switch 2.
@Yel333 And that's where you are incorrect. A lot of people don't play free to play games exactly because of the reason I mentioned. So a free to play game might be free, but it has no effect on the precieved price of a paid for game.
@Yel333 Actually, they don't. No game is truly free. Or it's a very old game or a hobby project. F2P games either collect and sell your data (money for developer) and/or have direct sales of ingame goods.
This is also why XBOX and PS5 games always require a full installation of the game on internal storage. Sure they could also have just put the game as an installation on the cartridge, but the Switch 2 really doesn't offer that option.
The real difference is here that on PS5/XBOX the game can be installed offline, where on Switch 2 you need an internet connection. (or the game just runs off of the GameCard)
Game is decent, but honestly not that good the hype makes it up to be. Gameplay is fluid and it's a metroidvenia, but honestly that's been done a lot of times before.
I was able to download it without issue on gamepass. Game is a decent enough platformer. Don't see what all the hype is about, though yet. Will play more later on

Re: Rumour: New Zelda LEGO Set Rumour Links It To Fan Favourite Entry
@PinderSchloss 1003 pieces.. somewhere between 90 and 120 dollar. Most likely in the higher range, because it's a licensed product.

Re: Do Bananza And Odyssey Share The Same Pauline? Donkey Kong Dev Won't Confirm Anything
Well since I've finished DKB, I can clearly say..
That she would be the younger version of the Super Mario Odyssey Pauline, the game ends in New Donk City afterall.
Re: Nintendo Adds One Of The Most Divisive Zelda Entries To 'Nintendo Music'
@Whirlwound Reading the title, I had the same idea. Would be awesome though.
Re: Video: EA Sports FC 26 Disappoints At 30fps On Switch 2
It's EA, ofcourse it's going to dissapoint. And do so for a lot of money.
Re: Another Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds Collab Appears To Have Been Revealed
Day ONE DLC AND a Season Pass. And nobody is complaining? Oh yeah, it's not a Nintendo title.
Re: Opinion: I Can't Believe I'm Finally Getting My Dream Pokémon Game In 2026
This game looks like a lot of fun, but honestly I am waiting more for Z-A than this. Still I will get both, ofcourse.
Re: Nintendo Expands Switch Online's GBA Library With Two More Titles
@Coffee-Waffle With one 64GB card you can have the entire NES, SNES, GB, GBC and GBA collection. But licensing that would be beyond impossible.
Re: Review: Donkey Kong Bananza: DK Island & Emerald Rush (Switch 2) - DLC That's Ripe With Fun, But Could've Been More
This is why I absolutely hate price complains, since it affects precieved quality of games and DLC. I am loving this DLC and it's at least a 8.5/10.
Re: Opinion: Metroid Prime 4 Reminds Me Of Gears 5, And It's Making Me Nervous

1. Kirby Air Riders + amiibo
2. Super Mario Wonder S2E
3. Mario Tennis Fever
4. Pokémon Legends Z-A + DLC
5. Pokémon Pokopia
6. DKB DLC (already)
7. Fire Emblem
8. Metroid Prime 4
9. Super Mario Galaxy 1+2
10. Resident Evil 9
11. Fatal Frame 2 remake
12. Monster Hunter Stories 3
And maybe some other games as well. This is only the "for sure" list.
Not: any of the warriors-style games. I never got that into them. And also not FC26, I am not a big football player.

I am ofcourse going to buy it. I do also still have the 3D collection, but that lacks SMG2 and doesn't have higher resolution on Switch 2.
I will be getting the download version ofcourse.
