A Pokémon spin-off on Wii U with Amiibo support would make people go wild. I'm thinking something like Mystery Dungeon and of course they're not going to make 700 plus Pokémon figurines but they could swim in cash with just a dozen or so.
Also a Nintendo Land sequel with RPG-like progression and Amiibo storage would be great.
@ikki5 Portugal went bankrupt in 2011 and I still could afford a Wii U. It's not like a bankrupcy means your bank accounts are reset to zero and the middle, upper classes vanish into thin air, you know. Countries are eternal in nature and go bankrupt all the time; you go bankrupt, you make a deal with the international creditors, you cut budgets and endure austerity for a while, and then you're back out of the woods.
Any word about this coming to Portugal too? Since 2009, both countries share the same Nintendo management and distribution teams, so I'd expect it to be likely to hit our shelves as well.
Not as good as the Wii one but quite nice. Looks like what Wario Land could be if they made it on the DS hardware. They should release the VB Wario Land as a 3D Classic on 3DS, I want a chance to play that game at last. And make a new 1080p 2D hand-drawn Wario Land for Wii U.
I love Sin and Punishment, so I want this to try this too. I understand why they're not releasing on Wii as originally planned, but they should make more efforts on porting this to the Wii U with the jump to hd graphics. Graphics-wise it looks like a Wii game and not even one of most impressive ones.
It's crap like this that makes me think Nintendo has made the eShop development far too accessible. We don't want a cesspool marketplace like the smartphones have on a console.
@NbaJunkie I have Wind Waker HD, never played it on GameCube, but there is no way I would play it without my GamePad now. Inventory, Navigation (I would seriously get lost at sea, it not for it), the wind waker songs memo, aiming with the gyro, tingle bottles and the PictoBox camera... everything is made so much better with the second screen. I don't end up using off-TV because of this. No Pro Controller for this one, thanks. For a remade game, not built from the start with the GamePad, I'd say they did a terrific job.
This is very disappointing. If anyone would like to see a stealth action game with hacking elements done properly on the gamepad, check out Deus Ex: Human Revolution. Unlike Ubisoft, they really went the extra mile.
This is probably Nintendo's way of keeping healthy relationships with retailers. Remember retailers are key to push your product to the masses, you wouldn't want them pissed with your company. But, yeah, this sucks.
I'll give it a B+ considering the fun me, my family and friends have been having with it. In the end, that's all that matters, isn't it? Sales are terrible, but why should that stop me from enjoying my console?
Wii U has the exclusives and I buy consoles for the exclusives, not the multiplats. Currently I have no interest in the other consoles, they are put bluntly overpriced PC's. I will get a much better PC shortly mainly for my work tasks but also to play a bit, and at much better value. There, I'll have my 3rd party fix soon along with the best 1st party games in the world.
@Specter_Twilight It's also our prerogative as consumers to not buy their product when we see so little effort and value put into it. The ideal was to add value to their game so it would feel like a solid purchase for the consumers at this point in time. Devalueing the price tag would be another acceptable solution. When Ubisoft has not bothered to do neither, they end up releasing a game in November 2014 that's just not competitive enough in the current Wii U scene. I don't think I'm alone in thinking this way. Good thing we won't have to wait too long for some nosedive price drop.
Mute City is so great, it only makes me more angry at Nintendo for not making a true F-Zero game in over a decade. Dragon Driftway is the best original track, though.
This is on my Top 3 Mario Kart games, for sure. I got aquainted with Mario Kart on the N64, but I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw this amazing 3D game running on a Game Boy. It's the game that sold me the GBA (ok, alongside F-Zero and Metroid Fusion!). And Cheese Land is amazing, I would love a Mario Kart 8 remake of it.
Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed was well received enough, in spite of being on the Mario Kart system! Rayman Legends sold well in spite of being in the NSMB system! This is ridiculous, 3rd parties are a bunch of whinners now.
I'm keen on the Fusion hybrid idea. I think Nintendo will switch to ARM 64 on their next hardware and try to court the smart devices developers who are familiar with that architecture. And there's plenty of bang on ARM these days to achieve great HD gaming performance as well as portable experiences.
And I absolutely agree that they should have a €350 or so ceiling on their hardware. A over-the-top x86-64 machine for €500 wouldn't be right for Nintendo's usual consumers.
Regarding Virtual Console, the DS must be their top priority. I mean we have Dr.Kawashima as a free DS sample for months already, when do they plan to sell the actual games? Other than that, Splatoon would make me very happy to hear about, particularly as I expect a May 2015 release for it.
@unrandomsam If and that's only if this ends up getting a console port. I sure would like it to, because developing a brand new Luigi's Mansion just for the japanese arcade scene is a waste and believe it or not, the Wii U could use more exclusive games.
This is Luigi's Mansion a spin-off of the Super Mario series we are talking about, not some niche Japanese game. Everyone around the globe should have the chance to play it. So it really should not stay a Japan arcade only affair.
What I think is that developing games for arcades only is a gross waste of Nintendo's time and resources. Arcades are dead outside of Japan. Bring me Luigi's Mansion to the Wii U.
@shigulicious We're on the same boat, then. I love Smash but it's kind of a given on a Nintendo console. Been there, done that. Bayonetta 2 is something way more special to get on a Nintendo system, it isn't the type of game Nintendo makes, so I really look forward to it.
Lol, I remember watching Street Fighter 2010 on the AGVN. To put it short, it has NOTHING to do with Street Fighter, and it's unforgivably hard. Hard as in stupid game design choices.
I only got to play it for the first time this year on Wii U but loved every bit of it. Almost reduced to tears when the end credits rolled... Say "Fuzzy Pickles"!

Probably still my favourite console of all time. N64 was the real 3D revolution.

Re: Teslagrad to Arrive at Retail on Wii U in Early 2015
I support the physical format, so I'm tempted. And it's more storage space left for me. Make a compelling price for it and I'll get it.

I voted for the Super FX Pack because it's the most feasible of these.

random generated tracks would be great. Wonder if the the F-Zero track is random too. N64's X Cup was neat.

@Nintenjoe64 It's going to be either Mute City or Big Blue. You can bet on it!
Re: Talking Point: Mario Kart 8's Diverse DLC Sets Up Endless Potential for the Franchise
I will buy both packs but I don't agree with the inclusion of non-Mario characters in Mario Kart. It opens up the wrong precedent imo.
Re: Talking Point: Mario Kart 8's Diverse DLC Sets Up Endless Potential for the Franchise
@Phantom_R Maybe because the whole Mario franchise stems from Donkey Kong? The same does not apply to Zelda and Animal Crossing...

@MrWalkieTalkie To me it's a nightmare. Mario Kart is losing its identity.
