Re: Talking Point: What's Next For amiibo?

Samurai_Goroh

A Pokémon spin-off on Wii U with Amiibo support would make people go wild. I'm thinking something like Mystery Dungeon and of course they're not going to make 700 plus Pokémon figurines but they could swim in cash with just a dozen or so.

Also a Nintendo Land sequel with RPG-like progression and Amiibo storage would be great.

@ikki5 Portugal went bankrupt in 2011 and I still could afford a Wii U. It's not like a bankrupcy means your bank accounts are reset to zero and the middle, upper classes vanish into thin air, you know. Countries are eternal in nature and go bankrupt all the time; you go bankrupt, you make a deal with the international creditors, you cut budgets and endure austerity for a while, and then you're back out of the woods.

I love Sin and Punishment, so I want this to try this too. I understand why they're not releasing on Wii as originally planned, but they should make more efforts on porting this to the Wii U with the jump to hd graphics. Graphics-wise it looks like a Wii game and not even one of most impressive ones.

Re: Review: Xavier (Wii U eShop)

It's crap like this that makes me think Nintendo has made the eShop development far too accessible. We don't want a cesspool marketplace like the smartphones have on a console.

Re: Video: How Does Watch Dogs Use The Wii U GamePad?

Samurai_Goroh

@NbaJunkie I have Wind Waker HD, never played it on GameCube, but there is no way I would play it without my GamePad now. Inventory, Navigation (I would seriously get lost at sea, it not for it), the wind waker songs memo, aiming with the gyro, tingle bottles and the PictoBox camera... everything is made so much better with the second screen. I don't end up using off-TV because of this. No Pro Controller for this one, thanks. For a remade game, not built from the start with the GamePad, I'd say they did a terrific job.

@Specter_Twilight It's also our prerogative as consumers to not buy their product when we see so little effort and value put into it. The ideal was to add value to their game so it would feel like a solid purchase for the consumers at this point in time. Devalueing the price tag would be another acceptable solution. When Ubisoft has not bothered to do neither, they end up releasing a game in November 2014 that's just not competitive enough in the current Wii U scene.
I don't think I'm alone in thinking this way. Good thing we won't have to wait too long for some nosedive price drop.

Re: Mario Kart: Super Circuit is Racing Onto The Wii U Virtual Console

Samurai_Goroh

This is on my Top 3 Mario Kart games, for sure. I got aquainted with Mario Kart on the N64, but I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw this amazing 3D game running on a Game Boy. It's the game that sold me the GBA (ok, alongside F-Zero and Metroid Fusion!). And Cheese Land is amazing, I would love a Mario Kart 8 remake of it.

Re: Genyo Takeda Discusses Nintendo's Hardware Future

Samurai_Goroh

I'm keen on the Fusion hybrid idea. I think Nintendo will switch to ARM 64 on their next hardware and try to court the smart devices developers who are familiar with that architecture. And there's plenty of bang on ARM these days to achieve great HD gaming performance as well as portable experiences.
And I absolutely agree that they should have a €350 or so ceiling on their hardware. A over-the-top x86-64 machine for €500 wouldn't be right for Nintendo's usual consumers.

Re: New Nintendo Direct Airing 5th November

Samurai_Goroh

Regarding Virtual Console, the DS must be their top priority. I mean we have Dr.Kawashima as a free DS sample for months already, when do they plan to sell the actual games?
Other than that, Splatoon would make me very happy to hear about, particularly as I expect a May 2015 release for it.

Re: Luigi's Mansion Arcade May Potentially Be a Thing in Japan

Samurai_Goroh

@unrandomsam If and that's only if this ends up getting a console port. I sure would like it to, because developing a brand new Luigi's Mansion just for the japanese arcade scene is a waste and believe it or not, the Wii U could use more exclusive games.

This is Luigi's Mansion a spin-off of the Super Mario series we are talking about, not some niche Japanese game. Everyone around the globe should have the chance to play it. So it really should not stay a Japan arcade only affair.
