@Splatom Me too, but I think we'll still get some Amiibo related update this autumn, though I'm not sure what will the Amiibo figurines do in this game exactly.
@DrSlump You don't have to use the Mercedes if you don't want to, but you can't stop other people from doing it. That's free will 101. Expect to see a lot of Mercedes on the online races. I'm going with Wario in the 300SL roadster...
@WinterWarm Mature games don't sell on the Wii U. Except that Zombi U has sold about 700,000 much more than Just Dance and Rabbids Land. But that's clearly "E for Everyone" material.
@cyrus_zuo Have you tried the GBA remake of SMB3? It just fixes the technical hindrances of the NES (more colours, no screen flickering and such). It's a pocket sized gem and the definitive version of the game. I also have the NES version on Wii U and like playing it as well, but the GBA, man...
@Boxmonkey Nope, GameCube had a 5 year life cycle, from 2001 to 2006.
Nintendo consoles have at least 5 years of support. I don't expect a new Nintendo console until at least 2017.
@AVahne Wii U is at least the best selling home console in Japan right now. If they can hold to that position, we might get some more JRPGs. I think some small Japanese devs like Atlus, Natsume and such are waiting to see if it's just not a fluke or a sustainable trend on the Japanese charts. There is still hope, I guess.
@LDXD I remember when Sony made hardware that was weaker than Nintendo's still. I remember when Sony said the PlayStation 2 graphics would be "just like jacking up to the Matrix". Yeah, right on! Even to this day, I still have a hard time convincing some friends that the GameCube was more powerful than the PS2, because they all assumed otherwise (to be fair, these arguments tend to end when I show them F-Zero GX running! xD). Sony is just better at selling illusions than Nintendo.
I remember up to last year when both Sony and Microsoft were teasing 4K games and now they can't even reach 1080p most of the time. I just chuckle, lest not drown in the seas of irony and hypocrisy.
@LDXD True, both are very underwhelming machines. No more than an average 2012 gaming PC. Next-gen is just the old-gen with a new coat of paint. I'm glad Nintendo at least tried to bring something different to the table. The GamePad is not a revolution, but it's still more significant to gameplay than a share button or rumble triggers.
@Alucard83 Nintendo charges for the Wii U the same as Sony for the PS4? Where does that happen, on Mars? Are you kidding me? The Wii U has always been cheaper than the PS4. And if the Wii U was released on the 7th generation, you would be paying over twice the magic "600 dollars" price point. The Wii U has technology leaps and bounds above what was available on 2006. So, please cut the BS.
The standard pricing should drop by €2 on all platforms. NES games at €3, SNES at €6 and GBA at €5. There, problem solved. Oh, and keep the occasional discounts.
I hope it's not Metroid. I think it's time Retro has the chance to make their own IP. They had very interesting concepts back in the GameCube that got canned in favour of Metroid Prime. The time is now.
@WaLzgi The prices are a consequence of the politics. I think people underestimate the impact of politics on our everyday lives. But all right, lets talk about games. I didn't intend to annoy or disturb you.
@WaLzgi In Europe, the tax is substantially higher. For this sort of goods, in Portugal it is 23%. In the UK its 20%, afaik.
European State and societies are very different from the US, we have more welfare. Public and universal hospitals, schools, universities, radio and television, postal service, public transportation, unemployment aid, etc. So we pay more tax to get more in return.
@Tsurii897 Pretty sure they are recognised by the software as Wii Classic Controller/Pro and Super Smash Bros. will support those. The only downfall will be no rumble.
They look great, but I'm always a bit suspicious of third party controllers. The replacement of the D-pad in particular looks like it might fix my only complaint with the GameCube controller. I assume they plug to the Wii Remote and work as a Wii classic controller? Are you guys going to make an hardware review of this? If there are no major flaws, at €19.99 I might get an Yoshi one.
@GamecubeWasBest On top of that, he was already a wolf and a rabbit, I believe. Wild animal, ok. A woman? Noooo..... Link is not a single character, he is more of an abstraction, an ensemble of heros sprung across centuries.
I wouldn't oppose to a female Link. Link is almost always a different person in each game, he's supposed to be the Hero of Time reincarnate. Why can't the hero of time reincarnate as a female? Link is a character but a very neutral character with few personality traits that make him unique. He's brave and kind and that's it. He's the archetype of the hero we want to be.
So, if they think they are entitled to the "Diesel" trademark, why don't they sue all the automakers and big oil companies in the world instead?
Just a bit of trivia and silliness,
According to Wikipedia, Rudolf Diesel patented it's diesel engine in Germany back in 1892. Little did he know he was infringing the trademark of an Italian clothing brand in the XXI century. Too bad, Rudy.
Given that I own NES Remix, I might pick one of those NES games at €2.50. Last weeks selection wasn't particularly exciting (bar Excite Bike which I already have), this week is a bit improved but still I don't know. I like puzzle games and Zelda, but have no great appreciation for the NES titles. Between Wario Woods, Punch-Out and Zelda II what should I pick?
@Jazzer94 Precisely. They didn't announce anything noteworthy for Vita at E3. That's the issue.
I wouldn't say the Vita is a good handheld. I'd say it had the potential to become one, but it's maker seems to have thrown all that goodwill out of the window by now. The PSP was a very good handheld and a strong contender to DS last generation, so it's really baffling how Sony seems to not care at all.
My cousin had a Master System I and it was the first piece of SEGA I ever played. Sonic the Hedgehog 2 on the Master System was my first Sonic game, only much later I got a chance to play the 16-bit Sonic games. Enduro Racer, Fantasy Zone, Mortal Kombat and SEGA Soccer are some of the games I remember playing with my cousin. A friend of mine had a Master System II too with Sonic the Hedhog (1) bundled with the system too. It was more popular than NES here in Portugal. We even got some games with Portuguese editions, the very rare "Portuguese purple" series that collectors now crave for.
@TheWPCTraveler You could also say that the Wii U is GameCube's grandson, because the three consoles shares the same IBM Power architecture and ATI/AMD graphics. At this point, I think the Wii U surpassing GCN 22 million remains a safe bet, and if Nintendo is really lucky maybe even N64's 33 million, but that's more wishful thinking by now.
I bought it last week and so far really liking it. Moved up to the varsity class already and there's quite a challenge there. It does look very pixelated on the matches though, play this one on the GamePad and with the smooth filter on.
I was born around the time the Super Famicom was hitting the Japanese shelves. So, it's older than me, but I played a lot of NES on my childhood, it was my first contact with gaming.
I love Minish Cap and it's art style, I would welcome a game inspired by Minish Cap, but as said above, this is not just inspired by, it's ripped off completely. Get some imagination over your designs people, or you would risk getting sued.

Re: Nintendo Download: 28th August (Europe)
Of course everyone will be "purchasing" the Mario Kart 8 DLC first. Afterwards, I might bite a new Zen Pinball 2 table.
Re: Talking Point: The Wii U May be Best as One of Two Consoles, Just Like Wii
@sub12 It's in second place, though.
Re: Talking Point: The Wii U May be Best as One of Two Consoles, Just Like Wii
I have a Wii U and will probably get a 3DS. I don't need another home console.
Re: Ubisoft Executive Talks Up Super Smash Bros. as a Wii U System Seller
@WinterWarm Mature games don't sell on the Wii U. Except that Zombi U has sold about 700,000 much more than Just Dance and Rabbids Land. But that's clearly "E for Everyone" material.
Re: Poll: Which Is The Best Super Mario Platformer?
@EarthboundBenjy What about New Super Luigi U? xD

Re: Poll: Which Is The Best Super Mario Platformer?
By the way, Wario Land isn't a Mario platformer.
Re: Poll: Which Is The Best Super Mario Platformer?
I'm voting Galaxy, but honestly you should have two polls: one for 2D and another for 3D games. I would pick Super Mario Bros. 3 as the best 2D entry.

Re: Ubisoft Executive Talks Up Super Smash Bros. as a Wii U System Seller
Actually Zombi U is one of their best-selling games on Wii U and I don't think that one was rated E for Everyone.

Re: Fifa 15 Coming to Wii and 3DS on the 26th of September
@BinaryFragger What's unusual is that the legacy system gets the game while the current one does not. EA trolling at its finest.
Re: Fifa 15 Coming to Wii and 3DS on the 26th of September
We should petition to EA to end this outrage, there is no reason for the lack of a GameCube version!
Re: Alphadia Genesis Set to Begin at the Beginning in North America
The more RPGs the merrier for me. Glad to see some companies still care the tiniest bit about Wii U.

I might get the Deadpool table. Very cool stuff.

Re: Retro Studios Ramps Up Recruitment for a Variety of Vital Roles
@Pieter With the exception of Diddy Kong, Nintendo doesn't have the rights to the whole character roster of Diddy Kong Racing anymore!
Re: Retro Studios Ramps Up Recruitment for a Variety of Vital Roles
@drewb0203 There are people in this planet who do not possess a Nintendo 3DS or 2DS system, you know?
Re: Retro Studios Ramps Up Recruitment for a Variety of Vital Roles
I hope it's not Metroid. I think it's time Retro has the chance to make their own IP. They had very interesting concepts back in the GameCube that got canned in favour of Metroid Prime. The time is now.

So they completely missed the boat on Amiibo figurines? What a wasted opportunity.

Re: Video: Ghirahim Looks Creepy and Deadly in Hyrule Warriors
@fariflux I sure hope so. We need some Minish Cap/ Four Swords representation and Vaati is cool.
Re: Yokai Watch 2 Passes Two Million Sales in Japan as Wii U Sales Increase
Wii U is rising quite nicely and PS4 is really sinking. Nope, not the twilight zone, it's the empire of the rising sun.

Re: The Letter Plummets to a New Low With eShop Discount
I wouldn't touch this with a ten foot pole even if it was free. Not worth the waste of storage on my Wii U and more importantly, not worth my time.
Re: Mario Kart 8 Update & DLC Scheduled for 27th August
@BarryDunne Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed already does that. And it's the most pointless feature in a racing game, imo.
Re: Nintendo Network Maintenance Scheduled For Just Before The Hyrule Warriors Direct
Maybe we'll get improved stability and performance. Dat stability updates...

I'm tempted to get Kid Icarus as I've never played it before.
