Re: Review: Atari Flashback Classics - This Dusty Collection Sadly Opts For Quantity Over Quality

Watched Soylent Green last night and one major scene included Compter Space in it's original curved white cabinet (the same as the Pong cabinets which were yellow). It had a main character and cool as Charlton Heston (Charlton Heston!) fawning over the game. Makes me realise we shouldn't dismiss such collections out of hand as they become important archival tools in the history of videogames. It's kinda like cinema and the resurgence of silent films on blu ray. Without such products 'crappy' titles can be lost. And while some may be 'crappy' they can often provide an ancestry on particular themes, genres and even specific games. I mean, how cool would it be to play Oregon Trail and drawing a line from that game to the likes of Red Dead, Skyrim, and Breath of the Wild? The fact that they added TATE and touchscreen also shows some thought and ingenuity went into making the game especially suited to Switch. Oh, and Soylent Green - Compter Space. First time an electronic arcade cabinet appeared on film? Possibly. Check out the movie anyways, it's beyond ace.

Managed to pick up the Smash LE with controller and adapter for £75 from Argos. Their internet showed a restock Saturday night by Sunday afternoon gone. Was no buses Sunday so was an hours walk to Argos (and an hour back). Worth it though.

Didn't know about about ToeJam and Earl so that's a nice surprise. Katamari is a good price and a deffo (quite a few games do seem overpriced). I'd be getting Atelier if I didn't already own on PS3. It's good but arguably the worst trilogy. The Iris and Dusk trilogys are far superior, though still good to see a Switch release. Vesperia's pretty awesome but have on 360. Would still be tempted if could find with a tenner knocked off.

Re: Rumour: SNK's Samurai Shodown Might Be Released On Switch In 2019

Makes sense with the Hamster ACA versions seemingly being a hit on the Switch. I've got the first 4 on Switch. BTW would't it be great if SNK released a Neo Geo Pocket compilation for the Switch. Match of the Millennium, KoF R2, Card Fighters, an excellant Sonic, 2 Metal Slugs that are arguably superior to the main series, the list goes on. They all ooze playability even by todays standards. More so in fact. The Switch screen is crying out for this...

@Dromosus Ubisoft Europe killed StarLink with the pricing, especially when compared to the US which was so much cheaper. Should have been £50 out of the gate. Now even at £ 40 people aren't buying as it's see, unfairly perhaps, as a dud. They also mishandled Crew 2, with the updated original being superior. And while innovation is to be applauded, fans of the original driving game weren't crying out for boats and planes.

£25 eshop card and will get Ikaruga (even though have on Gamecube). Then Megaman Legacy X 2. Don't have X6 and having 7/8 upgraded from PS2 will be nice. Not worth me getting Legacy X1 as got first three games on Wii U and X4 on PS3. Had similar situation with the first Legacy collection. 1 through 7 on Wii U. 8 through 10 owned but on multiple systems and no DLC so bought the second part of the original collection to have all in one place. Then still have enough to get the rather smart looking Capcom D&D collection on Wii U. Sorted.

OK. Checked Zupapa and it's a Neo Geo rarity that's mentioned something like 3 times on the whole of the internet, and eveybody hates on. So yea, basically right up my street. Will take pride of place on my Switch alongside Gururin, another FACE 'classic'. Yu never know, it could be an amazing surprise of gaming awesomeness that is Gunbarich. Fingers crossed.

The awesome PS4 two games for 70% off deals of the last few weeks have taken up most of my cash recently. I mean BOTH Underwaterrayromano games for less than 15 quid I'm not gonna pass up. Might get a couple Zaccaria tables though.

Yea, no instruction manuals!!! I know a lot of people say google them. But I use the PS4 for google, youtube in the living room. And pdf sites won't load on PS4. And yet the wii u access to such features on the VC is sublime...

On the nes games now. And while I know they're only 2 button, where are the instructions for each game? You get a general history but no instructions? For example what are the power ups in Gradius? How do you play Temco Bowl? Am I missing something cos it seems like a huge oversight?
