Super Bomberman R may well have been one of the Switch's launch titles, releasing over a year and a half ago, but that hasn't stopped Konami from showering it with updates and support ever since. Now, the game has received yet another update and there's a whole lot of stuff to explore.

First up is a brand new Castlevania-themed stage. Of course, the hype surrounding Castlevania is pretty high right now thanks to the franchise seeing some major support in the upcoming Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, and you can see this stage in action in the video above (if you can make it past the almost excruciating happiness present throughout, that is).

There are also five brand new characters being added to the game's generous roster. We (fittingly) have Alucard from Castlevania, Caesar from Star Soldier, Upa from Bio Miracle Bokutte Upa, and the two hosts of this very update – Mimi and Nyami from Pop’n Music. A new game mode, called Civilians, will also task you with guiding the cute little Balloms to your team’s base to score, while simultaneously trying to prevent your opponents from doing the same thing.

All of this content comes as part of the game's version 2.2 update - available to download right now. Make sure your game is up to date and you should find everything waiting there for you to try.

Do you still play some Super Bomberman R on Switch? Are you happy to see it receiving so much support? Let us know with a comment.
