@retro_player_22 The impressive bit is the awesome design. It's relatively easy to list the ingredients for something, but making those ingredients into a delicious and attractive meal is what takes skill!

Had it on pc, was a buggy mess on that, once i got it to run. One of the reasons i don't bother with pc gaming anymore. Interested in getting it on switch if it's under a tenner, provided it doesn't render upside down or with the click area miles away from the reticule.

Nosing on the internet I see that SetVrModeEnabled is an old part of the Android Graphics API which Switch graphics are based on. It's been renamed to setStereoModeEnabled in more recent releases. So this is probably a case of Nintendo not removing this call during the rework rather than them trying out VR.

@NewAdvent We're not all chasing a higher salary. Some of us are more concerned with finding something interesting than something lucrative (though obv I'm lucky enough that "interesting" also means "pays enough to service the mortgage"). I could get a much better paid job doing what I do for a financial services company but it doesn't interest me.
If chasing money makes you happy then great, I prefer to spend my life on stuff I enjoy.

Got to say dissapointed on all people choosing Amazon over Play asia. I don't know much about working for play asia, but I know that Amazon make a ton of cash yet treat a lot of their staff very poorly.
I don't buy from them anymore because I can't justify paying towards another massive yacht for Jeff Bezos while his employees urinate in bottles....

@WillTheLion If those devices and games weren't available in second hand game shops up and down the country then maybe. As it currently stands these emulators are not necessary to preserve these games at all.

@tobibra I just like people to think about things and appreciate other people's point of view. The story in this game is tired, it's doax but with the girls given even less agency.
Why not just have the girls in a fighting tournament? There's no need for the creepy perv story line.

Except the are no games like that and that's the problem. It does require you to think a little to understand the issue, and have empathy with people who are different from you.

Was bought some bluetooth drumming wrist bands for xmas last year, the idea being that you waved your arms and drums played. The thing is, when you play the drums you hit things, when you drum in space you don't.
This game looks great and I'd love to give it a go but I can't help feeling it'll be hamstrung by this.

@Zuljaras PlayStation is historically the king of Shovelware, ever since PS1. It's because they have the most successful console platform.
Look at the games on the Google Play store. Nintendo are not the King of Shovelware.

So far it's been Voez, Yonder and Golf Story. I've just picked up a secondhand copy of Xenoblade Chronicles 2 though so that'll get a good shot tomorrow.

@Steel76 trick us? It's not a trick, it's a different monetisation model. If you don't like that then fair shout, I'm not keen on it, but to declare it a trick is to make out that you're not in control of your own spending. That's your problem, not theirs.

I have a pc connected to my tv for browsing/streaming, have you thought about getting a raspberry pi for this? Relatively cheap way of getting a genuine desktop browser running on tv.

@Abes3 Because it's a massive attack suface. With a browser the Switch can connect to any site in the world. Virtually all web sites also now require JavaScript to run, this site wants to run scripts from 12 domains. At the moment the Switch connects to Nintendo servers only.
More to the point Nintendo are a business. The inclusion of a browser doesn't make them any money. How many Switch owners don't already have multiple other devices that have a browser?

I really like the current switch interface. I worked in mobile development for 10 years and getting a render that works on Mobile and TV is not an easy task. The example here is clearly a TV gui and as many have said just wouldn't work in hand held mode.
The 3DS' abilities to resize the icons and add folders would be good on Switch but apart from that the gui just needs to get out of the way and let me play games!!!

There's a pub near where I work that has an N64 set up on a big screen with 4 controllers and a copy of Mario Kart 64. Takes a while to get used to the refresh rate with 4 players but still a lot of fun!

@Anti-Matter I wanted to see my coins total yesterday on Switch. Only way I found was click the "purchase now" link on a game, the next screen shows you your coin total and asks you if you want to use them....
I expect there's a better way than that but it worked for me!

Nintendo would be better off it they weren't a limited company. The only negative for them atm is the share price. They should't care, they make a profit on every hardware unit sold and they're selling as many as they can make.

@NEStalgia it's from the "battle royale" films where one hundred people are dropped on an island for a fight to the death until only one survives. Death matches are the classic timer based games where it's the player with the most kills and least deaths that wins. Quite different experiences really....

It is what it is. You're not buying a game, you're contributing capital to a development project. Make your decision based on that and there's nothing unreasonable about having this as a stretch goal.

American software patents are handed out like sweets afaict. Is it the same for hardware? They may well have a "valid" patent, forcing Nintendo to either find prior art or pay up.
We don't all know Nintendo are going to win this. Having seen the Samsung vs Apple debacle it's clear that "being an American company" is a massive plus in these sorts of cases.

Wouldn't it be nice, just once, if the female protagonist didn't have massive breasts and the male protagonist had an unfeasibly large package? Just to spread the objectification around a little....

It's about attack surface. A web browser has a massive attack surface. If the switch had a browser it'd be open to attack from any website in the world. With a browser you could set up a little server inside your DMZ and hack the switch from home. Without one you need to compromise one of Nintendo's domains, or facebook or twitter. (OK, you could poison your DNS server to route Nintendo ips through a proxy or something, but you get my drift...)
I have many ways to access the internet, I don't need a browser on Switch. I want Nintendo to protect their IP and continue to make money. And the best games in the world, imo.

The N64 will never die in the eyes of it's fans. Come on Nintendolife, keep those fires burning. Don't abandon the N64 as quickly as Nintendo did!

The reason the e-shop is rammed with games is because of the price companies can charge on switch. Everyone wants their game on switch because they can change two or three times the price on other platforms. It's tough if you're not minted, but it's why we have the choice we do.
