Earlier this month, we shared the progress of Marcel J. de Haan's 'Snack Pack' - a fan-made portable TV that had been fully customised to play a whole host of NES, SNES, and Sega titles. Since then, more images have been shared online, showing the final result in a little more detail; as you wonderful bunch seemed to fall in love with the design last time around, we thought we'd share these, too.
First up, we have the Snack Pack's 'Nintendo World' channel, which can now play NES, SNES, Game Boy and Game Boy Advance games.
Not content with all of that Nintendo goodness, the portable machine can also play Mega Drive, Master System, & Game Gear on its 'Sega Zone' channel.
And, to really top things off, it can even stream classic cartoons and movies via Chromecast, and supports older consoles and VHS with its AV RCA input.
If you missed our previous article on how this beautiful creation was made, feel free to revisit that here. You can also check out Marcel's blog for future updates and much more information on its creation.
Do you wish that you could have one of these? Perhaps you'll go ahead and build your own? Let us know in the comments below.

That thing is really cool. Reminds me a bit of those small tube TVs some families would have in their kitchens when I was a kid.
What a curious contraption...
Wow, that's pretty awesome. Bet it costs a lot though
Yeah, I want one
I'd buy that for more than a dollar.
Impressive little gadget.
Looks interesting but not that impressive since it's basically just a CRT tube using the guts from an NES/Super NES Classic Edition Mini inside with hakchi2 install. The controller ports are also just Wii remote ports as well.
So does it take cartridges?
@retro_player_22 The impressive part (To me) is just the custom fabrication and managing to stuff everything in there successfully. Also, I know it's an old 7" CRT case, but it looks like the screen was replaced with an LCD. Overall, really neat project to me - even if it doesn't really do much interesting from an electronics/software perspective.
@retro_player_22 The impressive bit is the awesome design. It's relatively easy to list the ingredients for something, but making those ingredients into a delicious and attractive meal is what takes skill!
(And that screen looks way too square to be a CRT.)
If it has an LCD screen then what's the point? I already have my SNES Classic hooked up to an LCD, most people do.
@SethNintendo I guess, my Supaboy SFC does the job.
Looks cool and i would be tempted but i already have a raspberry pi set up for portability with a small screen and a 26800mAh powerbank and given the size it seems a little big to carry around on a trip
Aww, I thought this was cool when I thought it was a legit CRT. Enthusiasm deflated upon finding out it's an LCD
How does the power set up work? Does it charge? Any idea on voltage?
For me this is a major factor, i live on a boat and everything i use runs off 12v, i have an inverter but i dont want to use it for games if i can help it as i have more important things to use it for.
So for me power is a huge factor... I really badly want this but i need to scope it out a bit more before i purchase.
This looks like a thing of great nostalgia and much heavy clunkery. I likey.
@Crono1973. Wait, its not a glass screen? How can we play Duck Hunt or Hogan's Alley? Or Mole Patrol?
This is right up my alley! I love retro stuff.
Not something I need, but pretty awesome nonetheless.
@NEStalgia I get your point. But wouldn't it be monochrome, being from that era? I lol love the design.
@sportvater Small color CRTs were around at least in the SNES era....maybe not the NES era. They were popular for kitchen undercabinet mounts.
@NEStalgia I was talking about the telly used here. It's from 1970. And a battery would not be able to run a CRT anyway. There was colour TV in the NES era. Of course there was
@sportvater Oh, yeah a 1970 model definitely not. I just meant there were miniature CRT models of compare that were color by the era of the consoles
It's not really a NINTENDO Snack Pack if it plays Sega, now is it?
The C&D from Nintendo is in the mail...
That is awesome, I feel this is essential enough to warrant putting into production. Reminds me of an old mini TV my parents always kept in the kitchen.
I really like this little guy. I bet half the fun for this guy was just making it. Some people really enjoy doing that.
@SharkAttackU Last I heard, this was a one off project. He isn't selling it. So even Nintendo shouldn't care.
