I was never a fan of him, but I do find this decision pretty strange. All he did was record some grunts and things. It is not like they have fully voiced lines or anything.
Of course this is Playtonic's game, so they can do as they choose. I could understand their reasoning. They are a new studio (well a new studio staffed by veterans anyway) and this is their first game. They are just trying to protect their IP and image.
JonTron would have promoted this quite a bit and Playtonic likely feared being associated with him and racism. (I don't know the full story, but I guess he said something racist?)
Going to give them a call soon and get mine fixed. I don't care what it is. If they fix it, and it works then that is all that matters to me. I'll have to go on a Zelda break since I have no spare controllers, but it will be worth it for a fix.
Haven't had to send a repair in ever since my launch Wii. That GPU overheating issue. They were super quick then, and from the looks of it, that hasn't changed.
Definitely going to call to send mine in now. It hasn't been as bad as some people have been saying, but enough to get Link killed a couple times. I tried all of the fixes and tried it in 2 different houses at 3-4 different arrangements, and they all had the issue. It hasn't stopped me from getting 65 hours into Zelda, though!
EDIT: I just completed the "gut challenge" and that was tough with this joycon issue! I was there yelling at Link how he kept going the wrong way causing him to either run out of stamina or jump off the ledges. lol.
Glad to see I wasn't the only one that used bombs on the hinox. I figured I could glide down and just swipe it, but I wanted the loot. lol.
Also gliding to the island? Wow. I used ice to make my way to the nearby shrine island, then used the boat that was parked next to that shrine to make my way to Eventide. Then I used the spare boat that was near the hinox to get to the pedestal in the water.
I am against these kind of things, but I have to admit that what they have done is quite incredible. It almost makes me want to try it.
NOA's status page says this as of 1 hour ago: "We're currently experiencing difficulties with our network services.
Please try again later.
We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause."
900? Bring it on. I will find them all. Although I do consider that a slight spoiler, but oh well. Won't ruin my fun.
Nice to know I can max my inventory way before that, though. Although I would prefer an unlimited amount of slots so I can collect all the weapons. I want to collect at least one of each in mint condition. lol.
@Paperboy Did you test your new joy con yet? I'm debating whether I should send mine in or not because it only very seldomly drops out for me. Some days it will and other days it works fine. I always play with the system docked and the joy con put into the grip.
I don't think your supposed to, but I was able to browse my Facebook feed on this browser. I think its because I had a few sign in errors while attempting to link my account. Once I got in, Facebook forgot about the whole linking process, and instead took me to the homepage. lol. I should have delved deeper.
@BraveSonic I got Epona once when I only had one stable open which was clear on the other side of the map, so I lost her. It took me a couple days of scanning, but I got her to show up again.
Also, Smash Link did NOT give me Epona. No matter how many times I tried. It was my OoT link. Yes, the one with him holding an ocarina! Strange.
Any word on how the Switch seemingly attempts to takeover all TV inputs? Like if I play Wii U or PS3 with the Switch connected, the screen will flash black for a second or so every few minutes. Almost like the signal got cut. I turned off that setting to let the Switch match my TV state, but it still happens. If I unplug the Switch, the problem goes away.
EDIT: I found "HDMI CEC" and some auto power on/off over HDMI settings on my TV and turned those off. I'll see if that fixes it. Those have never worked for me anyway. I always have to manually turn on the TV and choose the input. Cheap Walmart black friday Funai. lol.
Oh the fun of browser sniffing. Well it was either going to guess it was Safari or Chrome. Since its using the most common engine out there, that should bode well for when they launch a full browser.
@leo13 Same reason I didn't buy it. You can't have a LEGO game without co-op! I will be getting this for sure now.
Speaking of LEGO games, I will sure miss how all the Wii U ones let you use the GamePad as a separate screen. It made it much easier compared to the split screen.
So the Amazon placeholder of May 31 was pretty close. I got my preorder in as soon as it showed up online. It still shows up as Disgaea 5 Complete Wii U on Amazon. They didn't fix that yet. lol
Also I love geo puzzles, but if 5 tones it down on those, I'm fine with that.
They don't need to make a headset. Just get some cardboard and you can make a headset that fits the Switch. Then just take out some joycons and your all set. All they need are games.
Sounds alright to me. It will take more than Splatoon and MK8 to make me pay, though.
I'm worried about more obscure online games. Some of them died quick on the Wii. A required subscription might make it even harder to find someone to play with.
As long as I can mute the voice chat, I'm fine with having the option. Since they keep mentioning mobile devices, I think that will be the case. Don't want to hear the chat? Don't use the app.
I am pretty shy, so I never take advantage of voice chat, and hearing everyone else talking really pulls me out of the game. I prefer communicating online using either text or by actions. Like the lobbies in Mario Kart 8, or preset messages in Water Warfare. Even just how you move/gesture in-game can communicate a lot.
Achievements/Trophies! I love those so much. Nintendo can do so much with that idea to make it more worthwhile. Maybe even tie in My Nintendo, like they did with Mario Run.
I figured. I'm guessing there are more features we won't know about until later as well. They might even have some secret features disabled until they feel its time to unlock it. (Like when they finally enabled amiibo functionality on Wii U.)
I went a bit overboard on the Wii U by getting a 2TB harddrive right off the bat.
This time I am going to buy physical-only and rely on the internal storage. I am not getting another SD card until I know I need it. (Even then I may just scrounge around my house for a spare card rather than go out and buy a new one.)
Since Miis are going to be optional, then does that mean an overhaul of My Nintendo is planned? Or maybe they will replace it and slap a new name on it yet again? Either way, I will still be using my Mii wherever it is available.
@Gridatttack The gameplay and especially the geo panel effects are quite similiar to La Pucelle. There is a lot more humor, and of course more of a focus on demons.
@TossedLlama
Each Disgaea game has a unique cast and story, so you can play any of them fine. (The only exception to this is Disgaea: D2, which is a sequel to the first game.) Now characters from older games do show up in the post game, but these scenes are merely humorous and don't really add story, so the most you would miss are a few joke references.
I just about fell out of my chair after I spotted Killia during the Switch presentation. I am so hyped for this.
This series is the sole reason I bought a PS2, was my biggest reason for getting a PS3, and currently is my only reason for wanting a PS4. Now I can skip on the PS4 (for now?) and get it on the Switch!
Also for any doods or nondoods wanting to try out previous games in the series, the first Disgaea is on Steam and the second one is coming at the end of January. They may feel a bit antiquated after playing a newer entry like D5, though. I love Disgaea 2 so much.
I love Wii Play, and party games in general, but I am just not seeing the appeal of this game yet. I'll be watching to see what the full game entails, though. I may even give it a rental just to see.
My back pockets go down to my knees, so I could probably fit it in my back pocket, if I wanted to. Not that I would. It would be slamming against my leg as I walked. I stick to softer and less fragile things for my back pockets.
So if it ships with drained batteries, I guess you have to wait a bit to charge the joy cons first. Is that it? I'm not understanding the issue, I guess.
Got my Gamestop.com preorder in Friday morning around 6 am. I'm scared they'll cancel it, though. I won't be able to relax until it is in my hands. lol.

One tonight and two tomorrow for me. After that, off my joycon goes to Nintendo for repair.

Re: Super Mario Run is Now Live on Android
I don't do much mobile gaming, and I have about $5 saved up from doing Google surveys, so me paying $5 for this sounds reasonable.

Going to give them a call soon and get mine fixed. I don't care what it is. If they fix it, and it works then that is all that matters to me. I'll have to go on a Zelda break since I have no spare controllers, but it will be worth it for a fix.

So far just the joy con issue for me.

Works for me. I always take longer than normal anyway, so that is a good length for me.
Re: It's Time to Claim Your Nintendo Account User ID for Nintendo Switch
Got mine! Now we just need to know if we will have two names again. I never knew if I was going to show up as my NNID or my nickname sometimes.

Nice. I love the original 3DS one. I'll be watching this one.
Re: Snake Pass is Slithering Onto Nintendo Switch in Late March
Just 15 levels? Either way, I'm still getting this.
Sumo sure has improved since their days of SEGA Superstars Tennis. (Well, except for LBP3, but I won't get into that.)
Re: Talking Point: The DLC Expansion Pass for Zelda: Breath of the Wild is Both Surprising and Inevitable
No DLC for me until I finish the base game. After that, I will determine if the $20 is worth it or not.

Re: Rare Veteran David Wise is Producing the Soundtrack for Switch Title Snake Pass
Wohoo! More reason for me to love this game.

No cookies for the Switch. Oh well, more for me.
Re: Out Now: Fire Emblem Heroes Is Available To Download On iOS And Android
Still "coming soon" for me on Android in the US. I know they sometimes roll these out to newer devices first, so that may be it. (Galaxy S5 here)

@Anti-Matter Yep. Download only. At least for now. https://twitter.com/Snake_Pass/status/826945536443965440

YES! I have been following game this ever since it was announced. Who needs Steam? Switch, baby! Wohoo! Thank, you Sumo!

So no physical release for Switch. Looks like I have no choice but to go digital for this game. At least I already have it paid for. lol

Achievements/Trophies! I love those so much. Nintendo can do so much with that idea to make it more worthwhile. Maybe even tie in My Nintendo, like they did with Mario Run.

Yoshi for me. I have it on Wii U, but I'm interested in seeing how it plays on my launch week (not 'NEW') 3DS.

I still prefer gibberish. At least Yooka-Laylee will have it.
Re: Super Mario Run Sprints Onto Android This March
Sounds good. I shall be giving this a go.
Re: Talking Point: Considering the Paid Online Service for the Nintendo Switch
I'm just taking the wait and see approach as we still don't know much about how this will all work, let alone how much it will cost.
