Re: Guide: Where To Pre-Order The Nintendo Switch, Games And Accessories

SM4SHshorts

Help required from UK customers!

GAME doesn't have BotW Special Edition, and I can't find a Switch Pro Controller on Amazon. So I've ordered the console and controller from GAME (for GAME points), and BotW Special Edition from Amazon.

Anyone have any better suggestions please? Thanks in advance!

EDIT: I've now bought the game from GAME too. Search "Vreath" instead of "Breath". That typo may have cost GAME lots

Re: Pokémon Sun And Moon Is Nintendo's Biggest UK Launch Ever

@Piersen This! I'm refraining from looking up things on Serebii/Bulbapedia etc. as I want to explore things entirely for myself and have the adventure spoiler-free (although leaks and inconsiderate YouTube thumbnails have hindered that). With that in mind, I was curious to see what Salandit's hidden ability was, and thank goodness my eye caught glimpse of the whole male/female evolution part. I only raised my male by one level, so not all was lost - feel it for you though buddy, unlucky!

Re: Poll: What Do You Think of Pokémon Sun and Moon: Special Demo Version?

@Shepdawg1 Couldn't agree more. It's like a claim-to-fame for them. No respect in my opinion.

My YouTube and Twitter feeds were spammed yesterday. It's a shame, as the more people that find out about it, the more it's easily exposed to those who don't want to know.

I saw the final evolutions, by complete accident, of Rowlet, Litten, and Popplio. Devastated. It's almost as bad as the leaked Ryu trailer for Smash Bros. Let's hope something similar doesn't happen for BotW. I can imagine finding out about its final boss/ending/plot twist before it even graces a UK shelf.

Re: New Pokémon, Evolutions and Trainers Revealed for Pokémon Sun and Moon

@Mega_Yarn_Poochy I hear you, but I guess I'm just comparing this to some of the earlier gen launches. The internet was obviously nowhere near as dense as it is now, and if you really wanted to know the inside scoop of the games before they came out, you'd have to look to magazines etc.

Now though, anything and everything found out about an upcoming game is blasted on the web, regardless of intention. Early playthroughs are covered by popular YouTubers, and even Nintendo and The Pokémon Company themselves just reveal way too much for my liking. Keep most of it under wraps, and you'll still generate enough interest as well as yield more organic playthroughs. It's common sense that there will be more features and new Pokémon in an upcoming game at this point, so there's no need to show us so much. Hoping Breath of the Wild doesn't receive a similar treatment, though I already feel I've seen enough

RIP playground rumours - boy I loved that era

Love the hype and all, but a large proportion of the game's content being revealed just makes me feel that my upcoming playthrough will be that much less enjoyable.

Yeah, I guess you could say if I don't want spoilers, I shouldn't look. But let's be realistic, how can you avoid such things in this day and age (especially when you're in the industry too)?

I dunno, I guess I just miss the era of having a game as a complete surprise. Imagine finding Alolan Grimer organically, only to feel excited while waiting to see what Alolan Muk would look like.

I understand the concept of marketing etc., but there's other ways to promote the game and increase interest rather than simply revealing loads of its content...

Re: The Wii Is Getting A New Retail Game This November

It's funny, to this day I have people looking at me with the most confused of faces when I mention the words "Wii U". I often get told "You mean the Wii, right?"

It's amazing how poorly the Wii U has been marketed. I'd put it right up there with the GameCube - another amazing console but just unfairly disregarded by many. The Wii U has some amazing titles and in my opinion out-trumps the Wii's core library entirely (not from a business-standpoint obviously).

Man, I'm longing for that next Mario Party that captivated me like 1-3 did. And this ain't nostalgia talking - we still play them to this day!

Although to be fair, Mario Party 10 proved to be a decent game for us as time went on. It has its quirks, but still fails to deliver an overall experience akin to what the series used to be so famous for.

My soapbox here if you're interested! https://www.nintendolife.com/news/2016/06/soapbox_can_mario_party_return_to_its_former_glory

What is it with insensitive people neglecting matters such as this one just because "it's got nothing to do with Nintendo"?! First yesterday's Pokémon GO article, and now this (yes, I know some offenders have apologised since).

Yeah, I understand that many come here for Nintendo news, but it just so happens that with all the great comes the not so good too, so you're gonna get your real stories directly or indirectly related to Nintendo one way or another. If you're not interested or don't have anything pleasant to say regarding a sensitive story, feel free not to read or comment - it's that simple.

Opinions on whether a news piece belongs on the site or not is no excuse for a lack of sensitivity, compassion, or disregard of any moral whatsoever. I've seen some toxic comments over the past few days, real shocking ones at that.

Course, I can't force anyone to do anything, but let's try and keep this a clean and friendly communal environment like it's been for so many years
