@Fangleman32 so just say you can't afford one game that you know will be 10/10, or that you have poor money management skills. A 2 hour movie at $10 is $10, but a 60+ hour game at $70 is unreasonable? If a game lasts longer than 12 hours for $70 you've gotten your money's worth. I'm guessing you're the type of person though who buys CoD or Madden every year with the $100+ edition and cites "replayability" as your justification for playing the same 5 minute maps 100x over.
"If this is the new digital price and isn't an error, it's essentially following the trend of next-generation"
The next generation hasn't been announced, you can't even begin to assume what the pricing structure will be for it. As for the $70 gaming structure of the CURRENT gen, I only pay full price for exclusives so I wouldn't have a problem here especially considering BoTW offered me 300+ hours. A $10 increase for what I can only imagine will be a similar experience is well worth it.
@Friendly GoWR was an amazing game, but despite its cinematic quality it is simply not the same type of game and therefore experience as Pokémon. As for Pokémon having bugs... Nobody who has actually played the game would say they're that bad, certainly not bad enough to turn the experience sour and if you say otherwise then I have to suspect you have an agenda. The core gameplay of Pokémon is what keeps the fans, the true fans, around. GoWR is admittedly (from someone who has the Platinum in every single GoW game) a standard fare action game with a great narrative, which is the very reason I play games. Then again, I've been hooked on Pokémon since '96, and as a true fan, so long as they retain the core gameplay I'll be playing until the day I die. A few bugs won't stop me.
@Moonlessky It's par the course for anti-consumer GAAS titles like this. For starters, don't buy a game that launches with a built in expiration date. If you can't play it offline, with full features, at your own leisure then avoid it, otherwise you have nothing to complain about for supporting an anti-consumer product.
***** like this always amazes me; "They're shutting the servers down? But I dropped $120 for the collector's edition and season pass, they should offer me a refund". You paid for the product, one that was always known to be finite. Anything requiring online will end, don't support it, support real games instead.
This is a lesson to every Xboy! Player counts mean absolutely nothing. Sea of Thieves, Gears 5, FH5, and Halo Infinite were all advertised as massively successful but were all factually DOA. Xbox intentionally uses player count as a means of false advertising, stop being naive!
Now, onto this game; ahem - STOP SUPPORTING ANTI-CONSUMER GAAS TITLES. Anything live service is automatically garbage, there hasn't been a good one released yet and the more people try them out the more that will be made. Play a real game or don't play at all, keep anti-consumer GAAS titles out of gaming!
As a massive AFOL and Zelda fan, it's the perfect property for LEGO. Here's hoping though that they stay away from the interactive Mario-styled sets and give us traditional sets instead. As neat as the Mario ones can be (Bowser's Airship being the best) they're a severe letdown for anyone who enjoys displaying them. My NES set is still boxed up for collector's reasons and my N64 cube makes a great talking piece!
There is no suggestion, Billy Mitchell was long confirmed to be a cheater when the King of Kong came out. Everything since has been his temper tantrums further proving he's a liar and a cheater, nevermind the company he keeps. Anyone who's on his side is also a cheater, just like anyone who still plays ActiBlizz games is a supporter or active participant of sexual abuse and predatory behavior. Plain and simple.
Diddy Kong Racing above all without exception. They did the same thing with the DS port that they did with SM64: ruin it, and the original game deserves to be playable on modern hardware today. It'd be nice if we could get a fully remade version of the classic, and since Xbox has been a 3rd party since 2017 it's certainly possible (no you naive people, Nintendo and MS don't have a good relationship, MS only went 3rd party after failing every single generation), but I won't hold my breath.
All I can say is this game is a huge PASS. I bought it on PlayStation when it first launched, loving the presentation and how it was built; then I finally got to play it.... It starts interestingly enough but too much starts working against it soon enough which is a shame because it looked so good. 7/10 is far too gracious a rating, I'd cap it out at a 4 at best.
@Brady1138 Considering the team behind NSO releases is likely incredibly small, there's only so much they can do within the timeframe they're given for any collection of titles. Mistakes will happen. From what I've seen, none of these "issues" actually affects the game in any real way.
Starfox would be fantastic, so long as they do another Adventure game and not the on rails space sim that's always been so boring. Donkey Kong deserves another title, I'd love for them to fix Luigi's Mansion 3 to make it playable for the majority of players (invert Y axis option to play it correctly) especially since the first 2 had it on by default. Pikmin deserves a proper modern remaster though since we're getting 4 relatively soon it probably won't happen. Most deservingly though is probably Samus, the Prime trilogy remaster, and Prime 4. After the amazing Dread proved the series has tons of life Nintendo can no longer ignore the fans pleas for more Samus.
As for Zelda, as much as I love BotW and will likely love TotK, I want another OoT/WW styled game, if not the WW/TP remasters. Playing Legend of Skyrim was great once, but imitating that awful game made me never go back to it after getting 100%. I've played OoT, WW, TP, and SS numerous times to completion.
No self-respecting gamer will take anything DF says as unbiased or truthful. They false advertised for Xbox One for years, making claims that were easily debunked throughout the community and then tried to bury that evidence right around the generational change. They, just like that POS Aaron Greenberg from Xbox, intentionally set out to fuel fanboy wars (non-gamers would call those "console wars") and divide the community instead of trying to bring everyone together. Anyone who supports Xbox in any way isn't worthy of remaining relevant. We all need to band together and eliminate their presence in gaming permanently.
While the game itself is definitely fun to play (I've been playing on PS5 since full launch), it still doesn't hold a candle to any Pokémon game. The few QoL features that do look like they were regular complaints from Pokémon, are all negated by the incredibly stupid decisions Crema made in their basic designs. Every battle, every path, every adventure isn't as good as it could be and that's what ends up being the most frustrating thing and still makes Pokémon undeniably superior.
@somnambulance Xbox hasn't had a single exclusive since 2015, not entirely sure what you're talking about but I do agree on the Nintendo dominance! Though, as a real gamer, both Sony and Nintendo dominated as they do every year. Xbox as usual did nothing but false advertise, lie, and protect sexual predators.
@johnvboy Real Pokémon fans/gamers weren't the ones who were making the biggest fuss, it was fake fans as always. I got the games at launch and aside from some minor lagging when in a large city, I experienced nothing worth complaining about. I'm certain this was true with most players. There's issues like this in every game, I experienced it in several places in God of War Ragnarök on PS5 shrug.
Real gamers don't make a huge fuss out of trivialities, they have fun despite them. The fakes though? Always looking for controversy. Remember these are the same people who talked ***** about Sw/Sh and BD/SP, both huge successes.
@NinjaNicky Nintendo consoles "power" has nothing to do with whether or not a game can be made for it that looks like ER. Dark Souls is on the switch after all, so your argument immediately falls apart. Secondly, not every franchise regardless of technological advancement needs to appear realistic. A more vibrant art style often surpasses the test of time as opposed to anything realistic. I can still play Wind Waker today and enjoy every second of it but many games from that era or even the following HD era (PSWii60) are just too dated to be enjoyable. ER will fade too.
It's always funny when you see fake fans shout 'realism!' everytime they want to make a case for their insecurities regarding a franchise they claim to enjoy. I enjoy Pokémon because it's Pokémon, not because it looks like a 'modern day game'.
You never truly realize how long something has been apart of your life until the finality of it comes around, and then you start the reminiscing of all the good times and how such a thing has helped you throughout your life. Time moves on quicker than we can process but we make some great memories along the way. All good things must come to an end, and it's better to do so in reverence than in shame. @johnvboy you should have a PS5, you get all the same games as the 3rd party Xbox machine plus Sony exclusives and games that don't grace the 3rd party Xbox consoles. No intelligent gamer buys an Xbox since they went 3rd party in 2017 🤣
Pretty much to be expected. I'd call RE8/2 the exception. As for 7, it's a great game until you leave the main property. That last fight with Jack should have been right at the end, with just a short walk back as a fake conclusion before the real final fight. Instead we got the ***** boat and mines segment that completely kills the game and any desire to play it again.
"A failure on Nintendo's part to demonstrate succinctly the benefits and value of the GamePad controller's asymmetrical gameplay — or to successfully differentiate the console from its predecessor"
This is factually incorrect. The GamePad has always been adequately demonstrated regarding its capabilities, and has in fact been the father to not only the Switch, but the Steam Deck. Without the GamePad these devices simply wouldn't exist. It was a risk that paid off quite well.
As for differentiating from its predecessor... Only a moron with no knowledge of the internet, smart phones, or basic reading comprehension of a box would have confused the Wii U for an add on to the Wii. Demo units were everywhere as well, and clearly showed off not only the hardware, which was substantially different, but the graphics and control, which were substantially different. If the public couldn't understand this then how come there isn't discourse regarding Xbox Series X, S, One, One S, One S All Digital, and One X? Because that's stupid to suggest people who take the time to understand won't understand.
My parents called everything 'Nintendo' when I was growing up, or 'your Super Mario game', because they didn't want to understand what it was. That didn't hurt Nintendo back then, and it didn't hurt the Wii U. What killed the Wii U was one thing and one thing only; EA.
If EA hadn't thrown a hissy fit and pulled ALL of their support months before launch, the Wii U would have been successful. EA was leading the Wii U bandwagon after all, because they were partnered with Nintendo to bring them into the digital realm. Only problem was EA wanted full control and Nintendo intelligently said no. EA cried, pulled support, and the closer to launch we came, the more studios dropped out. Except Ubisoft. We went from extreme hype to developers actively mocking the console because of EA. Ports that were too far along to cancel were rushed and had resources removed from them. EA themselves sabotaged anything they published, and funny enough the ports that didn't get sabotaged reportedly faired better than their other versions.
If you really believe the Wii U's downfall was any other issue then I'm sorry but you've been believing a lie this entire time. It was solely EA, the largest developer in the industry at the time, pulling support. If you see the top dog leaving, the rest follow suit. It's literally just because of EA.
He leaves behind two incredibly horrible franchises, I see no problem with this. I'm not a Cavill fan either, so that didn't help my already deep seated disdain for these franchises.
@Poco_Lypso Not your opinion, it's fact. It's easily the 2nd worst game of last gen. Everything about it is terrible from the controls, combat, narrative, dialogue, characters, VA, quests, everything. I've played thousands of games that easily blow this POS away, so I know those who praise it really haven't played much. It's like the GTA fans, they're not really gamers because any gamer would recognize how utterly terrible R* is at making games and nobody with any intelligence would give them money for the garbage they release.
Current gen update... You can't release an update for a version of a game that doesn't exist on platforms that haven't been developed. I understand you're regurgitating the rhetoric from the developers, but it'd be nice if someone in the gaming industry had a modicum of knowledge pertaining to the "current and next gen" topic. The current gen started 2 years ago, everything released on these platforms (including Switch) is current gen.
The creators certainly do know what the timeline is, or have you not read the official book they put out detailing this very thing? This is why non-gamers shouldn't be writing about gaming. Research the topic before you start throwing your opinion in the hat.
@Mattock1987 Worst? Maybe in the sense that every game is a 10 and SS is a 9.5 sure, but any true Zelda fan would still find an insane amount of joy from the title. All the same narrative elements, themes, and comedy is there, and just like every single title before it it follows its own path that you have to respect. Zelda is one series that truly hasn't had a bad game whatsoever.
@SteamEngenius Aside from like, 1 or 2 quests total there isn't a single good narrative or quest in the entire poorly written game. You can always tell when someone hasn't played a lot of games when they give praise to TW3.
@EaglyTheKawaiiShika As great a game as this is, Pokémon is generally far more enjoyable. In saying that though, they're two completely different games and genres so for someone trying to call someone else out for trolling, you seem to be doing it here.
For as good as this game is, not being able to change out of a school uniform is ridiculous. If I'm attending class then just make the avatar wear them, but out in the field I should be able to wear something else. Oh well, minor gripe.
As with most people, of course I'm still playing it. My wife plays nearly every day too. With all the garbage out there like CoD (only sexual predators and supporters of sexual predators play anything from Activision/Microsoft nowadays) it's great to have an actual game that is more than jock dudebro garbage.
Btw, nothing you PAY for, especially in a PAID SUBSCRIPTION SERVICE, is FREE. That's impossible and anyone would be wise to never be so ignorant to call it free.
Do not tag/reply/comment me, that would be harassment
@Specters no Ubisoft sure, but this is the best thing they've made in years. As for the Rabbids, they're great. I can't stand people who can't stand the Rabbids. It's not like they've oversaturated the market or anything, they're virtually non-existent in gaming except for this. Anything else and it just shows you're going out of your way to annoy yourself with them just to complain about them.
@NEMO86 You can call it that, or you can stop complaining about something we'll never get back from over 20 years ago. I remember those days too, but like many gamers I find endgame unlocks to be rather pointless. I've already beaten the game, 100%, usually over multiple playthroughs... That new character/weapon won't do me any good because I'm not going to play again with a new skin that won't change anything. I have nothing left to collect, to adventure to go on, and them/it being overpowered removes the entire premise of fun from the game.
Is it cool to be awarded new stuff? Absolutely, but it almost always comes when you have nothing left to do in a game and therefore is pointless. You typically can't start a new game with that character/weapon either. I'd much rather pay for additional, meaningful content that will play to the new characters strengths than have some unlockable that I can't use.
The key take away here though is you're not required to pay for this, it's not content you would have gotten originally so you're not missing anything, and if you're so entitled and naive to think it's cut content and you're owed it, please find a different hobby. It's 2022, not 2010. We've been educated extensively on how dlc is made and very few games have actually cut content for sale later.
@YoshiF2 So you'd rather perpetually pay for a game you may or may not play than buy a game you actually want ONCE and play it? This is why anti-consumer GAAS titles are spreading like wildfire, because of naive entitled consumers like you.
The "Netflix of games" model doesn't work for one reason: you can't realistically play a game long enough to justify paying for a service. Watching a 30 minute show or 2 hour movie is easily justified, but playing a 20+ hour game will never be. Of course you're sitting there going, "well duh, I can beat a 20 hour game in a weekend, guhhh" but you won't. You have too much available to you, you won't stay focused long enough, so you'll get a few hours in and fritter the time away browsing for something else. It's the same as buying a bunch of great games on a flash sale, all of a sudden you're inundated and don't have "anything to play". Anyone who has a backlog can attest to this, and that admission is the very reason you supporting an anti-consumer service like NSO or Gamepass is incredibly stupid. I'll gladly pay $15 for a game I might take years to actually play, but by that time you'll have paid hundreds. There's no defense you can supply, Gamepass users have already destroyed any hope you could have to justify this.
Real gamers buy their games, casual hobbyists perpetually rent them and claim "value" because that's what the media has force fed them the last 5 years.
@jsty3105 ignore port beggars. These are the same people who will say "I'd play Mario and Zelda if they came to ______". They wouldn't. Why do I know this? Because if they actually wanted to play those games they would have gotten a Nintendo a long time ago instead of whining. I'd love to play Gears of War on PlayStation, because it's the only thing Xbox has that's worth a damn, but guess what? I have an Xbox to play that series. Now that Xbox has gone 3rd party though it's highly likely we'll see a trilogy collection on new platforms as this is a realistic probability now.
@RudyC3 Nintendo owns the sequels. Sega still owns the original. Nintendo isn't in the habit (currently) of releasing games outside of their own hardware nor have they mentioned going full 3rd party like Xbox. If the game goes multiplat, it'll be when a new Nintendo console comes out and they port it.
The Wii U era wasn't disappointing 😂, most of its library has come to Switch in one way or another and given second life. If Wii U was disappointing, the Switch wouldn't have performed as well as it has.
The sole, primary reason for any discourse surrounding Wii U was EA and their treatment of the system because they had to be big babies when Nintendo rightfully wouldn't allow them complete control of their online systems. When they said no, EA announced they were canceling all future games in development for Wii U. The went so far to even then release Mass Effect 3 for $60 on Wii U right alongside the trilogy on other platforms. Who followed EAs footsteps? Ubisoft. Once one publisher pulls away it gives others pause, regardless of how silly and pathetic EAs reasoning was, especially when the ports that did come out performed exceptionally well when the studio cared.
The other complaint was people didn't "know what it was". So looking at the box for 10 seconds was too hard? Google? YouTube? Ignorance is no excuse so anyone who ever said that (or still does) is beyond a ***** moron. If you didn't want to know, fine, but don't pretend you couldn't understand something a 5 yr old could easily.
The Wii U failed because of EA and a moronic community of "gamers" who fell for nonsense in the media, like what was said above in the first paragraph, nothing more. Thankfully real gamers got a Switch.
Imagine if they hadn't released it via anti-consumer-pass, the people on Xbox might have purchased it too making that number much higher. Well, I already own it on PlayStation but I may as well grab it on Switch too, perfect for a lazy handheld night in bed.
@ThreedZombie A game that's worth every penny and you're waiting for a sale? You probably bought the latest Madden, NBA2k, CoD, or spent money on GTAO though didn't you? TMNTSR is 100x better than most AAA releases.
Mario is great, Rabbids are great, the first game was great, this will be great too. Anyone who thought this would flop should immediately leave gaming behind because they are out of the loop.
** Again, don't tag me. I don't read it. I have an additional notification from my last post which shows someone on here cannot read or can but is unable to decipher a simple request. Be ignorant on your own time **

Re: Return To Castlevania In The Next Dead Cells DLC, Arriving Q1 2023
Eh, I'd rather play the classic Castlevania games instead. Dead Cells just never hit for me, but great news for fans of both!
Re: Witcher 3's Free DLC Update Doesn't Have A Switch Release Date Yet
@Poco_Lypso Not your opinion, it's fact. It's easily the 2nd worst game of last gen. Everything about it is terrible from the controls, combat, narrative, dialogue, characters, VA, quests, everything. I've played thousands of games that easily blow this POS away, so I know those who praise it really haven't played much. It's like the GTA fans, they're not really gamers because any gamer would recognize how utterly terrible R* is at making games and nobody with any intelligence would give them money for the garbage they release.
Re: Witcher 3's Free DLC Update Doesn't Have A Switch Release Date Yet
Current gen update... You can't release an update for a version of a game that doesn't exist on platforms that haven't been developed. I understand you're regurgitating the rhetoric from the developers, but it'd be nice if someone in the gaming industry had a modicum of knowledge pertaining to the "current and next gen" topic. The current gen started 2 years ago, everything released on these platforms (including Switch) is current gen.
Re: Random: Could Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom Be The Final Part Of A Trilogy Of Zelda Games?
The creators certainly do know what the timeline is, or have you not read the official book they put out detailing this very thing? This is why non-gamers shouldn't be writing about gaming. Research the topic before you start throwing your opinion in the hat.
Re: Random: Could Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom Be The Final Part Of A Trilogy Of Zelda Games?
@Mattock1987 Worst? Maybe in the sense that every game is a 10 and SS is a 9.5 sure, but any true Zelda fan would still find an insane amount of joy from the title. All the same narrative elements, themes, and comedy is there, and just like every single title before it it follows its own path that you have to respect. Zelda is one series that truly hasn't had a bad game whatsoever.
Re: CD Projekt Red Showcases Witcher 3 Free Netflix DLC Update, Out December 14th
@SteamEngenius Aside from like, 1 or 2 quests total there isn't a single good narrative or quest in the entire poorly written game. You can always tell when someone hasn't played a lot of games when they give praise to TW3.
Re: NieR: Automata Sales Soar To Seven Million Following Switch Release
@EaglyTheKawaiiShika As great a game as this is, Pokémon is generally far more enjoyable. In saying that though, they're two completely different games and genres so for someone trying to call someone else out for trolling, you seem to be doing it here.
Re: NieR: Automata Sales Soar To Seven Million Following Switch Release
Own it on PlayStation, excellent game. Congratulations to Platinum for its success.
Re: Pokémon Scarlet & Violet: How To Change Clothes, Where To Buy New Outfits
For as good as this game is, not being able to change out of a school uniform is ridiculous. If I'm attending class then just make the avatar wear them, but out in the field I should be able to wear something else. Oh well, minor gripe.
Re: Review: Pokémon Scarlet And Violet - An Open-World Poké Playground Full Of Promise (And Tech Issues)
A Pokemon game that plays more or less like a Pokemon game, exactly what real Pokemon fans want. I can't wait.
Re: Poll: One Year After The DLC, Are You Still Playing Animal Crossing: New Horizons?
As with most people, of course I'm still playing it. My wife plays nearly every day too. With all the garbage out there like CoD (only sexual predators and supporters of sexual predators play anything from Activision/Microsoft nowadays) it's great to have an actual game that is more than jock dudebro garbage.
Btw, nothing you PAY for, especially in a PAID SUBSCRIPTION SERVICE, is FREE. That's impossible and anyone would be wise to never be so ignorant to call it free.
Do not tag/reply/comment me, that would be harassment
Re: Here Are The First Details For Mario + Rabbids Sparks Of Hope's Season Pass
@Specters no Ubisoft sure, but this is the best thing they've made in years. As for the Rabbids, they're great. I can't stand people who can't stand the Rabbids. It's not like they've oversaturated the market or anything, they're virtually non-existent in gaming except for this. Anything else and it just shows you're going out of your way to annoy yourself with them just to complain about them.
Re: Here Are The First Details For Mario + Rabbids Sparks Of Hope's Season Pass
@KBuckley27 Most of Nintendo's first part games are worth the money
Re: Here Are The First Details For Mario + Rabbids Sparks Of Hope's Season Pass
Re: The Nintendo 64 Platformer Glover Is Coming Soon To Switch
Re: Hideki Kamiya Thanks Nintendo For Helping Make Bayonetta 3 A Reality
@jsty3105 ignore port beggars. These are the same people who will say "I'd play Mario and Zelda if they came to ______". They wouldn't. Why do I know this? Because if they actually wanted to play those games they would have gotten a Nintendo a long time ago instead of whining. I'd love to play Gears of War on PlayStation, because it's the only thing Xbox has that's worth a damn, but guess what? I have an Xbox to play that series. Now that Xbox has gone 3rd party though it's highly likely we'll see a trilogy collection on new platforms as this is a realistic probability now.
Re: Hideki Kamiya Thanks Nintendo For Helping Make Bayonetta 3 A Reality
@RudyC3 Nintendo owns the sequels. Sega still owns the original. Nintendo isn't in the habit (currently) of releasing games outside of their own hardware nor have they mentioned going full 3rd party like Xbox. If the game goes multiplat, it'll be when a new Nintendo console comes out and they port it.
Re: Talking Point: Would You Prefer 'Super Mario Odyssey 2' Or A Totally New 3D Mario?

Re: TMNT: Shredder's Revenge Helped Publisher Dotemu Net A Bodacious $22 Million In Revenue
Imagine if they hadn't released it via anti-consumer-pass, the people on Xbox might have purchased it too making that number much higher. Well, I already own it on PlayStation but I may as well grab it on Switch too, perfect for a lazy handheld night in bed.
Re: TMNT: Shredder's Revenge Helped Publisher Dotemu Net A Bodacious $22 Million In Revenue
@ThreedZombie A game that's worth every penny and you're waiting for a sale? You probably bought the latest Madden, NBA2k, CoD, or spent money on GTAO though didn't you? TMNTSR is 100x better than most AAA releases.
Re: The Super Mario Bros. Movie Gets 'PG' Rating
Everything about this movie looks absolutely amazing and anyone suggesting otherwise is clearly delusional.
Re: Round Up: The Reviews Are In For Mario + Rabbids Sparks Of Hope
Mario is great, Rabbids are great, the first game was great, this will be great too. Anyone who thought this would flop should immediately leave gaming behind because they are out of the loop.
