Re: A New Bayonetta 3 Report Features A Differing Account Of PlatinumGames VA Pay Offer

RobynAlecksys

@metalgario Generally speaking the party who jumps to make a video is either lying or not telling the full truth. We will likely never see the actual contract offered to her, which is the only thing that can prove anything.

She was probably offered comparable to what her previous stints paid and didn't like it, as evident by her video. Platinum claiming she wanted a six figure sum and residuals backs that up, and I don't think it's too farfetched to believe she did ask for more money. Unfortunately I get the feeling she got greedy. Her voice work was great, though it seems easily replicated (which virtually means nothing given how many different people do identical voices in anime, cartoons, other games, etc) but this public display will have likely cost her a future in the industry.

While Bayonetta the franchise is relatively popular, platinum tends to have several duds between bigger games. They needed Nintendo to fund the second game as well and I wouldn't be surprised if this one was funded by them too, which means that if they couldn't have hired her (or anyone else for that matter) for $xxxx sum, they would have looked elsewhere. I doubt Hale got much more if any to do the job despite how big a name she is. Every job pays differently, you sign the contract to agree to do it or you don't. Unless it's Activision, EA, etc, you really don't have much negotiation power, especially not someone of Taylor's small resume.

** Since people keep tagging me, stop. I don't read what you say, this isn't a discussion. I say what I need to then leave never to return. You're wasting your energy.**

Re: Bayonetta's OG Voice Actor Asks Fans To "Boycott" Third Game After PlatinumGames Wage Fallout

RobynAlecksys

@ClockworkMario Initially yes, it does seem low, but they replaced her with the Troy Baker equivalent of female-led voice actors for likely the same amount. I came into this article agreeing with her, she painted a picture of a flat rate with no mention of royalties, appearances, merchandise, etc.... But then she also implied Hale was "new" and she wasn't aware of who she was. Commander Shepard would require a fair offer and it seems to have been an easy replacement for Platinum considering this is the first time we're hearing about it just days from launch.

Furthermore, the original VA is amazing, I can't believe she's just "sitting around" with no work. If anyone knew she was available I'm sure (prior to this) she would have been flooded with work. Now that she's taken to publicly call out a company though, ask fans to boycott everything in this franchise moving forward, and admitted to have broken her NDA (which can result in more than fines) I believe she's just blacklisted herself in the industry.

Re: New Sonic Frontiers Trailer Finally Showcases The Combat, And It's A Lot To Take In

RobynAlecksys

@Hemibear because the "good ol days" were never good. Yeah everyone will praise Sonic 2, despite it not being a good game in any way. The biggest problem with Sonic games have always been the Sonic fanbase; you never know what you want. They release two identical games and you'll praise one while degrading the other, then complain about how they can't make a good modern game. The only fanbase as close to delusional as the Sonic fanbase is the Pokemon one! For once in his entire franchise Sonic looks to have an amazing game releasing.

So sick of bad design: run right so fast you can't see the next hazard, get hit, lose rings, scramble to get 1 ring, run again and not see a single thing in the stage, finish. The best thing to happen to Sonic has always been leaving his traditional game design behind.

Re: Here's What's Coming In Xenoblade Chronicles 3 Expansion Pass Wave 2

RobynAlecksys

@ketrac Considering what you said is true about 98% of all games, how are you surprised? Off the top of my head the only games I can think of right now that had a worthwhile DLC of any kind have been the Mass Effect trilogy, Horizon Zero Dawn, Gears 3, and Mario + Rabbids Donkey Kong expansion. I'm sure if I take a few days and really go through my library of over 1k games I can find a few more, but you're still talking about 1 game out of every 100 (or every few years) that's even worth looking at the season pass for. Oh and no, not a single GAAS title would make the list.

Re: Random: Fan Remakes Pokémon Yellow In Link's Awakening-Style 3D

RobynAlecksys

@Snatcher Well, considering the Diamond and Pearl remakes were amazing, yeah this looks terrible. Also considering this was done on two weeks with only a few of the elements in this very small section represented, it's impressive. The dedication that went into this would be tough for anyone to replicate identically, let alone better, and while it doesn't look appealing it also doesn't take away from the sheer effort this project took. Try to do it yourself, video the process, and show your work.

Re: Nintendo Survey Asks Fans What Pokémon Games & Spin-Offs They Want

RobynAlecksys

@FishyS So... Let's Go... The amazing games that you literally trash in your comment before praising without realizing it. I swear, fake fans are always hilarious 😂. Sw/Sh was bad! No it wasn't. Let's Go ruined the franchise! No it made the original games 100x better and brought QoL improvements to the franchise as a whole. BD/SP was lazy! No, they were exactly what you wanted from the Let's Go remakes originally. Fake fans have always been so fake.

Re: Nintendo Survey Asks Fans What Pokémon Games & Spin-Offs They Want

RobynAlecksys

We real Pokemon fans play Pokemon because it's Pokemon, none of the spinoffs are really even worth the time. Stadium? Terrible. Snap? Garbage. Mystery Dungeon? Interesting but ultimately forgettable. The rest I don't even remember. Traditional is still leagues better, and after the fantastic Let's Go updates they've only gotten better, which is impressive. I did experience burnout, Y/X I never finished, and I didn't bother with S/M/US/UM, but aside from those everything else has been fantastic.

Re: Review: Tunic - Old-School Adventuring With Nods To Zelda, Unforgiving And Ingenious

RobynAlecksys

I have been so excited to play this day 1 multiplat- er I mean Xbox console exclusive (which means day 1 on several platforms so false advertising from the worst company in gaming)! Whether to play it on Switch or PlayStation though is the question. Performance is irrelevant, a good game is a good game, the real question is do I want to achieve 100% via trophies or not.... True dilemma.

Re: Mario + Rabbids Sparks Of Hope Won't Include Multiplayer

RobynAlecksys

@NoPhysicalNoBuy So go play another boring, shallow, unbalanced, shoehorned MP title. Most are free now or use the highly anti-consumer GAAS model to suck money out of you using a mobile game business model. I prefer real games like this one that the devs clearly have passion for and are memorable. That's what gamers want. Casual hobbyists like yourself just want something as important as social media.

Re: Mario + Rabbids Sparks Of Hope Won't Include Multiplayer

RobynAlecksys

Good. More developers need to focus on the most important part; the game. Multiplayer is typically the most shallow, unbalanced, and boring mode of any game, generally shoehorned into a product that didn't need it and it's always at the detriment of the actual game itself.

As for co-op, some games can benefit from it but it has to be a focus from the start. This also greatly changes how the game is presented and played though. Borderlands wouldn't be the same if it was developed for a single player then patched in co-op, just as Metal Gear Solid wouldn't if it focused on co-op over the narrative. Mario Rabbids was an amazing SP experience that lost its luster when multiple players were introduced whether it was co-op or multi, and the devs are making a great decision here to make the game the best it can be without trying to shoehorn multiplayer into it.

Re: Poll: So, How Are You Pronouncing Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom?

RobynAlecksys

As in crying, obviously. Goldeneye isn't anything to celebrate either, we shouldn't support anti-consumer behavior. If you're paying a monthly fee to play an online game that you're already paying another monthly fee to access, you're a fool. It's just like paying for anti-consumer-pass; you're literally renting content and being ripped off thinking because it's so "cheap" it's a value... It isn't! Goldeneye wasn't a great MP game back in the day, and it's not going to hold up at all today in any capacity. The best part of that game, and any game factually, is the single player campaign. A hollow deathmatch is just that, hollow. It's shallow content for the feebleminded who can't handle anything more complex than "allow auto aim to line up your headshot and hope between lag and reaction timing it connects". That's why it's hilarious when people think online gaming takes "skill". If it's an MMO with copious amounts of content then fine, but an anti-consumer GAAS like Destiny 2 or CoD? Worthless. Goldeneye will launch and be forgotten just as quickly.

Re: Random: Billy Mitchell Claims Doctor Won't See Him Due To Donkey Kong Cheating Accusations

RobynAlecksys

He's just trouble for anyone in his life in any capacity. Twin Galaxies has done the right thing, the Judge over this entire case should rightfully throw Mitchell's case out, the evidence has been far too damning even before this went to court. The only person Mitchell is fooling is himself and he needs to own up to the fact that all of his 'success' is built around lies. The very people who got him there need to be held accountable as well.

Re: Nintendo Direct Zelda Announcement Rumours Intensify

RobynAlecksys

I can think of nothing mentioned here to be important enough to delay the broadcast. Yes, someone passing is always tragic, however the world has this strange fascination with the Queen and her family that is frankly, unwarranted. Same as if a president or celebrity in the US passes, okay? They're a person like everyone else and while the world around those closest to the deceased will be impacted, the rest of us are/should be unaffected. The news of her passing yesterday was a "wow, that's sad. What's for dinner" moment.

If the broadcast is delayed I can certainly wait, I just don't believe it's worth their time to do so.

Re: Mistwalker Boss Not Interested In Reviving Studio's Older Games

RobynAlecksys

@dBackLash Way old comment/article, but that's exactly what a gamer does; do you not have a healthy catalog of games you always go back to because they're just that great? And since you're here, I can only assume you do since you're a gamer, so wouldn't you also want a more updated version of said games to be easier to play on current hardware? If you said no to any of that then I can't understand why you'd be on this website in any capacity other than to troll.

Fun fact, I found this article while searching for Mistwalker contact info. The big "trilogy" (Blue Dragon, Lost Odyssey, and The Last Story) definitely needs to be remade for modern hardware so these amazing stories aren't lost to time. Owning anything Xbox related is cringeworthy at best, especially when 2 of those games were at the top of the list for "very few reasons to own an Xbox", and the other is on the defunct Wii/Wii U. Modern audiences would find a much deeper appreciation for these 3 games than they garnered back then, especially when moved from the Xbox crowd to real gamers.

Re: Game Journalist Doubles Down On Zelda News At Upcoming Nintendo Direct

RobynAlecksys

Here's hoping we get everything mentioned here, and that Nintendo finally allows us to play WW properly and invert the Y axis. One of my favorite games and it's so hard to play incorrectly. Same reason Luigi's Mansion 3 remains unfinished, because they don't believe in pro-consumer accessibility. No invert Y = anti-consumer.
