Re: Red Dead Redemption Fans Aren't Happy About Rockstar's "Lazy Port"

RobynAlecksys

Excluding an awful multiplayer component is always welcome in my eyes (thanks Naughty Dog), but when will people learn that R* is singlehandedly the worst developer in the industry? They haven't made a single game worth playing, ever. I don't think they've even held a gaming controller because, if you've actually played their games, you'd know they program the absolute worst controls in any game they make. Definitely boycott the entire company, don't play a single R* game ever, it's not worth it. A close second to them is CDPR, Bugthesda, and Microsoft.

Re: Video: Digital Foundry's Technical Analysis Of Pikmin 4

RobynAlecksys

@RareFan As a hardcore Pikmin fan, any "fan" telling you this game is repetitive and easy has never played a single game in the series. They're all repetitive and easy, you don't play Pikmin for the challenge. I've 100%'d each title numerous times and will be able to say the same about Pikmin 4 starting today. It's a truly amazing game.

As for DF, ***** them. Let's please stop giving them any attention.

Re: Rayman Returns In Upcoming Mario + Rabbids DLC, Out This Month

RobynAlecksys

@Not_Soos If that was the case, the Mario + Rabbids series wouldn't even exist. If you're talking about the Nintendo of the 90s then maybe you'd have a case, but modern day Nintendo is quite collaborative. There's no harm in being protective of your IP, and they do more with crossover IPs than any other developer so you're highly misinformed.

Re: Soapbox: Oatchi Is The Star Of Pikmin 4, And He Deserves To Stay For Good

RobynAlecksys

Not every game needs multiplayer, and with how easy Pikmin games are we CERTAINLY don't need anymore assistance, at least within the traditional story modes. They don't need a battle mode either, as competitive battles are the lowest form of entertainment and far too shallow to be worth anything. However, Oatchi definitely needs to stay. The Pikmin series has always been amazing and while I was worried about them "adding QoL features to make the game more accessible" (which usually equates to handholding) they knocked it out of the park.

As far as your praise for TotK goes... Sorry, easily the worst Zelda game ever made by far. They didn't do much of anything for the time it took to develop, and gave us a game to make for ourselves. Here's hoping they ditch those worthless additions and instead give us an actual game instead of a zelda-themed Minecraft.

Re: Microsoft Given All-Clear In The US To Acquire Activision Blizzard

RobynAlecksys

@Paraka You're absolutely right. Anyone supporting this merger is beyond ***** stupid. Phil Spencer took Xbox 3rd party intentionally, so Microsoft could buy other 3rd parties specifically to control the market and hold a monopoly. Phil said as much on stage at E3 in 2017 when he officially took Xbox 3rd party. This was obvious to anyone who wasn't an Xboy.

Re: Super Mario RPG Director Was "Very Surprised" By The Switch Remake Announcement

RobynAlecksys

@ozwally It's easily one of the top SNES games ever created, the direct inspiration for Paper Mario/Mario & Luigi RPGs, and an absolute charming title with characters virtually never seen since who all have cult followings. Given the immediate success (and drama) following launch the game is one of the most important industry releases originally, a significant release for 2023, and a very bright look towards the future. The only thing more miraculous at this point would be something like Mother 3 localization announcement/Earthbound collection.

Re: Talking Point: What Do You Wish You Knew Sooner In Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom?

RobynAlecksys

I wish I knew before launch that the godawful garbage fuse mechanic was going to take over the entire game. The brief explanation we got two weeks prior to launch was enough to make me worry it would be a minor annoyance but I didn't expect it to be incorporated into every aspect of what could have been a fantastic game. If I wanted to give money to lazy developers who couldn't be asked to actually make a game I'd go play Minecraft, but I expected a Zelda game, not The Legend of Banjo-Kazooie Tears of the Nuts & Bolts. Whatever there is to be found in game isn't worth it

Re: Rumour: Universal Closing "Big Deal" With Nintendo For Zelda Illumination Movie

RobynAlecksys

You wouldn't know it by my utter disgust for TotK, but I'm one of the biggest Zelda fans ever and everyone here seems to not trust Illumination for some reason. Young Link and toon Link would be solid fits for them, and they could very easily do a spoof on his lack of talking by having characters humorously interrupt him from time to time, with his usual grunts and groans being sufficient for most of the movie. I'd expect a few lines of dialogue, especially near the end in the climactic battle, but the worry needs to stop. The Mario movie was absolutely stellar in every aspect and no fan would have any complaints about it, let them give Zelda a go. We all know Nintendo will not hesitate to scrap a project if it's not meeting their expectations.

Re: The Super Mario Bros. Movie: Is There A Post-Credits Scene?

RobynAlecksys

Movie was absolutely amazing, perfect in every way which is surprising because for once Seth Rogen was actually good. However, let's finally end this garbage where the headline asks a question and the author feels the need to exposit all over the place to answer said question. If you're not going to answer the question in the first sentence, don't write the ***** article. Nothing worse than journalists who think others want to read beyond the climax of the headline.

Re: Eiji Aonuma Has Completed Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom "About 20 Times"

RobynAlecksys

I only just got to Hoz, and am still disappointed with how terrible this game is compared to previous titles. Each time I cut the game on I'm barely able to traverse in any direction before being confronted with why the game sucks, and it's Ultrahand/fuse that's so disappointing. Only 2 main Zelda titles I've ever disliked, this and MM, and I keep hoping TotK will redeem itself but I highly doubt it.

Re: Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom Update Now Live (Version 1.1.1), Here Are The Full Patch Notes

RobynAlecksys

But does it make the game good? Once I saw the fuse ability I knew the game would rely on it far too much and I've already stopped playing 3x in the tutorial area. Finally got past that garbage and have no desire to continue playing. I'm all for open world games, I'm all for the BotW style even though I'd prefer the OoT/TP format better, but don't make me make up my own gameplay like this is the god awful Minecraft or Sims titles. I expected some garbage "force me to use the environment to solve what should be a simple puzzle" mechanics but so far that's all its been.

Re: LEGO 2K Drive's Physical Switch Release Is Just A Download Code

RobynAlecksys

It's 2023, why are you not buying digitally anyway? The myth you don't own a digital game has been debunked years ago, and every intelligent gamer knows in 90% of cases digital is far cheaper. This isn't the 90s anymore, far too many "gamers" have been stuck in their archaic ways. I used to be physical only until I took 5 minutes and educated myself, anyone complaining here should too.

As for 2k and their terrible practices... Simply don't play the game. Buying used, borrowing from a friend, etc still supports them. Play something else and learn from your previous mistakes. They've only released the game as they have because the majority of you complaining still bend over for them. If that upsets you, then you're exactly who I'm talking to.

Re: Zelda: Breath Of The Wild Multiplayer Mod YouTube Videos Are Getting Copyright Strikes

RobynAlecksys

Disturbing his livelihood of stealing and modifying content he doesn't own? Who in their right mind would defend his thieving ass?! To start with, modders aren't gamers. They take something they're bored with and make it fun to them, which is asinine because they can just go play something else or get a new hobby. There isn't a single mod out there that is worth my time as a real gamer. Secondly, any content that isn't yours yet you're collecting a paycheck for is STEALING. Black and white, he's using Zelda BotW assets without permission for compensation. No other factors matter here, that's theft 101. You defend him, you're admittedly a thief. I do hope you leave your doors unlocked at night because you firmly believe anyone can take whatever they want at anytime for their own personal gain.

Re: Talking Point: Should Link Have Voice Acting In The Next Zelda Game?

RobynAlecksys

Zelda's voice in BotW was amazing, but Link is literally named as such to be a -link- between the player and the game world. Giving him a voice beyond his grunts would be nothing but detrimental. His stoicism and silence in certain moments (Twilight Princess often comes to mind here) really carries weight and the writers do a good job with the support characters in those situations. Him having a voice would make those moments lesser.

Anyone who thinks Link needs a true, scripted VA is not a Zelda fan at all.

Re: Round Up: The Reviews Are In For The Super Mario Bros. Movie, And They're All Over The Place

RobynAlecksys

The person saying it's nothing like the video game must not have ever played a Mario game. Saying TLoU was nothing like the game would be saying something, but turning a narratively simple platformer into a full fledged movie is incredibly difficult.

I can almost guarantee all the poor reviews are secretly based off of their hatred of Chris Pratt, most of them don't really sound like they have legitimate issues to rate it so low, they just sound like they're nitpicking.

Re: Where To Pre-Order Pikmin 4 On Switch - Best Deals And Cheapest Prices

RobynAlecksys

@-wc- We actually do know if it'll be good, because it is from Nintendo who has an impeccable track record. It's like Sony, pretty much any game from them is guaranteed to be objectively good. It's the safest bet you can take. I'm always puzzled by people who don't know Nintendo is literally the safest bet in gaming you can take with your money. Please don't tell me you buy EA/ActiBlizz/Xbox games, because that'll expose you as a fake and lacking gaming knowledge.

Re: Community: Welcome To Nintendo Life's New And Improved Discord Server

RobynAlecksys

@FishyS There's an easy solution to that; don't have a back and forth with a random internet denizen. I have notifications turned off, I don't check what anyone says, and if I comment on an article it's the only time I'll ever be on that article. Say what you need to and move on, keep the chat about the topic at hand, and never revisit an old conversation.

Re: Talking Point: What Makes A Really Good Demo?

RobynAlecksys

Certainly not transferable save data, get that garbage put of my demo. I'm playing the demo to get a feel for a game, the demo definitely shouldn't be the opening tutorial because that doesn't show me anything and I'll want to start from scratch when I start the game proper anyway.

Put me into an interesting area, with some early game skills unlocked, and let me play with some mechanics that highlight the premise of your game. No more than 30 minutes, it should be easy to digest and give just a taste. Anything more and you risk me getting bored or seeing something that might actually put me off buying it. One bad area in a demo will kill it, one bad area in a great game will make me persevere.

Edit: Bayonetta Origins is every example of what NOT to do.

Re: Nintendo Switch System Update 16.0.0 Is Now Live, Here Are The Full Patch Notes

RobynAlecksys

@Polvasti because it's 2023 and you likely typed this on a smartphone, like 90% of people here, and nobody in their right mind would use a console based web browser over a fully fledged smartphone browser. You could have asked for anything useful and intelligent but instead you asked for a web browser. That's like asking for Netflix, go use it on one of the other, better, hundred devices you already own.

Re: Nintendo Switch System Update 16.0.0 Is Now Live, Here Are The Full Patch Notes

RobynAlecksys

@XCWarrior Take better care of your belongings, learn how to clean them/do preventive maintenance (which owner smart owner of items will naturally do), or replace old, worn out items (as items naturally wear out over time).

Drift has always been one of those things blown away out of proportion and usually by those who lack the knowledge to take care of their own belongings. My first set of joycon that 'drifted' took 4 years. I have 4 Switches, 2 from launch, and that was the only pair to do it.

Do I argue the problem doesn't exist? Not in the slightest, but it was always the vocal minority's trivial issue that stemmed most likely from negligence on the user's part.

Re: Soapbox: As A Colour Blind Gamer, I Can Now Finally Beat Metroid Prime

RobynAlecksys

@Chocobo_Shepherd While I sympathize with the author, this was another one of those terrible articles that presents itself with an interesting headline then refuses to get to the ***** point until 100 paragraphs later. We didn't need a scientific lesson or even a history lesson, we clicked because we wanted to know the exact reason why the author wrote the article. It should have been 3 - 4 paragraphs at the max.

Re: Sonic Frontiers' Sales "Greatly Exceeded" Expectations

RobynAlecksys

Step one: Stop listening to Sonic fans about what they want; you give it to them every time and they hate it. They are your worst enemy.

Step two: Limit Sonic's in-game speed instead of allowing him to outrun the camera or force the player on rails. You can incorporate speed into special attacks and specific traversal/platforming gimmicks over full speed all the time mode.

Step three: For a character with speed, open world is the best format. Frontiers is the closest thing to an actual good Sonic game yet, and no, the original trilogy was garbage too because of speed.

Frontiers exceeding expectations after all the "fans" talked ***** about it is fantastic, it's the same with all the fake Pokémon "fans" who call each new iteration garbage as it outsells the previous one.

Re: Zelda: Breath Of The Wild And DLC Treated To 30% Off In eShop Sale

RobynAlecksys

@Sir_Axeman Why? Nintendo isn't in the habit of discounting their games to make a quick buck like the competition is. They don't devalue their titles. As it sits, BotW is the best selling Zelda title ever at nearly 30m if not above that by now. Would you drop the price of a game that sold that well? No, no intelligent person would.

Sales are great, price drops are great, but those are also an indicator of poor sales or cash grab sequels around the corner. Nintendo doesn't pump out sequels because their games have long tails, this is a good thing. It's why Zelda has continued since the 80s, whereas most great franchises last a single generation after oversaturation causes a lull.
