@eltomo I wouldn't say all of them but I'd be willing to bet money that a good majority of them have got a political agenda they want to push on society, especially middle and upper management.
Unfortunately a friend of mine was talking about this a while ago and he said something I never considered, the gaming industry is among the best paying industry to get into if you're a talented developer. Which means the industry will inevitably attract developers who have no interest at all in video games and are actually activists in their free time.
This is something I never really considered before as I automatically assumed many people working on creating video games also enjoy playing them too.
But since the gaming industry has become the biggest entertainment industry in the world by a wide margin, that has started to shift and the industry is attracting people who not only have no interest in video games but also want to push a political agenda.
Unfortunately EA are one of the main places these guys decided to go too, Ubisoft being another.
This same thing also happened with video game journalism too.
Nah this has to be intentional, for publicity or something, I refuse to believe the creators are that stupid to not realise this would get shut down before it even gets started.
I genuinely feel like anyone making anything related to Nintendo in an attempt to turn profits, without a right to the IP, actually needs to go get their mental health evaluated before making any decisions. I feel like people doing that have self destructive tendancies.
At this point you actually have to be genuinely diagnosed with low IQ if you attempt to make a fan made Nintendo project without permission.
Leaks didn't damage Nintendo or the Switch 2, Nintendo dragging their heels on announcing this when it's clearly been ready since at least January 2024 is what damaged them.
How do I know it must have been ready since then? Because 90% of the leaks we got throughout 2024 were pretty much correct, especially the ones for accessories, which means if the leaks for accessories were mostly correct in the entirety of 2024, accessories being the last thing needed to launch a console, it means Nintendo have more or less had the system sitting there for at least a year now and just not saying anything about it.
Then they have the audacity to get mad at leaks 😂.
@jfp see this is EXACTLY what I meant about Nintendo resting on the laurels, this is how they always get caught slacking.
This thing is basically a DSi version of the Switch we already have and they held of years just to reveal this, like this was going to make any substantial waves, showing of ONE GAME.
@msvt Nintendo don't owe anyone anything but relying on blind consumerism isn't going to get them sales. If a better alternative does come along, beats Nintendo to launch, has better features, better online, more games that are not aimed at a younger demographic and at a similar price point.
The first people crying that everyone abandoned Nintendo will be you guys, the same people who are saying "Nintendo doesn't owe you anything".
Your crowd will be the first to kick and scream when nobody buys Nintendo hardware, like when it happened with the Wii U.
@jfp I do know that Sony are petty, I do know that Sony wants to take back the Japanese market, I do know that Sony likes to buy out studios to undermine their competition and most importantly, I do know that Sony have been trying to drive Nintendo out of the gaming market since the mid 90s.
I also do know that Nintendo are very hit and miss, they are known to rest on their laurels and get caught slacking, I also do know that secretly, a lot of western gaming studios want to see Nintendo go 3rd party and they have done for decades now.
I do know that a lot of Nintendo fans willfully close their eyes to these facts like they haven't been happening for years.
I think Nintendo needs to stop worrying about leaks from a long overdue product and start worrying about what Sony are doing behind the scenes particularly in Japan, coming up to the release of the Switch 2.

I'll have to pass on this one, too expensive even for £30, let alone any more, damn game cost 29.99 on the 3DS, no way am I paying more for a game I already own and played. Also has absolutely no changes at all. No thanks 😂.
Nope sorry guys, Ubisoft is going to be made an example of so other developers and studios don't keep down this path, their last hope for survival, Assassin's Creed Shadows will flops, there won't be a Ubisoft by the end of 2025 and the entire gaming community will be comfortable not owning UBISOFT games anymore.
Ubisoft and EVERY studio/developer needs to be reminded who pays their bills and ultimately who their bosses are, Ubisoft and many other studios forgot, but we'll use Ubisoft as a reminder for the rest of them, their spectre will serve as a warning to others.

Nah this is an old ass port which is far over priced, this wouldn't be good value for money anyway even if you did want to play it, you'll be looking at getting a weekends worth of game time here, when you can spend your money on a game like Smash, Splatoon or even one of the Zelda games, for the same cost and get 8 times as much gaming time as you would with this.
For me personally, I don't spend my money on games willy billy anymore, the minimum value I look for is £1 for 1 hour, if I don't get 50 hours of play time for a £50 game, then I'm not interested.
For me it just doesn't add up to buy a game like this, btoo expensive, too short and ultimately too old for me to bother with.
This list is a joke, I agree with BOTW in the top 10 but not number 1 and no Witcher 3, Elden Ring or Ocarina of time? Dumb list. Can't take this dribble seriously 😂.

@JackStamper the fact that you don't see the bigger picture in what I'm trying to say when so many others clearly do, just means I'd be wasting my time trying to enlighten you about it.
You'll eventually figure it out one day. Don't worry about it for now.
What you are failing to realise is that what I'm saying isn't about stopping this from happening, it will happen, it's about mitigating the damage this does to the industry.
By buying more physical media, you are signalling to distributors that this is still a lucrative form of selling their products.
In a world where everyone purchase more physical over digital, these games would have been readily available in physical format and not just for a limited time. As it stands only 1 or 2 were ever only made available for physical distribution and that was for a limited period of time.
But had everyone been buying mainly physical media, the developers would have been forced to make these games available as such. Therefore mitigating the damage that digital removal would do.
So buying more physical is literally the answer to solving this problem because money talks louder than words.
It's never a good thing to see this stuff happen, it really does illustrate that we need to keep supporting physical media so the medium never dies and mitigates the impact of digital content removal.
In my opinion that's more important now than ever before.
@Tryffel I was actually about to mention this, I own a couple of those handheld mini Sega machines with like 20-30 games on them and they were a fraction of the cost that the mini consoles were at and they already had the best games you'd want to play on those systems already.
Also those things were around for YEARS too. I didn't see the logic in releasing a new console that basically did the same thing except cost much more lol.
@KryptoniteKrunch I would love to agree with this, if Square were as important as they once were, but outside of Nintendos own 1st party games, FromSoft make the best selling games in Japan, if you exclude Nintendo's first party games and guess who now owns FromSoft?
That's correct, good old Sony does. I wonder what they're gonna do with the Dark Souls/Elden Ring IP? Hopefully they don't lock it exclusively to their own consoles. We both know that's exactly what's going to happen lol.
Imagine this very plausible scenario - Nintendo announces Switch 2 in March, due to release end of 2025, in September of 2025 Sony decides to announce their next handheld for summer of 2026 with a new FromSoft game as a launch title.
If that happens, a move like that would virtually obliterate Nintendo's western market and would eat up most of their Japanese market.
@Astropez well you pretty much nailed it at the end there didn't you.
"Hopefully Sony doesn't play dirty like it always does" - key word being "always does" this is just the issue and always has been the issue. Sony have been playing dirty for years and we both know they'll continue to play dirty.
Look at all the hoohaa around Microsoft buying Activision-Blizzard, only for them to go pull similar moves to buy FromSoft or pay for games not to appear on any other console. Sony have been dirty since they entered the market, do you seriously think them talking about new consoles and handhelds isn't related to the Switch 2 release? Be realistic mate. I bet when the Switch is revealed, we'll get a release date for Sony's next handheld not long after and watch how that cannibalises Nintendo's sales.
I feel like Nintendo really did drop the ball with the timing of their follow up console for the Switch. Sony are already talking about a PS6 and another Handheld, they're actively looking to take back the Japanese market from Nintendo and I feel like Nintendo are kinda of resting on their laurels a bit here.
If I'm honest, we should have had a price cut for the Switch by now and a new console should have been announced 6 months ago at the latest.
Hopefully Nintendo decides to release the console before 2025 holiday season, because if Sony decides to announce a new handheld for even 1 year later, it will absolutely cannibalise Nintendo's sales, exactly like the PS2 did with the Dreamcast when Sony went ahead and announced their next console a year in advance.
I feel like Nintendo is fumbling into the exact same situation here.
I actually can kind of see this being a thing but not because Nintendo are so good, but because the competition isn't in a good period currently.
Personally I don't see Sony and Microsoft carrying on down the same path anymore, making high end consoles with the latest graphics is not cost effective anymore in a litany of ways.
Look how little games the PS5 has actually got, 4 years into it's lifespan, development time for AAA games are 5-8 years nowadays, which is simply not sustainable long term anymore, not even if console lifespans were 8-10 years.
The current system with home consoles and game development time/cost isn't sustainable so I don't believe the competition will be the same in the next few years, it could actually be that Sony decide to ditch the high end home console market and join Nintendo in the handheld market. Which is why Sony announced they are making a handheld console again. If Sony really does decide to ditch the home console market and focus exclusively on handhelds, it could potentially work for them, especially given the success of the Switch and actually getting games, I can see Sony potentially looking to do this. Unfortunately I don't fancy Sony's chances though, even outside of gaming, they've always been kinda hit and miss when it came to portability.
Microsoft may decide to actually lean more heavily into the fact that every single PC gamer in the world actually uses Microsoft's operating system to play their video games and may decide to cater exclusively to that market. Or Microsoft may continue to try and be the Netflix of gaming, I'm not entirely sure, I genuinely don't see Microsoft making a new home console, or at least not physically bringing one to market. Not for a good while if at all.
If Nintendo just make a traditional console with their first party games, some solid last gen ports and some great Indie games, basically exactly what they did this Gen, they'll win again, it might not work a 3rd time, it'll depend on the landscape at that time, but essentially Nintendo are lucky here, they really won't need to do a lot to succeed, just more of the same and that's only because the rest of the industry is in such bad shape as of now. This probably won't change for a good few years at least too, until Sony either goes handheld or whatever and Microsoft does what they gotta do, the current system with home consoles as they are just isn't sustainable anymore. So Nintendo has a pretty solid window of opportunity to do another hit.
@Medic_alert how do you figure that the Switch was a "novelty"?
Is that because you think portability is a gimmick?
Genuinely interested to know how you believe the Switch was nothing more than a "Novelty"?...
The Switch is probably going to end it's lifespan as the best selling console of all time, it also now is statically, has the highest rated games of any console ever, if you go by metacritic.
As much as I would love this, I seriously doubt it.
@Sephiran basically what this guy says is spot on.
FromSoft have never really had any type of relationship with Nintendo bar the one game they put, which came 6 months late and was broken on release until updates fixed it 6 months later, so DS1 remastered on the Switch probably sold like trash and that essentially put an end to any opportunity for a relationship between the two, at least at that time.
Now it seems as though they'll turn into a Sony 1st party studio and that will permanently put their games out of reach on any Nintendo console.
My suggestion is, if you want to play their games but don't want to get a PS to do it, look into a PC, outside of that I wouldn't hope for a Nintendo release any time soon. Unfortunately.
Great game but GOTY? Seriously? That's a joke if you ask me, Astro Bot is a great game but any game that you can finish in a single weekend is NOT worthy of GOTY.
The game isn't even worth the money you'd spend on it, it's a $60 game you can beat in 15 hours.
Imagine spending $4 per hour to play a video game, because that's what this is and it just won GOTY.
@PateloDim I wouldn't get so worked up over Nintendo's weak hardware, we're seeing a big shift in the industry now where games developed on brand new hardware with the latest and greatest graphics, are looking less and less appealing to make.
Too much risks and costs involved, nowadays it Takes 5-8 years to develop a average AAA game, look at how little games the PS5 actually has, especially when you compare it to the PS4 in the same period, the numbers are worlds apart.
The reality is we're now in the era of diminished returns, it's not worth spending so much time to make a game only for the game to flop. This is why even 4 years after Gen 9 starting, we're still seeing many games being made for PS4s and Xbox Ones.
Nintendo have had the right idea for a while now, strong hardware doesn't make for a successful product. Look at the PS2, was the weakest of the 3, yet sold the most, look again with the Wii, was the weakest of the 3 but sold the most, even the PS1, was the weakest of the 3 but sold the most.
Actually throughout history, it's more often than not, weak hardware actually has the better experiences, proof of this is how pound for pound, Nintendo Switch actually has the most highest rated games on their hardware of any console, ever.
I wouldn't be so quick to write off Nintendo based solely on their hardware.
Didn't watch. Too long, no time for that and I can just read the results.
I suspect some of these games will more than likely end up on the Switch 2 if Sony and Microsoft dont buy up every 3rd party developer in the industry.
All Nintendo need to do is strong 3rd party ports of games like Elden Ring, Black Myth, Boulders Gate 3, Dragons Dogma 2, a few others too, along with full indie support with games like Hades 2, Hollow Knight Silk Song (one day) and their own strong first party exclusive games and they'll do just fine with that. A few 3rd party timed exclusive will help too, like another MonHun game similar to what happened with Rise.
Basically same thing they did with the Switch.
Nintendo really doesn't need to do much because their own first party games are already in terms of sheer revenue, the most lucrative in the entire industry. Just need to look at the biggest entertainment franchises in history to know what I mean.
Nintendo are the only developer in the world capable of taking an old game they made 10 years ago, adding a few bells and whistles to it, adding no online features, not improving the gameplay or even the frame rates and somehow selling 15+ million copies of that game because plumber with mustache sells like hot cakes.
If you can think of any other development studio could do anything close to that, I'd like to know who 😂.
@Poco_Lypso Nah I just don't see that being the case, I don't think Souls games would do anywhere near as well locked on Nintendo consoles.
Maybe you see something I don't, but I just don't see the market for it. I also don't see Nintendo buying a company like FromSoft, Sony are more likely to get them than Nintendo, unfortunately.
@VoidofLight this really isn't anything new and I don't believe it's really a bad thing either lol, they've been a support team for close to a decade now, they were on both Zelda games.
They'll still make their own games clearly, as they just released a 3rd game not long ago, unfortunately I do agree with you about this not being a great thing, just not in the same area lol.
They made one good game, that was Xenoblade 1, you might be able to make a solid argument for Chronicles X too, but unfortunately the rest of their games are quite lackluster if you ask me, they are a talented team though, but better as a support team, they might do well with other games but their Xenoblade games are not really great anymore, they're a niche title that not many people play.
@Poco_Lypso as much as I would love for Nintendo to own FromSoft, or even for the Switch to get more FromSoft games, I just don't think the support is there from the fanbase.
I think Nintendo fans had a chance to prove they wanted more FromSoft games when they released DS1 remastered on the Switch in 2018, unfortunately the game had some bugs and performance issues out the gate and the reviews basically slammed the game, they never adjusted it when the game was fixed about a month or two later.
It's now easily one of the best 3rd party games on the Switch, but you wouldn't know that by looking at how much attention it got.
Yeah I doubt the game even sold 100k units, probably killed any chance we'll ever have of ever seeing Elden Ring on a Nintendo console.
No surprise here considering the recent direction they've decided to take, they would do well to try and target the larger market within the gaming sphere, instead of targeting a niche market of gamers who clearly are not big enough to support a company their size.
No they wont be able to compete with Nintendo in the portable gaming space, neither of them look like they're in any position to be able to fully support the one system they do have, let alone add a second system into the mix. Microsoft's inclusion in this is actually particularly laughable.
They could opt to make it a 3rd party machine, but that method didn't work on the Vita, no reason why it will work on another Sony portable console when the market is on the verge of imploding.
Microsoft can't even make a reliable portable mobile phone, let alone a portable gaming device. Id be surprised if either of them actually go all the way with this, Microsoft more so than Sony.
I mean if Sony can use this logic then the Nintendo DS sold around 170m units.
Sony have been pulling this tired petty tactic for years, they did it in 2009 when the Nintendo DS was about to pass PS2 sales figures then too, randomly started reporting sales figures on the PS2 when they hadn't reported them since 2007 by that stage.
Sony have always been known to be petty about that "best selling console ever" crown.
Ubisoft better start towing the right line and dropping all that political stuff in their games, otherwise they won't be competing with anyone, they'll be a distant memory.
The issue that Sony keeps making is they make hardware that is just too powerful for a for portable device, all their handhelds were more powerful than their Nintendo counterparts, PSP was more powerful than the DS and the PS Vita was more powerful than the 3DS, yet they lost the first war quite badly and they lost the second war catastrophically.
They seem to make the same mistake every time, the machine is powerful, but costs more, has less battery life and games tend to be fewer and far between, because optimising graphically demanding games is not easy on a piece of portable hardware.
Sony keeps getting this balance wrong and judging by their new PS Portal, i doubt they will be getting it right anytime soon.
This little machine made just as big an impact on me lol.
The Nintendo DS for me changed the way i play video games permanently, since the DS I've done the vast majority of my gaming portable, before the DS my portable gaming and home console gaming would have been a 80% to home consoles and a 20% to portable, after the DS it went 70% portable to 30% home consoles, from the DS, to the PSP to the 3DSand to the Switch. That trend never stopped and it's gotten to the point where this 9th generation is the only generation where i haven't bothered with either the PS5 or the Xbox Series X, my PS4, Steam Deck and Switch is more than enough.
This started with the Nintendo DS for me, it permanently changed how i approach video games.
Hideo Kojima? Oh you mean the same guy who when asked his thoughts on Nintendo, his reply was "What A Waste"... You think this guy is going to put his game on Nintendo platforms? A person known for sticking to his artistic integrity? (For good or bad, i personally think his games are trash).
I highly doubt this will happen, from what i understand, I don't think Kojima particularly cares for Nintendo, even ignoring his comments about Nintendo, any of his games that have ended up on Nintendo platforms, have done so either without his consent or without his knowledge. Konami had when Kojima was there, and still has, now that he's gone, a good relationship with Nintendo, thats mostly how we got his games But Kojima himself has made it clear he doesn't care for Nintendo as a business, or at least their direction, for whatever reason.
I could be wrong and i hope i am because more games are always good, but i would never put money on this ever being a possibility.
I will probably buy it at some point, not day one as i have more than enough games to be getting on with, but I'll buy it eventually.
Now the thing i don't understand is that you read the comments and you see the poll on games like this and when you compare like for like with other 1st party Nintendo games, you'd think that Xenoblade is a smash hit game right?
I mean just reading the overwhelmingly positive response to this game, one would think this game will sell HUGE numbers. Damn game won't even sell 4 million units.
In fact the entire franchise doesn't even have as many sales as a Mario port of a Wii U game 😂. If i was Monolith, I'd legitimately question my exclusive partnership with Nintendo.
I'd like to see Twilight Princess HD and Wind Waker HD but those have been mentioned a million times already.
On the topic of the Wii U though, i was thinking about this the other day, if the Wii U launched with a Pro controller and was called the Wii 2 instead of the Wii U (confusing marketing that turned many of the casual audiences they had just attained from the Wii, away from the Wii U), then the console would have sold 30-40 million units, still a far cry from being considered "successful" but better than what it did get.
Although if that had happened, then it's highly likely we wouldn't of gotten the Switch.
Can't support Xbox anymore, at least from a hardware standpoint, just no point, all their games are either already available elsewhere or are going to be available elsewhere.
I don't see any benefit to owning Xbox hardware. It's a shame they took this route.
Btw this is what no exclusives looks like. It's not pretty.
I find it incredibly hilarious that Nintendo genuinely expected nobody to talk, i knew Nintendo was out of touch with the Internet, but to this extent is just ridiculous, how can such a big and successful organisation be so incredibly naive about such things 😂.

But had everyone been buying mainly physical media, the developers would have been forced to make these games available as such. Therefore mitigating the damage that digital removal would do.
So buying more physical is literally the answer to solving this problem because money talks louder than words.
Re: Dragon Quest Creator Yuji Horii Says He's "Never Thought About Retirement"
Hopefully we're gonna see the next DQ game soon, 11 was legitimately one of my favourite JRPGS of all time.
Re: Multiple Cartoon Network Games Have Been Removed From The Switch eShop
It's never a good thing to see this stuff happen, it really does illustrate that we need to keep supporting physical media so the medium never dies and mitigates the impact of digital content removal.
In my opinion that's more important now than ever before.
Re: Don't Expect Any More Miniature Consoles From Sega
@Tryffel I was actually about to mention this, I own a couple of those handheld mini Sega machines with like 20-30 games on them and they were a fraction of the cost that the mini consoles were at and they already had the best games you'd want to play on those systems already.
Also those things were around for YEARS too. I didn't see the logic in releasing a new console that basically did the same thing except cost much more lol.
Re: PSA: Switch 2 Is Getting Revealed In The Next 100 Days
Re: PSA: Switch 2 Is Getting Revealed In The Next 100 Days
I can see it coming 😂.
Re: PSA: Switch 2 Is Getting Revealed In The Next 100 Days
Re: Nintendo Switch Finally Surpasses PlayStation 2's Lifetime Sales In The US
Queue Sony pulling out random figures out they ass for the PS2 like they've been doing for 15 years now 😂.
Re: 'Switch 2' Is Projected To Be The "Clear Winner" In The Next Console Generation
Re: 'Switch 2' Is Projected To Be The "Clear Winner" In The Next Console Generation
Not sure how that's a "novelty" 😂
Re: Is Elden Ring: Nightreign Coming To Switch 2? FromSoftware Knows Nothing About The Console, Apparently
Re: The Game Awards GOTY For 2024 Is Astro Bot
Great game but GOTY? Seriously? That's a joke if you ask me, Astro Bot is a great game but any game that you can finish in a single weekend is NOT worthy of GOTY.
The game isn't even worth the money you'd spend on it, it's a $60 game you can beat in 15 hours.
Imagine spending $4 per hour to play a video game, because that's what this is and it just won GOTY.
The industry has turned into a joke 🤣.
Re: Reaction: The Game Awards Left Us With One Big Question: Will Any Of This Run On Switch 2?
Re: Reaction: The Game Awards Left Us With One Big Question: Will Any Of This Run On Switch 2?
Re: Nintendo Now Officially Owns 100% Of Monolith Soft
@Poco_Lypso Nah I just don't see that being the case, I don't think Souls games would do anywhere near as well locked on Nintendo consoles.
Maybe you see something I don't, but I just don't see the market for it. I also don't see Nintendo buying a company like FromSoft, Sony are more likely to get them than Nintendo, unfortunately.
Re: Nintendo Now Officially Owns 100% Of Monolith Soft
Re: Nintendo Now Officially Owns 100% Of Monolith Soft
Re: Ubisoft Reportedly Discussing Buyout Options As Talks Of Going Private Continue
No surprise here considering the recent direction they've decided to take, they would do well to try and target the larger market within the gaming sphere, instead of targeting a niche market of gamers who clearly are not big enough to support a company their size.
Re: Talking Point: Can Sony And Microsoft Really Compete With Nintendo In A New 'Handheld War'?
Re: Poll: So, Will You Be Getting Donkey Kong Country Returns HD For Switch?
Nah I'll probably grab Tropical Freeze though. It's a shame we haven't had a new game in the series for over 10 years though.
Re: As Switch Closes The Gap, Sony Officially Confirms PS2 Has Sold "Over" 160 Million Units
Re: Rumour: Ubisoft May Be Working On An Animal Crossing Competitor
Ubisoft better start towing the right line and dropping all that political stuff in their games, otherwise they won't be competing with anyone, they'll be a distant memory.
Re: Sony May Be Plotting A New PSP To Compete With Nintendo's 'Switch 2'
@Serpenterror as a gaming company, Nintendo is bigger than Sony, but as a company overall, Sony is bigger than Nintendo.
In terms of actual gaming though, Nintendo is the biggest company around.
Sony gaming division is worth 29 billion
Microsoft gaming division is worth 21 billion.
Nintendo just makes games, they have some other smaller ventures but their main focus is video games. Their market cap is around 69 billion.
In terms of an actual gaming company, Nintendo is worth more than Sony and Microsoft combined.
Re: Sony May Be Plotting A New PSP To Compete With Nintendo's 'Switch 2'
Re: Feature: It's 20 Years Since The Launch Of Nintendo's Most Important Console
Re: Kojima Productions Reportedly Gains Full Control Of Death Stranding IP
Re: Nintendo Lowers Its Hardware Forecast As Switch Sales Slow To A Crawl
If Nintendo drop its price, passing PS2 wouldn't be a question.
To be fair if Nintendo actually drop their price for the Switch, i would get one for my Mrs because she casually plays games.
Without a price drop I can't justify it, in fact even with the price drop, has to be low enough for consideration.
Re: Poll: So, Will You Be Getting Xenoblade Chronicles X For Switch?
Re: Reaction: With Xenoblade Chronicles X On Switch, The Wii U's Demise Is Complete
Re: Microsoft Talks About Extending Its Gaming Content To 'New Platforms'
Can't support Xbox anymore, at least from a hardware standpoint, just no point, all their games are either already available elsewhere or are going to be available elsewhere.
I don't see any benefit to owning Xbox hardware. It's a shame they took this route.
Btw this is what no exclusives looks like. It's not pretty.
Re: As Expected, Nintendo Is Struggling To Contain Switch Online Playtest Leaks
I find it incredibly hilarious that Nintendo genuinely expected nobody to talk, i knew Nintendo was out of touch with the Internet, but to this extent is just ridiculous, how can such a big and successful organisation be so incredibly naive about such things 😂.
