The upcoming Justice League movie marks the end of many years of speculation about how Hollywood would adapt one of DC Comics' most famous properties. A film based around the heroic exploits of this superhero team has been mooted for many years, and back in 2009 it very nearly happened with Mad Max director George Miller at the helm.
That didn't come to pass, but before the movie was canned Warner Bros set about creating a tie-in game which would have launched on the Xbox 360, PS3 and Wii. Featuring Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman, the title was a 3D brawler which would replicate the events of the film.
As if we needed to point it out, this Justice League game never happened, and the folks over at Unseen 64 have the inside track on why. Give it a watch and let us know what you think.

It looks alright but the Wii version wouldn't have looked as good. When I heard some of the games that the developers previously worked on, it didn't fill me with confidence.
As a DC fan, neither this nor the trailers for Justice League fills me with much enthusiasm.
im a sucker for anything super hero related, so probably would of picked this up, I imagine it would of entailed a lot of wii remote waving
@SLIGEACH_EIRE
I agree. The footage is the early stages for both the XB 360 and PS3. The Wii version would be diferent. Remember the Captain America game. PS3 and the XB 360 had similar versions. But the Wii one completly diferent.
Love DC comics.
Wouldn't touch any of the new films with a barge pole. 😁
@renato_racfr Ya, there's many examples. Remember the Ghostbuster game? Completely different on Wii, still I really enjoyed it even though it was buggy and rough.
@renato_racfr You probably mean to say that the look of the game would have been the same for Xbox 360 and PS3, but there isn't any actual beta material from a PS3 version: the game never came past pre-production and its primary development platform was the Xbox 360, so the footage is only from game assets made for that console, as clearly visible from all the button prompts in the menus.
Looks like it would have been fun. Though I would love a JL (or even Avengers) game more akin to the Batman Arkham games.
@Fandabidozi Wonder Woman was good, but yeah they've already messed up their cinematic universe.
Lmao at the people on the films Wonder Woman was a step in the right direction and the reactions for JL have been positive. As for the game looked okay wouldn't mind a Justice League game on console
I'm so ready for Justice League!
I'd love a Rocksteady Wonder Woman or Superman game.
@canucksfan989 I just hate how they are like: "they have already screw their entire universe". Way too dramatic lol! But oh well; they will sadly keep hating on and missing out on future movies even when they are "fans" of DC Comics. Is their lost quite frankly.
I'm a fan of DC Comics and while I dislike Suicide Squad; I'm more than ready for every movie they will give us specially Justice League. Been waiting my entire life.
Funny, I just watched that video last night. I'd love to get my hands on the last build of that JL game as it looks to have been in a pretty advanced state.
Or I'll just buy the Green Lantern game that reused the engine, mechanics and assets of thr JL game.
This looks kinda cool. Just give me Injustice 2 on Switch though. The new movie is gonna be ruckus.
This looks as crap as the film does.
Well done DC
Wow. Just Wow. With the scrapped FLASH game and now this, I am amazed at WB's jerking around of development studios. This and the cancelled AVENGERS game would have been a fun diversion. Admittedly, though, I love licensed games. So I may be the exception to the rule.
Neat. Looks like it was pretty good too. Reminds me of the Marvel: Ultimate Alliance games.
