It's another Monday morning, which means we have a juicy Nintendo Download update for European gamers. This week includes plenty of options on both Wii U and 3DS, with brand new and Virtual Console titles on both systems. Without further ado, let's get to the details.
Wii U eShop
SQUIDS Odyssey (The Game Bakers, €12.99 / £9.99) — A tactical RPG originally released in two parts on PC and smart device platforms, this colourful title arrives on Wii U incorporating content from both releases and including updated controls. We'll let you know what we think in our review.
Swords & Soldiers (Two Tribes, €2.99 / £2.69) — This is a HD remake of the popular WiiWare title, which features optional touch screen controls and multiplayer where each player uses their own screen. This could be very tempting at a budget price, and we'll let you know what we think soon.
Color Zen (Cypronia, €2.99 / £2.99) — This aims to provide a relaxing puzzle experience, in which headphones and presumably a comfortable chair are encouraged. With a promised 460 levels and a minimalist but potentially interesting concept, this could be worth a look; our review will be published very soon.
Wii U Virtual Console
Klonoa: Empire of Dreams (Bandai Namco, €6.99 / £6.29) — Namco's mascot may not have had much love recently, but this Game Boy Advance platformer gets another chance to shine on Nintendo's home console. Watch out for our upcoming review.
3DS eShop
Picross e4 (Jupiter Corporation, €5.00 / £4.50) — It's Picross, so much Picross! This series of releases on the 3DS is popular simply because it delivers these picture puzzles well, albeit without too many bells and whistles. We gave this a recommendation in our Picross e4 review.
Turtle Tale (Saturnine Games, €2.99 / £2.49) — Also coming to the Wii U eShop relatively soon, this equips the turtle in question with a water gun and some platforming abilities. We expect the gameplay will speak for itself, but with colourful visuals and a budget price there's cause for some optimism. We'll get into a review for this one soon.
Touch Battle Tank 3D 2 (Agetec, €4.99 / £4.49) — This series returns promising gameplay improvements and additional content over the original, in which you shoot up as many enemy tanks as possible. Unfortunately, we felt this one did little to improve over the deeply flawed original — check out our Touch Battle Tank 3D 2 review.
3DS Virtual Console
Double Dragon II: The Revenge (Arc System Works. €4.99 / £4.49) — The iconic action beat 'em up series receives its second entry on the portable's retro store, with the grisly premise that you're now avenging a death rather than a kidnapping. We were fans in our Wii Virtual Console Double Dragon II: The Revenge review, and will take to the streets once again.
3DS Retail Download
Legends of Oz: Dorothy's Return (Avanquest, £19.99)
3DS eShop Temporary Discounts
Aeternoblade (Corecell, €7.99 / £6.59 until 29th May, normally €14.99 / £13.50)
Secrets of the Titanic 1912-2012 (Avanquest, €4.99 / £4.99 until 5th June, normally €10.99 / £9.99)
Quite a lot to choose from in Europe this time. Let us know what you're planning to pick up in the poll and comments below.

S&S HD and Squids Odessey for me pending reviews, the fact they are both ported from the IOS versions makes me hesitant but I'm optimistic also.
Not sure about Klonoa but it was reviewed 9/10, but I'll watch some gameplay later. Hmmmmm....
Swords & Soldiers AND Klonoa, wow! This more than makes up for last week!
I think I'm getting swords and soldiers for that price.
Double Dragon 2, what a classic game
I'm getting Swords and Soldiers HD, even when i own it on both Steam and PS3.
I want the Wii U touch features, and the price is low.
Expect the game to be native 1080p when its a Two Tribes game for Wii U.
Nothing here for me but still got a number of GBA games to pick up from April's collection.
@ThomasBW84 Will there be a Mario Kart Wii event tonight as Wii goes offline tomorrow?
"Nothing for me this week"
(Nice and varied offering though)
The eShop storm begins! Swords and Soldiers and Colour Zen are automatic. I'll check the reviews first for Squids. I also still need to get Scram Kitty!
S&S HD is a definite pick up for me, as I have never played it before and the price is right. Squids looks interesting but it is a little expensive, so I'll wait for reviews and probably a sale.
Come on "Nothing For Me" guys. Just get Swords and Soldiers at that price.
Need Klonoa and Mr. Driller in NA, hoping that's a done deal
Klonoa and double Dragon for me! Not a bad week at all!
Picross e4 is a must buy for me.
That tactical RPG Squids Odyssey came out of nowhere. Looks unique. Hope it's good, then I'll add it to Swords&Soldiers and Color Zen.
Klonoa GBA? Still need the Wii version.
Waiting for some reviews, I'm interested in Color Zen and the Squiddy stuff though, and probably also need some more Picross...
Time for a 25€ eShop card I guess.
I will be getting aeternoblade, i've been waiting for a price drop after the mixed reviews, love me a side scroller.
Squid based strategy game sounds fishy to me....
Seriously though.... I'm really not a happy gamer right now, had surgery to correct my broken left thumb and in a plaster cast right now so my gaming back log is going to continue for at least another month =(
Nothing for me until MK8 arrives in the post!
@ULTRA-64 That sucks hope you recover soon. S&S, Colour Zen and Squids are touch screen games so you might be okay with them.
Defo S&S, would have considered Klonoa if price wasn't that steep. Maybe that Zen game, I'll wait for a review. What's with turtles lately, though? Should we call it 'Turtle Week'? lol
Klonoa: Empire Of Dreams would be awesome... on 3DS.
@ULTRA-64 Get well soon.
Nice VC week for Europe! I know that Klonoa was a title some people were wanting. Show NA that third-party GBA love, NoA!
mmbn3plz
Double Dragon 2? Finally something that is not Renegade or Volleyball!
more picross
Swords and soldiers for me, and Picross for my wife!
Klonoa! gasp
Nice to see every week a quality indie title coming to Wii U and/or 3DS.
Just hoping Moon Chronicles would come to Europe already...
In addition to the 2 games that "SQUIDS Odyssey" merged into one, it also contains more levels and new characters. ONM had a review of it (75%) in the May issue, but I'd need to read a few more reviews of it, at that price.
Klonoa is an excellent addition. US pls.
Nice week, Picross e4 is a no brainer for me. And I will get Klonoa for sure. Didn't expect that one. Still in doubt about Swords & Soldiers, love the WiiWare, so I will wait for the review to see if it adds anything..
@SKTTR Klonoa Wii is great, but it's also already playable on Wii U, even if the game is becoming rare. Klonoa on GBA is also rare, but up until now wasn't playable on any modern console.
Nothing for me. Just counting the days until MK8 arrives!
Double Dragon II is the first Double Dragon game I played. My brother and I completed it when we were kids. I've never played a Double Dragon game I liked as much. If not for the wonky jump controls coupled with too much platforming considering how hard it was to jump, this would be one of my all-time favorites.
@Emblem @PrincessEevee9 cheers for the concern, it's pretty frustrating atm. I can play 'gentle' analog games with my fingers on the stick (ac:black flag) but it all goes the pot if there's much combat. Might try some pikmin later and I think castlestorm might be ok. I bought dk:tf the day before I broke my thumb so that will have to wait. At least I can play mk8 using the wheel , after the wait, that would be a killer to not be able to play.
Klonoa and much much what? I'm dying in suspense!
Why isn't Klonoa being released on the 3DS too? Or any GBA games, for that matter... It makes absolutely no sense to me, a lot of people like their handheld games to be... well... you know... handheld... as in portable, as in not only available within the confines of a home...
Nothing for me! I still need Triple Deluxe, so... yeah.
Pretty... Fantastic.
Might get up to 3.depending on reviews and how much money I have left over after bills next pay.
Ooh!! Double Dragon 2!! I just bought Street Gangs (River City Ransom) yesterday, so once I get more dosh I'll buy that too CX
Seems like EU is getting more support on third party GBA games... expecting NA to get these later on
Color Zen and S&S for me.
@Daemonite crap? What did you want to see? I want to understand your definition of crap.
Classy Capcom, real classy. I love the EU lineup of all the promised MegaMan games...oh wait...
Still, quite a good week
Dupuredu! Klonoa is amazing!
Nice to see some less expectable titles coming to the GBA VC! However, I hope that a few more of the Nintendo-AAA titles will arrive soon too.
...and, note to Konami: Please release your Mario Kart-clone! I forgot the name, but it included Goemon and some others and may be a nice change from the Nintendo characters.
Slow week. Mario Kart 8 and E3 need to come already.
Klonoa is great, i'll certainly be picking that up, just a shame the character doesn't get more games! Also Capcom need to get their ass into gear yet another week we don't see any signs of the GB Mega Man games coming over here!
Hopefully NA will get that kind of discount for AeternoBlade. I've been waiting for that.
Wow. Fingers crossed as I hope we get DD ll in the states this week too!
Swords and Soldiers for Wii U is a cute game with nice visuals but like so many other weeks i don't see anything their that really interests me.
@Savino: Agreed. At least we will have Mega Man May!
