Re: Mortal Kombat: Legacy Kollection Update Announced, Here Are The Patch Notes

Randomarcadedude

Playing the games offline, everything feels great to me, or at least exactly as I remember it. I viewed this collection as more of a museum and collection of cool games in a historical context and the online features are an added bonus. If this was released as just the games with none of the historical context, interviews, or depth, I would be judging things differently, but I think it's really cool so far. This is more in line with Atari 50 and the Jeff Minter Collection than the Capcom Fighting Collections. Both are awesome, but I guess I'm looking for different things when I turn on each one.

@Cashews I'm completely with you. I can respect the people that get into it, and I love how much single player content there is and a real, full story mode, but the gameplay itself I've never been a fan of with the modern games. MKX was the closest I've got, but I can't wrap my mind around the gameplay and stiffness

Re: Review: Session: Skate Sim - A Valiant Attempt That Doesn't Quite Land On Switch

I'm pretty sure I'm going to end up picking this up, I just wish it wasn't $49.99. Ive had it on PC since it hit early access and followed it on crowdfunding before that, and I have complaints about it for sure, but it definitely is going for a simulation and does pretty good with that. It's not for everyone for sure. Shoot, it's probably not for most.people, but it's a neat thing. it's made it hard for me to go back to the skate games because I feel like I have so much more control over the board in Session. And even the PC version is buggy, which also makes it hard to justify the price

Re: Skullgirls 2nd Encore "Massive Update" For Switch Is Out Now

I've got mixed feelings on this. I'm glad to see they've added the season 1 content finally, but the timings on combos and things changed for the PC version with this patch that made me have to relearn most of the characters I play and playstyles. The Switch version was outdated, but was the version I preferred playing. Oh well, I guess it's time to adapt again. Still, glad to see they didn't forget about this port

Probably restarting Bayonetta 3. I loved 1 and 2, but 3 isn't clicking with me the same way and I mostly blame controlling the summons and the size of some of the enemies makes it hard to see what I'm doing on screen. I've also decided to finally try to figure out how to play Stride on Meta Quest 2 decently because I'm awful at it but it always looks so fun

I made a terrible mistake and started scrolling through the article before getting a moment to read it, and saw the Dreamlight Valley picture and was like "This has to be written by Kate!" But yeah! Excellent picks! The only thing that comes to mind that isn't on this list is that first level of Scott Pilgrim Vs The World, but I think that's just Vancouver or something and I'm pretty sure that's not an imaginary place.

Re: Bowser Jr. And Birdo Star In Mario Strikers: Battle League's Third Free Update

This game kind of reminds me of Street Fighter 5 when it came out. The core gameplay was fun and creative, but there wasn't much to do if you don't want to play random matches online or have friends to come over. As time went on, SFV added single player content. This game could really benefit from the same treatment. Maybe a season mode or challenges or something besides just the really short cups and exhibition modes.

I haven't played much Street Fighter 5 since season 2 started, so I finally got the upgrade and season 5 pass to unlock everyone and I'm relearning that in anticipation for SF6. Also, I've been playing a bit of Chained Echoes but I might finally try to finish God of War 2018 or Marvel's Spider-Man. I always bounce off those two games because of their combat systems not clicking with me.

I'm looking forward to nier automata on switch because I'd love to have it on the go and away from my PC. Been looking forward to Bayonetta 3 since it was announced. I'm also curious about the switch port of No Man's Sky. I have low expectations for performance, but can't wait to see how it turns out regardless. I'd love to try out persona 5 but man, that's a game I'll have to wait for.

Re: Feature: Nintendo eShop Selects - July 2022

I like the idea of Severed Steel, but the fact that it runs at 30fps or lower and doesn't support gyro along with not great auto aim means it's super difficult for me to play on switch. The color palette also makes it kind of difficult to tell what you're looking at sometimes too.

I definitely need to give Capcom Arcade Stadium 2 a shot, especially if I can pick up the titles I'm interested in
