Definitely the 2019 version. In the past few years I've sort of grown out of the whole "nostalgia" mindset. There's so much nostalgia these days, so many indie games I've played that go for that aesthetic, that quite frankly I'm sick of it. I played the original as a kid and I loved it, but I'm done with nostalgia, better is better, period.
"But I have no choice, Nintendo won't release it."
What if Nintendo released it tomorrow? You never know when they'll release something which is why it's never ok to pirate.
So what do you do? You move on with your life. Play something else instead. There are thousands upon thousands of video games to choose from. Are you telling me there's nothing else you want to play?
I feel like loud, colorful and flashy is the tone you want to set when a system first launches. But for a 6 year old system on its way out, this is perfect.
These are videogames at the end of the day, nothing life or death. You don't NEED videogames to live, so if you decide to steal a videogame, something you don't need, I have no sympathy for you and you deserve whatever punishment you get.
Peach has been playable in the games plenty of times, and is shown to be very athletic in the Mario sports games. This isn't that crazy, especially considering that she is from this world while Mario just got here.
Yeah but guys there's a big difference between an obstacle course and real, actual danger. Just because Peach can do this doesn't mean she's stronger than Mario.
Every system becomes "underpowered" at some point, which is why I don't focus on that sort of thing. A good system is a good system, period. Don't judge a system by what it doesn't have. Judge it by what it does have.
I just want to give you guys props for acknowledging this game's existence. Nobody ever talks about or mentions this game. I thought it was awesome, and why it hasn't made some sort of comeback is baffling to me.
I have a real crazy one: Whenever I play an RPG I always make sure to rotate my party members regularly. Not for strategic or gameplay reasons, but because I feel it would hurt their feelings if I don't use them enough. Even though it doesn't matter, even though I know these characters are just code at the end of the day and don't have real feelings, I still do it.
Nintendo should keep the Switch going. I just feel like we're past the era of "gens" you know? Everything from this point forward is minor upgrades. We're past the era where a new system would come out and the whole world stopped, it was a huge deal because everyone was legitimately blown away by what it could do. That doesn't really happen anymore and we need to stop pretending it does.
It's still selling, case closed. The masses don't seem to mind that it's 6 years old. Nintendo would be crazy to abandon such a hot item just because some nerds on the internet are unhappy with its specs.
I just...... don't understand the point of an ultra powerful handheld. What's the point of amazing graphics on such a small screen? I thought the point of handhelds was that they are simpler, the games are "lighter" if you will, not as graphically impressive but a nice alternative that's cheap and fun for those who may not care all that much about power. I think systems like the Steam Deck and others completely missed the point.
I'm starting to understand why Nintendo made the Switch Lite. Because if they hadn't someone else would have. Nintendo is often underestimated but they know what they are doing. They forsaw the copycats and you better believe they have something up their sleeve for the Steam Deck as well.
Something, anything new. If I wanted to replay the old formula I'd go back and play one of the countless Mega Man games that already exist. It's time to move the franchise forward.
Size, battery life, portability, price, these things are "features" too. It really annoys me when people act like the only feature that's important is a system's horsepower. I like a well balanced system, and the Switch serves me just fine.
I don't think I'll ever play this series. Didn't play the first one and wont play this one. I just can't get past the stupid rabbits. If this were a Mario RPG with maybe the Toads instead of the rabbids, or maybe some original characters altogether, I'd be all over it. But those rabbits just kill it for me.
I'm not boycotting because there was no foul play. It's not like she was promised 10K but then was given 4K. She was offered 4K up front so I don't see the issue. If she doesn't feel that's good enough then feel free to walk away (which she did).
