@ThanosReXXX Now we're playing this game? Having any number of Xs in your username doesn't really evoke an image of a serious person either.
But I'm dead serious about you looking for help, it's not a laughing matter when a great number of your comments on this site is about complaining about people who disagree with you (to the point of referencing their comments in a completely different conversation under a completely different topic; yes, I've noticed that and it's genuinely sad).
Alternatively, just block me (and every other "whiner") if you need your safe space so much, but working out your problems would be a better option in the long run.
@ThanosReXXX First you come with a classic Gish gallop, while also crying about people who dare to not completely fall for hype like small children, then continue to ramble about reason and logic while clearly being the emotional one and you finally end by accusing the other side of not getting what you're saying and wasting your time? I'd suggest taking a break from the internet (at least for the next 10 months or so) and investing that time into some kind of a therapy, because you seem to have some serious issues to deal with.
It was fun following Pokemon for years, even when it wasn't accepted anymore by the "cool kids", but I think the time has come to part ways, since Gamefreak has grown too complacent and other franchises could put my support to better use.
@ThanosReXXX Sorry, it's just that your whole comment was so silly, as if meant as a parody or written by an 8 yo kid with pure heart. Not really worth arguing with seriously. If you genuinely believe all those things, I think I might have a bridge to sell you.
@Silly_G New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe wasn't worth its price either and Captain Toad was significantly cheaper than 55GBP. It's like you guys don't even try to come up with good arguments why this pricing of S&S (one game divided into two, mind you!) makes sense.
@Kimyonaakuma You may be thinking of Pokemon games, which didn't look good on 3DS to begin with. Sword and Shield looks about on par with the best looking 3DS titles, just in higher resolution.
@ThanosReXXX Oh my goodness, there are still people naive enough to think that "Game footage not final" means that it's some sort of a beta version and the final release is going to be x times better?
That's so adorable!
The more Pokemon they show in this "realistic" style, the worse they look. And how dare they use "Holding out for a hero"? Have they forgotten how well it was used in Shrek 2? Nothing is going to come close, don't even bother.
The funny thing about Japanese language is that there's a surprisingly small number of ways to say certain things, probably because it's so context dependant that giving the speakers "too much freedom" would severly hinder everyday communication. I think this is why the Japanese have a much easier time spotting references to certain works, even if it's just a relatively simple phrase uttered only a single time.
My first hands-on experience with FF was through IX (my younger cousin really loved it, despite having to play it with a guide in hand) and even though I like jRPGs to this day, FF never felt like my cup of tea, probably because of how weird IX felt to me back then. Just some food for thought for people thinking of "classic" as an objective term.
@Kimyonaakuma Considering how the Pokemon fanbase has in their midst people willing to spend dozens, if not hundreds, of hours watching other people hunt/breed for Pokemon in different colours (which on its own is probably the least exciting thing to do in any RPG ever), existence of Pokemon GO Youtubers is hardly surprising, but nonetheless depressing.
The only thing I'd add would be a HUD indicator pointing to the nearest enemy and distance from it (to quickly assess its altitude) and HD rumble whenever you're attacked, to immediately tell where the fire comes from (both of these could be done as upgrades, though). Other than that, boosting performance should be #1 priority, since it's pretty uneven. Overall, it was a really good experience and I'll be getting the full version day one.
I had no expectations and still felt let down. The weakest Direct in a while, not even cool looking Astral Chain managed to save it. My thoughts during the last announcement: "F**k, It's another Zelda."
Sony didn't spend years indoctrinating their consumers to think they're somehow better than others to just drop that and acknowledge other systems because of slight social pressure to be more consumer-friendly.
@JasmineDragon ”But if you want to spend more money on mass-produced vinyl dolls and actually believe you're being smart with your money, you do you." Did you just jump to conclusions yourself? I only mentioned "a bigger purchase" without specifying it. I wouldn't be caught dead owning a Funko Pop, Nendoroid, figma or whatever, because I don't like the idea of filling my house with plastic rubbish.
@JasmineDragon It's a bit sad how some people are itching to throw money at figure representations of their favourite characters, but not enough to get an actually high quality product. One's sense of taste has to be really skewed to consider Funko Pops to have a good price to quality ratio. Save that money towards a bigger purchase instead of throwing ten bucks into the garbage bin every other day.
I'm going to be that person commenting on the subject they don't like and say: Funko Pops are horrible. Their aesthetic fits very few characters and the only good looking ones deliberately reduce/discard Funko Pop style.
@goomba478 Some key mechanics did not work out as well as they could have in the first two games, so I can understand how it was met with a lukewarm reception in the west (personally it captivated me with its theme and aesthetics), but the third one is just incredible and definitely among my favourite titles on the 3DS. I'm hopeful for a relatively swift release of 4 in the west, if only because it would be a sound business decision to catch that huge Switch audience while the system is still hot.
First, fans of other series complained how battle in YW was not engaging enough, but now I can see them complaining that it's too complicated. Exploring Springdale/Sakura Town in full 3D is going to be a treat.
I'm sorry to say this, but if you're not Marvel, working on the sequel before your first movie is even out is a sign of hubris and the odds of me actually supporting you and watching it in the cinema drop drastically.
People seem to be missing the fact that Islam doesn't really have any culturally widespread images of their prophet or god, so in order to include them, the game creators would need to make heavily exaggerated caricatures, which is not the case with other characters. Even Jesus, compared to his depictions in some other popular media, is relatively tame.
Making fun of religion in a blanket manner, so everyone can feel equally offended, is always good, but it's a huge shame so little effort was put into making this an actually playable game.
3DS games glitching would always make my blood freeze. It happened to me just a few times and the issue would, luckily, always go away on its own, but the feeling that there's nothing you can do, since it's on a console, is just so harrowing.
I guess this, Mario Bros. Deluxe and YIIK are kind of "victims" of a dry season syndrome: there's no other major games released at this time, last year games are still keeping a strong grip on us, so let's pretend that these new releases are really good.
I were moderately interested in the game back when it was first announced (has it really been that long?), but it looked super slow, even in the trailer meant to make it look appealing, and it doesn't seem to be any better now, so I'm skipping this one.
The issue with boosting 3DS numbers via an enhanced model or a huge price cut is that it could potentially eat into the Switch sales. Nintendo is far more interested in keeping the 3DS in sort of a Schrödinger-esque state: as long as they do not admit it directly, it's neither dead nor alive, so some people, who wouldn't be spending their money on Switch anyway, will use it on the 3DS, thinking it still has some life left in it.
Companies need to be criticized for publishing tone deaf messages on social media - do your research properly if you want to boost business by pretending to be friends with your customers.
@Tao They may be contractually denied the ability to advertise their products as such, the teams may be completely different or they have a shred of dignity to not fall back on their biggest hit even when doing something completely unrelated.
It was only a matter of time. My final 3DS game will be Yokai Watch 3 - thankfully, it is a great experience and I predict more than 200 hours of gameplay at this point (4th highest on the system), so at the very least it will be a really nice farewell.
@electrolite77 I don't mind ports, especially from WiiU, but this game didn't really make it into most of "WiiU games we would like to see ported to Switch" lists I've seen people posting around the net, and that's speaking volumes considering its pedigree.

55GBP for an upscaled 3DS game? Sounds like a bargain!

Series is 23 years old, but they're still afraid of shaking up the formula - looks like It's going to be 3rd consecutive year without Pokemon for me.
Re: Video: New Detective Pikachu Movie Trailer Shows Off Lots Of New Pokémon
@Rodan2000 It's thanks to sceptical people like me, that suckers falling for hype haven't yet been squeezed dry by movie producers. You're welcome.
