Re: Persona 5 Switch Rumours Intensify

Preposterous

@_dangleman If only you could read with comprehension, you would notice that the sales were brought up merely as a counterargument to someone else saying that "P5 is so much bigger than XB2". I didn't really contest the game in any other way, except for it being partly a VN, which is pretty much a fact. Opening "the debate" with metacritic scores is admitting that you follow the popular opinion and don't have anything to say yourself.
You were given multiple chances to not make yourself a blabbering nincompoop and refused to take every single one.

@_dangleman Hey, I'm not the one here who started posting without even reading through the whole comment section and then made a fool out of myself. You're actively making the Internet a garbage pile by shooting first and asking questions later.

The fact you seem to think that popular vote is a good way to judge an art or media piece speaks volumes about your worth as a conversation partner.

Re: Persona 5 Switch Rumours Intensify

Preposterous

@_dangleman "the context of your sales comment seems to indicate that that fact is paralleled in sales" - not really.
Not my fault you lack proper netiquette and hastily offend people on the Internet you disagree with. Some people just need proper schooling.

Re: Persona 5 Switch Rumours Intensify

Preposterous

@Zeraki I find it weird how people choose to read my comment this way, event though the context makes it clearly about quality of the games... However, P5 on PS4, despite being around for longer, on a system with a much higher install base, being overall easier to get into and coming from a better known franchise by june or so of 2018 sold only 50% more than XB2 - but I guess Japan will prefer P5 on Switch at the end of the day.

Re: Persona 5 Switch Rumours Intensify

Preposterous

@macalao914 Aren't the modern Persona games based around the time limit, where you have a set number of in-game days to play through and within those days you have a limited number of things you can do (a'la Visual Novels)? I've seen a lot of people complaining about the cat in P5 babying them and forcing to finish the day early.

Re: Persona 5 Switch Rumours Intensify

Preposterous

@turntSNACO Yeah, I get it. But I have very little tolerance for games taking away control from the player (even more so when it's done for the purpose of making the experience more cinematic), and I heard this happens in P5 a number of times, so I'm definitely reserved, but, as mentioned before, willing to give it a chance under favourable conditions.

Re: Persona 5 Switch Rumours Intensify

Preposterous

@turntSNACO It's not like they are the same genre and both qualify as "anime" games taking a lot from the same treasure trove of tropes... Oh wait.

It's a given because Switch is the #1 console in Japan right now and this should always be Atlus' main target.

Re: Persona 5 Switch Rumours Intensify

Preposterous

@TommyTendo It's more about not hyping up yet another port (especially when Switch already has a very good library of exclusive games) like it's some sort of a blessing. This should be a given since Switch performs really well and they better not pull any of the delayed western release nonsense if they want to catch my attention.

Re: Persona 5 Switch Rumours Intensify

Preposterous

It's kind of a situation like with a Hat in Time: why would I want it ported when Switch has the superior Super Mario Odyssey? P5 doesn't really stand a chance against Xenoblade Chronicles 2 and (in the future) SMT5, but I might give it a shot if it's reasonably priced and released on a slow month.

Re: Yo-Kai Watch 4 Receives New Screens And Details Surrounding Its Battle System

Preposterous

I'm playing through Yokai Watch 3 right now and the amount of content, outside of the main story, is positively staggering (sure, it's combining three versions into one, but at the end of the day it's just a little bit more than what was available in japanese Sukiyaki) - enough to say that after 30 hours, the game awards you a "Promising Rookie" trophy. If YW4 has half of that, then we'll be getting a really good JRPG next (hopefully) year.

Re: Review: Yo-Kai Watch 3 - The Perfect Swansong For The Series On Nintendo 3DS

Preposterous

While the previous YW games were, as much I don't like to admit it, more of an acquired taste things, I think this version deserves to be noticed in the west, so once YW4 comes out, it won't pass under the radar of most Switch owners.

I urge anyone who might not have been entirely sold on the last few Pokemon games, to give a chance to this franchise. You probably won't be converted entirely, but might become a little bit more discerning when it comes to future games released in the monster catching genre. At the very least, ditching of dual versions is definitely something that consumers should appreciate.

Re: Diablo III: Eternal Collection

Preposterous

After finally getting a chance to experience D3 firsthand, I'm really disappointed how shallow the gameplay is and how little it resembles Diablo 2, even if it can still be quite addictive. The worst thing is that every time I turn it on, I'm going to think how much more enjoyable would be playing the vastly superior Grim Dawn on Switch, which we are unlikely to ever get.

Re: Pokémon: Let's Go Sells 3 Million Copies In First Week, Becomes Fastest-Selling Game On Switch

Preposterous

@Draxa Actually, from what I've seen, people have left negative reviews over the weekend and moved on, but there's a nearly constant stream of 10/10 reviews limited to "it's fun" or "my first Pokemon game I've ever played, it's the best", so it has become a reverse review bombing at this point.
People wanted their voice to be heard, but with censorship and smear campaign by media outlets targeting them, it's a lost cause.

Re: Pokémon: Let's Go Sells 3 Million Copies In First Week, Becomes Fastest-Selling Game On Switch

Preposterous

@Pdarklight @Cosats I suppose my comment had a bit too complex message for your to comprehend. Feel free to ignore it.

@Alex78 "an orchestrated review bomb" - was there really an organised action, or was it a spontaneous move from the fans? Brushing off all criticism as trolling, done both by NL and you, is kind of cowardly. I'm not denying high sales (although, they weren't all that amazing in Japan), I just don't see them as confirmation of high quality, like some do.

Re: Soapbox: Don't Listen To The Pokémon: Let’s Go Haters - The Game Has Definitely Found Its Audience

Preposterous

I've realized it's a little bit weird to use attach rate to rate how popular a Pokemon game is, because, usually, games released early in the system's lifespan will have an easier time due to smaller competition.
Let's look at first Pokemon games on each of these systems:
Nintendo DS launch: December 2. 2004, Pokemon DP released: September 28. 2006 - 22 months gap
Nintendo 3DS launch: February 26. 2011, Pokemon XY released: October 12. 2013 - 31 months gap
Nintendo Switch launch: March 3. 2017, Pokemon LGPE released: November 16. 2018 - 20 months gap
Let's Go has the lowest attach rate out of these three, despite being released relatively the fastest. Even though the price probably must have played some role, I'd say it's a clear sign that it didn't manage to reach as big of an audience as the earlier releases under similar conditions.

Re: Soapbox: Don't Listen To The Pokémon: Let’s Go Haters - The Game Has Definitely Found Its Audience

Preposterous

I remember time when Joe claimed that your Pokemon don't gain experience in the "tutorial" part of Black/White - later it was confirmed to be an anti-piracy mechanic. Some years later he would confirm that the gen 7 starter leaks, featuring Incineroar, soon to be featured in Smash Bros. Ultimate, were fake. Now I'm supposed to believe that a game is good because it sold well? Sure thing, Joe.
