Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend?

Phle

@JaxonH Really?! Thanks, I'll try it. I've had to go back to old saves so many times, I've lost many, many hours of gameplay and my feelings towards the game is kind of crushed. I definitely would not have bought it if I knew how glitchy it is / was (depending if updating the game will help. I keep getting this "your character is back to start" thing happening and then I loose all my abilities and I am suddenly dressed in the start outfit and there is nothing to do about it other than loading an old save. I been wondering if it was because I refuse to link the game to a Ubisoft account...)

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend?

I'm still in the middle of The Fractured but Whole (I've been having som major game-breaking glitch issues, so progress is slow) and I'll be playing World of Warcraft as well. Of course some Pokémon Go, that's a daily thing.

Re: Review: South Park: The Fractured But Whole (Switch)

Phle

I bought it with DLC and everything and I’ve been enjoying it a lot.
At one point the game glitched reallly bad: my character lost all progress and abilities, but I was still in the same part of the story. It was impossible to solve the puzzles required for progress, so I had to load an old save and lost at least 10 hours of gameplay. Other than that I haven’t had any problems though.

Re: Random: Cats Can't Get Enough Of Nintendo Labo

Phle

How is this a surprise?!
I've held off on getting Nintendo Labo because I'm a cat breeder and I have 6 cats and they would be wrecking it in seconds and playing with the parts until they were so destroyed that I had to throw them away.
Every time we get a box in the mail it's chaos. Of course that would happen with Nintendo Labo as well, you really got to be simple minded not to see that coming.

Re: Random: As The Pokémon Anime Hits 1000 Episodes, One Thing Is Clear: Ash Sucks At Pokémon

Phle

@TheTetrisGuy That is basically identical to my history of the Pokémon anime.

I always loved the the TV series, it saved my life when I was really sick mentally and lived in hospital. The only thing I had to look forward too was the next episode of Pokémon and I got up at Sundays every week at nine to watch it. It was the only reason I didn’t end my life and it’s also the reason I got into the games and bought my first gaming console: a Nintendo DS lite to play my first Pokémon game, Pokémon Diamond. I was around 20 then. That was after about 6 years of watching the anime every Sunday. And I own every Pokémon game released since then.

The Pokémon anime is basically the reason I ended up as a gamer.

And: I don’t really think Ash is trying to complete the Pokédex, he is trying to become a battling champion. There is actually a difference. I have to say that he gets pretty brainwashed a little bit too often, but that’s probably the side effect from being forever 10 years old.

Re: Be Afraid, Will.i.am Wants To Make "The Next Pokémon GO"

Phle

@UmbreonsPapa Maybe you still like them, but they have lost a lot of credibility the past 20 years. They used to be adored by everyone, that just isn’t the case anymore. Painfully poor games, stupid ideas and low general appearance the last 15 years got them where they are now.

Re: Be Afraid, Will.i.am Wants To Make "The Next Pokémon GO"

Pokemon Go is big because of the Pokémon brand, anime and games. It’s not easy to have something equal to Pokémon to base your virtual reality game on.

The only other company who had something similar in size was Disney, with Donald and Mickey. 25 years ago. Sadly they never maintained their fame and reputation very well and now they are usually just bad to be connected with in general. Example:
Virtual reality game? Sure! Virtual reality game with Donald and Mickey? No.
Jumper? Sure! Jumper with Donald and Mickey? No.

Please just stick to your music. It’s not that bad.

Re: The Games Industry Reacts To The White House's Violent Games Showreel

Phle

Violence is natural.
But it’s not natural to have a gun to solve it with.
Don’t blame games, blame the reasons causing people to act violently in extreme ways.
Most people can solve their urge to be violent without actually hurting a living being!
I’m a gamer and I’m mentally ill, but I still don’t have any problems with avoiding to physically hurt people or animals around me!

Re: Nintendo Switch System Update 5.0.0 Is Now Available

Phle

Of course Nintendo went with the safe choice: Stability.
Am I going to have to hack my Switch for some colorful background action?! I don’t hack Nintendo.

I replace stuff with Apple stuff, so I’m staring to consider an iPad Pro. I won’t even have to buy a background, it will let me use my own photos... And have incredibly cute cats, it makes even Pokémons look pretty dull.

Re: Feature: The Big Nintendo Direct Summary - 8th March

Phle

I actually had a difficult time choosing just three, I actually wanted to vote for five of them. The two last ones are the two I didn’t vote for.
Splatoon 2: Octo expansion
Super Smash Brothers
WarioWare Gold on 3DS
Luigi’s Mansion on 3DS
South Park: The fractured but whole

Re: Talking Point: Nintendo Life's Favourite Games From Switch's First Year

Phle

I voted «something else» beacuse the only game on the list that I’ve played and own is Snipperclippers and it’s not that awesome.

But I don’t think I have a favorite game on the Switch.

I like Splatoon 2, but I never really got over that the Wii U version had the best controls and I had a lot more fun playing the original. I haven’t even touched the game for 6 months now. Sad the see the epic Wii U controls die, that was a hard blow to the series for me. I guess I try and force myself to like Splatoon 2 more in the future, I just don’t feel like it right now.

I finding myself digging up old 3DS games I love instead of playing on my Switch.

I still believe there could be hope that Nintendo would bring their “Nintendo experience” to the Switch. But the way I see it, they haven’t done that yet.

Just give me some colorful backgrounds and music Nintendo, so I don’t feel so sad and emotionless whenever I turn it on. Right now I usually turn it off in less than 4 minutes, that’s a new record, even the PS4 usually get 15 minuets of my life when I turn it on. The 3DS is flying up there with about 40 minuets on average, and that includes the times I just turn it on to check out the eShop or change my background. Considering I carry the Switch everywhere, it’s doing something fundamentally wrong. I just don’t feel it.

I’ll keep trying, but only because I used to love Nintendo more than any other company. I guess the Switch has a pretty good battery life and the console looks nice.

I recently got Layers of fear, but I haven’t started playing it yet, I just got to finish something on my 3DS first. The 3DS’s still got it.

Re: Zelda And Nintendo Win Big At The 2018 D.I.C.E. Awards

Phle

Nintendo is probably happy, I guess at least most of these awards are well deserved. I’m not very moved by these awards, but at the same time, I’m not going to complain.

I guess I haven’t really tried any new good games the past year that I would like to see here, that’s all. All the games on the Switch are kind of “meh” to me at the moment.

I’m actually replaying Virtue’s Last Reward for the third time these days. I got it on PS4, but the controls sucked massively and I just ended up playing it on the 3DS again, it’s my favorite console, even after all these years.

I hope Nintendo are going to bring some good Nintendo styled love to the Switch. I haven’t felt that yet on the Switch and I think it’s sad.

Re: Olé! Sales Of Nintendo Switch In Spain Have Now Surpassed Xbox One

Phle

Promising for Nintendo. But the XBox One isn’t really that popular anywhere, is it? People usually get a PS4 instead and then just combine it with a gaming PC. At least that have been my impression. I must admit that I have almost no knowledge about the Xbox, as I don’t know anyone who owns one and I never wanted one myself (I have a hate relationship with Microsoft).

Re: South Park: Fractured But Whole Coming to Switch on 13th March, says Aussie retail listing

Phle

@Pigeon I actually considered getting a PlayStation Vita many years back, before I got a PS4, but ended up deciding against it. I thought about it for several months. The reason is this: I already carry my 3DS, my iPhone and my iPod with me at all times, I don’t really have time for another handheld. That’s actually been a slight problem now that I have the Switch too. My purse is always stuffed, and I have been neglecting my 3DS because I use the Switch. It’s a bit unfortunate, as I like the 3DS more, it’s just difficult to use both at once. I also decided against an iPad for that very same reason. I don’t like having too many devices. I solved it by getting a large iPhone with lots of storage. I love all-in-one solutions. That’s also why I want apps on the Switch
